Pros: Our room was beautiful with a spectacular city view. Complete functioning kitchette which we did not take advantage of because we were only there one night but would have been great for a three day weekend stay.
Staff was friendly and professional. We had a light fixture broken in our bathroom when we first arrived and they had it replaced and room service had cleaned the glass up in under 20 mins. Impressive for an operation this size.

Pros: I had booked a 'Deluxe' room with city view and got a good deal via booking.com. Based on the (very) positive reviews here I was at first a bit disappointed. There was nothing wrong with the room, in fact it is rather spacious, but in the end it was rather basic and maybe not as good as I had expected. I then asked for an upgrade and for a small additional fee changed my reservation to a 'Superior' room with river view - and this room was really very nice. It is much more modern than the 'Deluxe' room, the bathroom is amazing and overall its just more luxurious and definately worth the extra fee. My recommendation: they have 'superior' rooms that have bathtub and shower combined and some that have them apart. The rooms that have them apart are apparently nicer but there are also not so many of those. Furthermore, the gym is very good and modern, apparently it has been renovated recently.

Trendy - not your conventional décor. The tiles in the shower set it apart from molded walls in many hotels. Argan line of toiletries provided.
Fitness Center - small but adequately equipped.
Activities - we took advantage of the architectural tour which was informative. There were other interesting activities we would have joined but we didn't have the time.

Pros: I chose Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park because of its location and good reputation. After my stay at the hotel I am glad that I made a right choice. When I was checking into the hotel there was some confusion about my reservation. I reserved two rooms but the hotel reservation system showed only one room under my name. After I presented my two hotel reservation vouchers and email communication the front desk manager quickly gave me two rooms without unnecessary delay (the room types were exactly what I requested when I made my reservation). Pros: We visited Chicago to see Hamilton. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to restaurants and attractions, very close to the Private Bank Theater where Hamilton is playing. We arrived slightly early and worried about getting into our room, but the staff were able to accommodate us. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly. The self-park was included in our stay and very convenient. We had a king bed room which was very nice and clean. Overall very pleased!

Pros: When I called for help with the Internet, I quickly received explicit instructions how to fix the problem. After I thanked them and hung up, I followed the directions and it worked immediately. 5 minutes later, the person who had helped me called me back to make sure I was able to solve the problem. That has NEVER happened to me in 40 years of travel. Extraordinary service that made a HUGE positive impression on me.

Pros: Had a great stay. The have stayed at the Palmer House twice and both times I have been lucky enough to have a renovated room; during this stay I was on the 20th fl. My collegues were not so lucky and in fact were dissapointed with their rooms and the cleanliness of the actual floor they stayed on (19th).

For me it is the little things that irritate me when it comes to service. Do what you say you are going to do. The book int he room says the shop int he lobby is open until 10pm but it was closed at 7pm and then the next day it was closed at 4pm. Again, frustrating.
