not having fresh fruits (rotten fruits available) - carpet needs upgrade
The staff. Desk clerk made us very welcome & tried to make sure our visit was great. The roof top bar was fantastic.
Location is a slight problem. Getting a cab was a little slow.
We loved how close it was to Grant Park and subway stops from the airport (there's one literally around the corner on Deerborn I believe). We were in town for Lollapolooza and it took us 10-15 minutes to walk to the entrance of the festival. There's also a McDonald's and Walgreens across the street, a Starbucks next door and a Dunkin around the corner! The front desk people were FABULOUS, very helpful and always sweet! Our valet driver was super nice and helped us with directions as well :) I also appreciated the security of having to use your room card to access the elevator. Made us feel very safe!
We knew that being in the downtown area we were bound to get some street noise, we were on the eighth floor and could hear horns blaring (welcome to Chi town) and whatever music was coming out of people's speakers. That's not the hotels fault AT ALL I'd like to note, but I would recommend headphones if you're a soft sleeper like me!
Boutique style hotel with excellent service and friendly staff. Our room and bathroom were immaculate .
We had zero complaints and only praise!
I really appreciate the Hyatt standard - knowing that no matter what level hotel I am staying at it will always meet a certain standard. There were a few female staff at the check in counter who were excellent and always helpful. There was a gang of males, however, when I checked in who did not seem to represent the Hyatt commitment to customer service. They didn't tell us about the lounge on the third floor, or the bar on the roof and they were not helpful with tourist questions (how to get to places, etc.) They seemed distracted and always busy with something else when I had a question. Hotel overall was excellent location, wonderful beds, really comfortable room. And when we found the lounge, I felt like I was enjoying more of those Hyatt touches I've come to expect. I really appreciate all the women in the Hyatt family who seem like they are happy in their careers and who are helpful and attentive to guests.
The men who checked us in didn't tell us there was a lounge on the third floor and they didn't seem interested in welcoming us to Chicago or answering our questions. But there were several other people I encountered at the desk (most of them female) who were very helpful and warm.
