Not what we expected
Good location. Friendly and efficient staff.
Upon our arrival we loved the vintage aspect of the hotel. We attended a concert at the United Center and then were planning on coming back to our room for bed. When we arrived back to the hotel we discovered that there was a large Halloween party going on downstairs. When we got to the room it was almost 2am and the party was still very noisy. I googled to see if I could find info on when the party would be over. When googling our hotel, I came across several articles stating that this hotel is one of the most haunted hotels in not only Chicago, but the entire US. And come to find out we were staying on one of the most haunted floors across the hall from the most haunted room in the whole building. No wonder the room was so reasonably priced! We were totally freaked out and immediately packed our things and called a family member who lives in town to stay with. The hotel staff was understanding when we explained why we were leaving (after reading more about it we discovered that people leaving in the middle of their stay is not an uncommon occurance). Unfortunately, because we booked through kayak they were not able to refund us.
It’s classic start building the big room and nice of you I like the room service car that brought me coffee at 6:30 AM
It is a little rundown
Clean. Professional. Presentable.
I didn't like that there wasn't a microwave in the whole building.
Ridiculous for what we paid.
The view is nice lakeside.
The toilet wouldn’t flush, The bed felt like a wooden pallet wrapped in a cardboard box. The TV was microscopic compared to the distance from the bad and the size of the room. The refrigerator wouldn’t keep anything cool, and we only saw one member of staff the entire time we were staying there. Breakfast was ridiculously overpriced, and they got the order wrong. Overall, I will not be recommending this place. I didn’t like being asked if I was here for a Westworld convention. First off, there wasn’t a convention and second, people actually do wear plaid. Also, if you want to know if two men are together then don’t ask if they are brothers. Especially if the room has a king size bed. That just came across as stupid
Nice place to visit
Is a good place
I liked the atmosphere, vintage.
The room was so plain, needs pictures on the walls. Tv was tiny, basically no outlets, the bathroom had water pooling my the door, not sound proof whatsoever and they could at least have free coffee or something in the morning
Good location. Elegant lobby.
Heater did not work well. Could hear other room snoring. Toilet would run for extended amounts of time. Could hear all sorts of other pipes of showers running. Doorman did not believe that I was staying at the hotel when I was showing him my room card. Old building, renovations may need to start soon.
Haunted! For real.
Staff were nice. Cool old building with lots of history. Location is great. Cheapest price in the area.
Stayed with my 11yo and 17yo girls. We didn’t sleep because what I can only describe as “ghosts” kept bothering us. At first I thought the kids were tired and paranoid because it is an old hotel after all, but then stuff happened to me. And I was pushed in the shower and something grabbed my hair while I was sitting on the toilet. We barely slept because we kept experiencing and hearing odd things. We left as soon as we could. Was too bad because we were tired all day and now my kids are scared to stay in hotels. Book this place if you like ghosts or anything else paranormal.
Location is everything. Plumber was sent that day.
I stayed in 634, north tower. Little hot water Gym was filthy, towels everywhere. Weights in the floor. Toilet was clogged when we go there. Don't touch the Fuji water, it's 4 dollars.
Cold drink water available all the time in the lobby , the hotel is clean very polite workers, location was fine and the price for December it was perfect , it was my second time in that hotel and I will come next year too
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location.
The mattress was very uncomfortable.
Don't bother with this place, many better options
close to Soldier Field
No hot water - not even warm enough to take a shower. Slow and disengaged staff. Promised city or lake view ended up being a view of an AC unit and the parking lot for the hotel.
