Pros: It was such an amazing experience ... We had a great experience. We've been invited to a music night organized in the BnB, we received a lot of good tips on how to visit Chicago. Every breakfast was such a great moment: great food, great people (Mel over all) -- best experience in a BnB ever
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing staff, lots of history and information about the city in the room, and very welcoming and homey feel to the property. Would definitely recommend.
Good 6.7
Pros: Close to the L train.
Cons: Shared bathroom.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Mell the owner is very personable and knowledgeable about Chicago. The property has a ton of charm and a lot of history as well. I would stay here again even though it’s farther away from the city center than I would normally like to be. Uber and Lyft made it super easy! Breakfast was awesome, like being at Mom’s!
Cons: It’s a little farther to travel to central areas but worth it. The reasonable cost of the room makes up for what we spent on travel.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Authentic place, out of the ordinary. Friendly and helpfull staff.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The place is just great. Innkeeper Mell and his son Jimmy are wonderful people and they made us feel ar home. Mell prepares the breakfast himself and he is just wonderful. Place is full of antiquities, posters, nice music.
Cons: It is sad to hear that Place will be closed after August.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was much more and personal than I expected. I am a vegetarian and Mel made sure to accommodate my palate. The house was beautifully decorated, with items from the “Bronzeville” history and jazz, different masks and antiques. Mel sat with my friend and I and we talked for hours. My friend and I felt very comfortable and safe in the house and in the neighborhood. Jimmy, the housekeeper, was friendly and welcoming as well. He even went outside during a heavy rain and clear any debris from the gutters to help reduce flooding.
Good 6.7
Pros: Friendly hosts!
Cons: We had to pay for all three nights the day we reserved them. There was no exception at all for emergencies. After we stayed at this place for one night we had to return because our child was in the hospital. I probably would not stay here again because there’s no exception for emergencies.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: American Style cooked with Muesli etc

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Seating too low in Libby and rooma
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Parking was very expensive
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clem room especially the bathroom
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Ni free wifi in room
Good 6.0
Pros: The location and cleanliness
Cons: The prices for beverages was ridiculous, especially for the price of the room. At that, there was not even filtered water available. $8.00 for a bottle of VOSS?!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is the third year my family has stayed at the hotel for the Chicago marathon. We have had an excellent time each time we visited and plan on staying for the next year. Ample space for five adults and a child to have dinner in the room and talk quietly, enjoy a game of chess and relax. Thank you for your hospitality.
Cons: No real complaints that I can remember. The staff took a little while to grab extra towels for the bathroom, but with the hotel at full capacity for fighting events as well as the Chicago marathon and business guests, it is understandable that it would take a while to get fresh towels. No issues.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Room was very quiet and relaxing.
Cons: Room wasn't cleaned for 2 days. I finally called the front desk and informed them of this matter. Her first comment to me was that I was not a Marriott Bonvoy member. I asked her if this was required to have my room serviced each and every day....To her surprise, I told her that I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and she then had someone come up promptly to have my room cleaned. REALLY??!! Had room service the first evening and it looked like it came from a convenience store instead of your kitchen... Came in styrofoam containers and tea were in bottles instead of glasses of tea....worst part is that we paid $61. We no longer ordered room service for the rest of our stay.
Good 7.1
Pros: room size and lay out
Cons: - room was not always cleaned well - rubbish left in the bin, no replacement soap/shampoo - staff in breakfast restaurant inattentive
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Comfortable clean room. Quiet and relaxing.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice room, conveniently located, great security, fine restaurants.
Cons: A bit impersonal. Drinks at the bar were overpriced.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I enjoyed the Lake view from our room.
Cons: The Ice machine on our floor wasn't working so my husband had to go to the bottom floor for some ice, the mini fridge was cooling really slow, our water bottles took all day to get cold.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everthing
Cons: Nice and. Clean
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very close to where I needed to be.
Poor 1.0
Pros: Leaving the hotel for good was the best part of my stay. Room and hallways were dirty. Paper thin walls with other guests partying until 5:30 in the morning ruined my vacation.
Cons: Worst hotel experience I ever had. Lousy staff. Dirty room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean modern large room Loved that the gym had a Peloton
Cons: I wish parking was less expensive
Good 6.0
Pros: Room was clean when we arrived

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Easy access to downtown. Very clean and friendly. Breakfast was perfect for what we needed.
Cons: The only complaint was not enough drawer space for clothes.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were all friendly, helpful and always available. The shuttle relay was important given that some people do not have a car.
Cons: Without a car, finding a nearby restaurant was almost impossible. The nearby (1mile walk away) malls have no reaurants, so it is almost necessary to take the shuttle and go downtown for a snack or dinner
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I like their breakfast variety the waffles, sausage with eggs...etc, also it look very clean and organize. Also I like flafy soft comfort full size beds and pillows.
Cons: The drawers were small.
Good 7.0
Pros: Staff was very friendly. Hotel is dated, but very clean. Free parking and free 24 hour shuttle to Midway and the orange line was much appreciated
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Close to airport and clean
Cons: Bathroom dated Queen beds would be better than double
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The proximity to the Midway Airport in Chicago’s, IL.
Cons: Yes. The water in the shower/Tub was only Luke warm. No hot water was available.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I’d stay again. My plane which came in late anyway, was delayed even further. I did notify them that I would be late, and they were accommodating and made sure that I could still get into a room at two in the morning . Like the wi go and the cof
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good value for the money
Cons: N/a
Poor 1.0
Pros: Great location and convenient to Midway.
Cons: The staff is terrible. They kept me waiting at the airport shuttle pick up area for an hour telling it would be 5-10 minutes more every time I called. Then they said they were actually at the shuttle pick up waiting for me for 10 mins. Liars!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Price

Pros: The room was beautiful and your afternoon staff has been wonderful and helpful. We will definitely come again next chance we get.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This hotel was very clean. The lobby, the halls, and our room was very nice and clean. I usually find something to be grossed out about at a hotel, but definitely not this one!
Cons: The ONLY thing we did not like about this hotel is the price for valet parking.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location
Good 6.7
Pros: The staff was very nice.
Cons: The shuttle ended to early!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location for Rush Orthopedics
Cons: Checking in was a bit stressful as they initially could not find my reservation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the friendly atmosphere, clean updated room, and shuttle service to tufanos and the United centre.
Cons: Everything was fine. I suppose everything was 50 dollars and up but this is a different state and I suppose the same at home
Excellent 8.0
Pros: clean, well kept hotel
Cons: parking was an extra cost no free breakfast
Okay 5.7
Pros: Room was clean, bed was reasonably comfortable and Giant TV.
Cons: Hotel itself just seemed kind of old & in need of some refurbishing. For the price, I was expecting something a little nicer. I was stranded in Chicago overnight due to weather and had nothing with me. All the front desk could give me was a couple packets of toothpaste to brush my teeth with my finger.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Location convenient for getting into the city and down to visit our daughter in Pilsen.
Cons: Our room was on the main road opposite a building site so scenically not good and a bit noisy.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Free shuttle
Cons: Way too expensive. No continental breakfast. Cleanliness was not as I would have expected. There was a slight rancid or sewage type odor coming from my shower. Hotel overall just seemed very old

Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff was fantastic! They made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond what I expected. The location was great - I didn't feel caught up or overwhelmed in the city like I do when I get closer to downtown Chicago. 10/10
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Dave's team are so fantastic! The property is a little bit old, but the resources available including a good bed, great pillows, sheets and towels, and excellent breakfast and a very good reception make this worth the while. The breakfast was the best ever I have had in the U.S. We also have some water and coke in the refrigerator for free. The restaurant of the property is simply fantastic.
Cons: The old construction of the property and the Internet is a little bit slow.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Oh my! Where do I start? We graciously fretted at the north side gate by Kevin and young master Bentley. K Bentley took my friend’s bag and led the way up the historical stairs to our two bedroom suite. After settling in we walked to a Chinese restaurant two blocks away and felt very safe. We both slept very well and enjoyed the shower in the ball & claw bathtub. Bentley brought us coffee in the morning before heading to off to school. The 1st course was toasted cinnamon bread with warm syrup, fresh fruit and mango drink or coffee. Kevin then served scrambled eggs, hash browns and three thick pieces of perfectly prepared bacon. The restaurant was open only to guests for breakfast so we had the place to ourselves. We were so so full we will forget lunch. We will be back Dave, Kevin and Bentley! We will bring more friends and family too. Your B&B is a “MUST STAY AT” site. Feels like home.
Cons: Not one thing!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Historic building, great food/restaurant (gospel brunch on Sundays sounds like a special experience), wonderfully attentive staff/owner, very accommodating. Very comfortable bed/linens, nice to have kitchenette/fridge, has two air conditioners and fans. Feels like I moved into an historic neighborhood for a few days. If you want a comfy, if dated, getaway on the south side of Chicago, this could be a fun adventure...
Cons: This is not a hotel and it’s not modern (except Roku TV and fingerprint door lock - currently (June 2019) the fingerprint lock is malfunctioning). It’s a 100 year old building which looks and feels like a snapshot of early 20th century history. The 11th Ward room was filled with historic local memorabilia. The entrance in the alley between buildings was different for me, but seemed safe in the end. Take a look at the pictures to see if this is the place for you!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner was very nice. The rooms were clean and very elegant decor!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was very good! Staff, especially Kevin, was friendly and helpful. Room was charming and clean.
Cons: Room was on the third floor and there was a long spiral staircase to get there (no elevator), this was inconvenient, but also added to the charm of the place. It's an older building so things like this are to be expected.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The breakfast was fabulous--just too much food.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great service. Spacious suite. Delicious breakfast made to order. Complimentary ride to McCormick Place for my conference.

Pros: The location, room, and free Parking
Cons: The cleanliness of the lobby carpet.
Okay 5.0
Pros: it is near to downtown and parking available in the hotel premises
Cons: There is cigarette or weed smoke in the room that is coming from the next room or from the room down below us. we suffocated in the smoke all night and sometimes have to get up and switch off the aircon. not going to step into this hotel anymore
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Easy accessibility to downtown and free parking with stay.
Cons: Smaller pull in drive way, but not so bad.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The location
Cons: Our car window was busted and items were stolen.

Okay 5.0
Pros: The bedroom was large and the bathroom was clean, check in was quick. Overall what was expected given the cost of the room.
Cons: One can hear the highway nearby, maybe because the window of my room could not close properly. The location is not particularly great but for the cost it is good enough.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Clean, great location
Cons: Room was too small for 2 adults. 1 bunk bed(full size on bottom, twin size on top).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location. Quick walk to the United Center. Upgraded rooms, comfortable beds, friendly, knowledgeable staff regarding the activities at the United center.
Cons: The rooms were a bit small, but still worked fine for the price!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location and price. Don't expect a 5 star experience at this price....
Cons: Exactly what one would expect for the price. We stay here once or twice a year. First time I was charged for parking. But $25.00 for the night isn't that bad, compared to the rest of Chicago.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The hotel was very close to several restaurants, and also to a Target store. The room had a medium size refrigerator, so the fact that the hotel lacked a restaurant wasn't really a problem or issue. The room also had a Keurig coffee maker, so that was a great bonus.
Cons: Not much, that I can think of. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable (pillows were a little small, but that's trifling). The water pressure in the shower could be described as a strong trickle, so definitely room for improvement there. Also, there's no fan in the bathroom, so after one person takes a shower, the bathroom mirror takes a while to defog.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pet friendly
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff was excellent!!
Cons: Paying for parking
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Just the ambiance, character and the people. Reminded me of quaint boutique hotels in Europe. Would definitely return.
Cons: No breakfast but that's ok.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: No breakfast Good location Small room but confortable
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I liked the staff and feeling safe and welcoming
Cons: Room needed a table or surface to set things on
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Cleanliness, comfort & efficiency. Also, our hotel clerk, was very helpful getting us checked in
Cons: no.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location was great for what we needed.
Cons: Could have used more chairs in the room to begin with. I'm sure if we had asked they would have accommodated but since they knew there were 3 people in the room it would have been nice to have them there to begin with.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Location was great and we felt very safe. There was a public parking lot right next door that was only $27 dollars for The Whole weekend.
Cons: The floor in our room was not very clean. Lots of crumb stuff or something when walking around barefoot.

Pros: This Hotel has one of the best views of the city from China Town. It is also located right next to the China Town Center. Best value for your money (Table top fridges could have made the queen rooms more appealing) with the upgraded furniture. I got a great deal, judging by the fact that i relocated to another hotel Downtown which ended up being lile mocing from grace to grass.

Pros: Close to plenty of bars, and restaurants.
Cons: Shared bathrooms and showers was weird
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The combination of its central West Loop location and its private rooms and dorm-style communal baths makes this hostel an excellent choice for the budget-conscious traveler looking for a guaranteed good night's sleep.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location is very close to all attractions in chicago and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Everything is good except some unclean areas.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The building is old so expect that the stairs are squeaking. The room was clean spacious and comfortable. The receptionist were nice and helped with going around the city. Value for money as the location is near a bus station, subway and greyhound bus.
Cons: No elevator
Good 7.0
Pros: Staff were great and very helpful. Location great and so handy to the trains with UIC Halsted blue line just 3 min walk down the street.
Cons: The rooms could have been cleaner and the bathroom and hall and stairwell doors need "catches" installed so they don't slam closed. Every time someone passes through, the slam shakes the walls disturbing you so you can't sleep :(
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything....
Excellent 10.0
Pros: That was the best hostel I've ever been too. Thanks to the stuff! Highly recommend.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice staff. The hostal was clean and placed in a good position for visiting the city.
Cons: nothing to declare
Okay 4.0
Pros: Open for check in 24 hours Proximity to Union Station
Cons: Extreme economy
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Good place because metro lines and buses terminal are not far and you can go to the Loop walking.
Cons: The air conditionning did not work. We left food in the fridge, someone stole it. The fire detector of the room was out of service (on morre battery) and we had to disconnect it ourselves. They did not even give for free the bagage facility even after!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: location was nice, near center and as a greek I totally enjoyed being around the greek town.
Cons: i think it was a value for money stay
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location, staff, room, value

Okay 5.0
Pros: It's proximity to downtown Chicago was great. Free parking was a plus. Secured access to floor was reassuring, as not the best neighborhood.
Good 6.0
Pros: The only thing that was good about this place was the staff and the restaurant next door, it was close to what we were going to see but way over priced.
Cons: It was old
Poor 1.0
Cons: It was very bad not clean , mold , walls was peeling the bath tub had hair in cold not takin a bad very gross the neighborhood was very scary out there was a died was a black bird out side saw the cleaning guy just around it and was still ,not happy
Poor 1.0
Cons: The staff was rude to my friend. Her name was listed, I had already paid and money was already taken from my account. I ask for the manager and was told that she made her own hours and would maybe there the next day at noon. The room was not clean. The telephone did not work and was dirty. I was told that none of the phones worked. The room was cold , had to ask for more covers for the night . The price I paid certainly did not match the quality of this motel or the service.
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: Arrived at 3:30, room was supposed to be ready at 2, it was ready at 4 PM. The pillow cases had makeup on them, the bathroom floors and toilet were disgusting. I had to call and ask for a towel to clean the bathroom myself. The lady did not even offer to clean it, but instead gave me a towel and spray bottle and new pillow cases and apologized because she thought someone else was supposed to change them. it was terrible. the rooms are old and have a wired smell. The room was next to a Main Street and it was so loud all night, could not sleep at all. The rooms are very old and the place overall is very dirty and in the worst part of town. save your money, pay a little extra and get a nice place.
Good 7.4
Pros: It was clean and comfy. Big rooms, mini fridge and microwave.
Cons: Getting into the parking lot was confusing for us out of towners. A little dated.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The location is great; a big grocery store is nearby (Mariano’s) and the green line train is in walking distance so we got everywhere within 30 min ising public transportation.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The size of the room
Cons: All the drug traffic the door to our room was off the hinges no mirror in bathroom hall smelled of urine the clerk didn’t acknowledge us at check in was outside talking with friends until I asked her to come help us
Okay 5.8
Cons: No television service, fridge wasn’t cold, window leaked while raining.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location and the size
Cons: No
Poor 1.0
Cons: Half ceiling leaked, bathroom sink was clogged upon checking in, window was broke and wouldn't shut. Front desk was extremely rude at check in and my concern about room. Floor was soaked from leak. Lights were broke. I have pictures upon request of issues
Okay 4.0
Pros: What I like the best about this motel is the location! 10 minutes away from downtown Chicago and Across the street from a great restaurant (Chicago BBQ xpress ) and the parking was absolutely free!
Cons: The motel is pretty ran down, the privacy lock on the door was broken , we called the service desk and the attendant said she will send security to look at the lock to fix it and nobody ever came ! The phone in the motel cord was janky and the iron broken

Okay 4.2
Pros: It is close to the train station
Cons: The bed is uncomfortable. The room is bare. I feel ripped off.
Good 7.0
Pros: The location is the best with restaurants open after 12am. What a deal
Cons: The room was small, but bearable.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Much cleaner than expected for a 2 star hotel. Great value. Close to metro.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Incredibly good value for the price. Very clean, spotless rooms, very great location. Also lots of great restaurant options in the immediate vicinity and an easy walk or car share ride to the convention center.
Cons: One tiny thing: I didn't receive a washcloth with my towels, and there were some repairs needed to the inside of the shower. The showerhead could be replaced, for example. But not enough to dull the experience!
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: location, near the Convention Center, in China Town for good food. Should be listed as a boarding house.
Cons: No amenities at all? No wash cloths. No coffee machine, in room or loby. TV was just over the size of my I-Pad. No elivator. when returning from the trade show, walking up to Hotel, thru a hotel window, "hello Baby" was called out? Rubbers on front desk.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I like the environment and the cleanliness of everything
Cons: Nothing to complain about
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Yes it was very cozy . The room was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. I got there earlier than the check in time and they were kind enough to let me in. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. It was worth the price I paid for. I was a little iffy with booking a room there because some people put bad reviews but it wasn't at all how they said it was.
Cons: There was actually nothing that I didn't like about it. I was very satisfied with my stay
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location was awesome, as I am a native Chicagoan, and have always loved China Town. Not only that it is very convenient to get to any location, north, south, east or west. So I will always use the CHINATOWN HOTEL.
Cons: There was nothing that I did not like about the Chinatown Hotel. It has always been a place that I have enjoyed staying in. Not only because of its location but because of the price and the respect given by the staff.
Good 6.0
Pros: Cool area
Cons: Smelled a little, small and old.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Location only.
Cons: Customer service. Cheap facilities. Room & bath quality.
Poor 1.0
Pros: Only the location - if you are Ok with this environment.
Cons: Avoid this hotel. Dirty like the ones in rural Asian villages. I washed out small roach in bathroom. Smell of cigarette, plastic bag was on the fire alarm to conceal. Very noisy from parties in other rooms. No hairdryer. Everything is old and dirty.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Nope
