Cons: Housekeeping, weak. Left dirty coffee cups for re-use - stacked on top of the clean cup like it's the normal thing to do. Didn't replace coffee pods, had to request more pods from the desk multiple times. Left dirty glasses in the room after cleaning. What else was not cleaned or replaced that I didn't check? Towels? Rooftop bar was unusable it was so packed all the time.

Pros: I did not know what to expect given the low price, in the middle of a desirable area in Chicago, and really nice looking photos of the modern rooms. Did not think all of those would be true but it is!! It reminds me of a nice European boutique hotel in Berlin. Trendy, industrial, filled with young people but also with the options for a private King room with your own bathroom. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Yes it’s basic but you’re not paying for any extra amenities either. Oh, and the coffee shop is great for breakfast and coffee. Nitro cold brew on tap! Would definitely stay here again!

The coffe they offered are great. They have the self-service laundry area with a reasonable cost, which is very convient for me since it was the 5th week of my travel. The location is good, easily to reach to magnificient miles and the lakeshore with a reasonable walking distance. There are also many nice restaurant nearby.

Cons: There was no place to put our stuff in the room, only 3 hangers each and no drawer space, no space in the bathroom. The lighting in the room and bathroom was horrible. In the bathroom, if you plugged anything in, it draped over the toilet. We asked for an extra towel because we only had 2 and they were very thin, the maid refused and was very abrupt. I have asked for an extra towel for drying hair in hotels all over the country and have never been refused. There was no ice, so had to asked the café personnel constantly for ice whenever we were in the room; they were very accommodating but I felt awkward asking every morning and evening.

Cons: We really wanted to play pin pong but the 1 ball was busted. Also many of the cars did not work well and that was a let down because our son had us come back to the hotel just for that. I'd suggest you add a complimentary cup in the AM even just a small cup given the coffee shop downstairs. We just stayed at a boutique hotel in Austin (Van Zandt) and they have a coffee shop downstairs were you can get a small cup of morning complimentary coffee.

Pros: The space was pretty. The views are amazing. The bar in the evening time was great, including the bar tender who was extremely friendly and knowledgable about Chicago.
Cons: Firstly I never received or saw any breakfast? The room upkeep, and replenishment was poor. When the staff came to clean the room, they did not give towels consistently , but also did not wash the cups and mugs, replenish coffee, or replenish cream. Although they were quick to respond to fix these things, if I'm paying that price point for a room, I would hope the staff would more consistent. We also asked for the sheets to be changed the first night because my son wet the bed and they just placed the pillows over the wet spot. You could smell the urine in the room after returning from work, and I had to request again for someone to come change the bottom sheet. The hotel is beautiful, but I don't think I would recommend the space. Also we call several times to for our valet car, and we would have to wait almost 20 minutes, even after calling 10-15 minutes before from our room.

Concierge was helpful, gave useful advice and booked us river trip tickets. We got a free bar drink voucher on arrival, which doesn't cost the hotel much, I realise, but is a nice touch.

Cons: We were initially put into a room which can only be described as a dungeon. Tiny. No window. Claustrophobic. NOT what you want to arrive to after paying 600$usd and a 16 hour flight! There was no air in the room and no where to put our suitcases. We are a couple and that room wasn’t even suitable for one. The staff then very reluctantly and after 3 times asking put us into a slightly better room. Then we were told we could pay to upgrade the next day to another room (which we did) and that room was nice, HOWEVER, housekeeping didn’t clean it for 2 days and when we asked to have someone come and clean they said there was no house keeping. Also the restaurant wasn’t open and no one told us of this in advance.

Cons: He staff needs to inform clients that the hotel is divided into to buildings! We were in the older building and therefore, had we known about the the newer, River building (?), we would have asked to be on a lower floor in that building. The elevator on our side was being repaired on our check-out day (8/1/2019) and therefore the wait time to go upstairs and then depart from our rooms was more than 20 minutes! Secondly, the thermostat in the older building is set to a specific climate and that is not good. The hallways were way too cold and then at night, we could not adjust the temperature in our room which was set at 71 degrees. Your staff explained to us at 11:30 AM that there was no way to adjust our room temperature. Again, not good!

Cons: Nothing terrible, just a lot of little things that will keep us from returning. 1. We booked a suite because we travel with our 13 year old son and the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen in any hotel room we've ever stayed at. The living area of the room was huge. The bedroom one third of that size and the bathroom was about 4'x4'. 2. The bathroom was also low quality. Plastic toilet seat and lid...it felt like an airplane bathroom. The sink was barely big enough to wash my face. There was no door on the shower and we had to request conditioner. 3. There are only two elevators that each only accommodate about 3-4 guests and that's with no luggage. Between my husband and and son and I, we were barely comfortable and we are thin people. In the mornings there were lines in the hallways for the elevators and everytime one opened it was crammed full. We learned to take the stairs. 4. The A/C in our room was not adequate. It was lovely weather in Chicago... Around 77 degrees but we couldn't keep our room cool at night. It was too warm to sleep comfortably. 5. We were I town for pleasure, a quick family trip to a Cubs game and visit our favorite shops. Our alarm went of the first morning at 6am. I'm a light sleeper and that was it for me. Isn't that something that's on the housekeeping list? Turnoff the alarm? In all, it's not a terrible place to stay. But we go to Chicago a few times a year. With so many options out there, we likely won't go back to this one.

An attempt to reverse the sleeping position to the end of the bed exposed staining that required a complaint to be made to the Receptionist. We were allocated another room immediately. The original room was 812. Strength of wireless reception is reduced towards the top of the hotel. The hotel was originally built as a Condo Hotel and was poorly served by the furnishings installed by the developer during the construction boom time.

They wouldn't change our room and told us that they're fully booked even though we stayed for five nights. The hotel refused to even heat up my coffee and told me it's against the law! Staff is really unresponsive and take hours to respond to the simplest requests. We weren't even helped with our bags, something you'd think is standard for a high end hotel. They wouldn't merge concurrent bookings and made us check out and check in again. Terrible and very frustrating experience. Would advise anyone against staying here.

Haven't been to this area (South Michigan to museum campus) of Chicago in years. Happy to report it has been revitalized and much cleaner than we remember.

Cons: The A/C was not cold, the room was 78 degrees when I had it set to 70. I read the instructions and did what they said to make it cold and nothing came out but warm air. Room smelled moldy.

Cons: the air conditioning in the room did NOT work! it was actually terrible, and with the placement of the windows and the sun, the room would become unbearable by 8 in the morning. i was trying to figure out the ac unit and what could be wrong, i happened to look underneath the unit and see the vent completely clogged with dust, honestly surprised it didn’t start a fire. but the room overall was not too bad, however i’m doubtful i would ever pick this location to stay again. they charge a $75 daily security deposit on top of the other fees which i was not aware of at first (my other hotel fell through last minute and i booked this one in a rush, which is why i might have not noticed the security deposit note at first), this was extremely hard on my budget for the rest of the trip, but they refunded the deposit a few days after check out! the water in the bathroom also never got to a more than comfortable temperature , it was always cold showers.

Cons: The rooms are tiny and dated. The bathtub was dirty when we arrived. The female receptionist I dealt with was one of the rudest hotel staff I’ve ever come across. My friend had a seizure and fainted at the front desk midday, was swallowing her tongue, none of the staff helped, just stood there and watched and literally did nothing but asked us if we wanted to call her an ambulance after she had already woken up. They also overcharged my friend €1,000 by claiming she hadn’t paid for a hotel room even though she clearly showed she had on her bank statement.

Cons: Our room was dirty and clearly had some sort of mold in the carpet. The carpet was even wet under the AC. Staff was not polite, especially not during check-in. Housekeeping came very early in the morning (8:30/9:00) which woke us up each day of our stay. Housekeeping also didn't clean our sheets and they forgot to put new bags in the trash cans on two occasions, which made us decide to put up the "do not disturb" sign for the rest of our stay. We also found that there were only two power outlets in the entire room that were unused, both behind a piece of furniture. The rest of the outlets were all used by lamps and appliances throughout the room. These lamps were also the only source of light in the room itself, apart from one ceiling light above the entrance. This made the room very dark, which contributed to the already drab and dark look of the room.
