Pros: The lodge is beautiful however the food didn’t meet our expectation and the price is too costly for a lodge like that....

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the lodge is everything, it is so peaceful and serene. We got to sleep with the curtains open as there is literally ZERO light pollution. You are sleeping amongst nature and stillness. This is a place where you slow down and read and relax and just enjoy being still. The meals are all included in the room rate and everything we ate was divine! We got massages in our room which were outstanding and a highlight of our stay, really put us in the right mode to make the most out of our short stay. Special mention to Suz who was very helpful and gave us some great local advice!
Cons: I think the mini bar beverages should be upgraded. For a premium lodge the mini bar options should reflect that and they didn't. Also there was no french champagne available by the glass which was disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning setting and amazing place to relax. Highly recommend the room with outside bathtub overlooking the lake. Hosts where very accommodating and genuine. Food also very nice.
Cons: Everything was great

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good clean motel. Meet our needs.
7.5 Good
Pros: The motel is in a good location, close to all of Rotorua’s touristy attractions, with a car. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is friendly, very nice, and helpful.
Cons: We were in room next to the pool. While we were staying at the motel, there were a few families, traveling together, who were staying there, as well. They were at the pool from morning to night and they were very loud people who played very loud music. When they went through gate to the pool, it would bang closed - and they went in and out every 10 minutes. Having a room next to the pool, this was all very annoying. Fortunately, that had to stop at 10:00 pm. In a room without air conditioning, windows are necessary for cooling the room. The one bedroom spa apartment does not have good air flow, even with a fan in the door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation was lovely! Rooms were a great size, good location and good facilities. The best part was the lovely staff, so helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
Cons: We liked everything

Pros: Friendly staff. Clean room.
Cons: A bit far from the main area of the city.

6.7 Good
Pros: The location. Is a small city, everything is close anyway
Cons: Very expensive place. More than $200 per night without breakfast. $30 a breakfast. The facilities has pool but the whether is never propitious to use.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location in the heart of the city, off street parking, large room, comfy bed, friendly staff.
Cons: Our room was on the roadside so we did get a lot of noise after the local pubs closed. We could also hear the people next door through the connecting door.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location just around the corner from eat street, super attentive staff, spacious room, very clean. Nice decor, has been recently refurbished in modern style. Great private mineral pool, very hot.
Cons: It’s a shame they didn’t double glaze the windows and install sound proof doors when the building was upgraded. Could hear all the noise from the hallway and bathroom of adjacent room, as well as the garden bar down the road which made for interrupted sleep.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Rooms and service.
Cons: Nothing not to like.

I have never had a more amazing hotel stay and experience in all of my international travels.
Cons: I wouldn't change anything

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were on the edge of the lake and loved the location and attentive staff. It was a beautiful view . Facilities for the guests were nice and the lounge / breakfast area a great gathering place.
Cons: For the area and price I would have expected some springs or something more Rotorua.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was lovely with a beautiful view from our room. Information on activities, restaurants etc was good. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Good water activities such as kayaks were available.
Cons: We found our welcome a little off hand, with more attention being paid to our credit card than us. We introduced ourselves & were then asked our surname again. We had to ask the host his name. There were communal tea/ coffee making facilities but no biscuits or little treats. We were not informed that we could have used the breakfast area ( where there was a cosy lounge) to watch a movie at night. Although breakfast was lovely, there was no welcoming smile or chatter from the staff.

Holdens Bay Holiday Park - Rotorua - Bedroom
4
8.3 Excellent (156 reviews)
6.3 Good
Cons: We had 3 self contained units. 2 of the 3 units kitchens were very poorly equipped with kitchen cooking utensils. The decking was in need of repairs and kids got large splinters from it. As for price it is expensive for what you get but Rotorua accommodation is expensive all over. The shared hot spa tubs were very cloudy and had a high dose of chlorine in them. We did not use these. The camp kitchens, BBQs and camp bathrooms were kept clean. The listing says no dogs but several dogs were allowed and present. All in all apart from a few issues the accommodation served our purposes as we spent very little time during the days here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to a larger unit with more single beds rather than bunks which was much better seeing travelling with adult children.
Cons: All fine, near airport but knew of this and there were no late night/early morning flights.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Our unit was in a great location right next to the playground, pools and entry. Comfy beds. Great large tv room with pool table, kids area etc.
Cons: The playground wasn't very good for young children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the customer service. Room was clean and tidy. Pool was amazing too.
Cons: No remote in room but staff did there best and found a new one ASAP.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have never seen an establishment that is so clean!!! It was absolutely immaculate, a huge credit to the housekeeping staff :)
Cons: I can honestly say there is absolutely nothing I didn't like
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was decent, Japanese rice walls, two rooms, kitchen, couch.
Cons: Beds need updating, all good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice cosy and safe place to stay. They have a 24 hour accessible laundry room and a huge drying area if you want to do your laundry.
Cons: The location isn't very central so you need to give allowance for travelling time to the town centre.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable. There was also a hot tub!
Cons: Staff were not very friendly at first.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A good location to walk out to the centre. However it is not next to “eat street “ as other hotels are . The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: I thought about using the pool but when I returned from a walk at around 3.30pm the cover was over the pool. I don’t know the reason why as the receptionist was busy at the time and I did not ask . Also the hairdryer in the room might have been faulty as it only stays on for a few seconds before cutting out . I reported this to the receptionist in checking out who agreed to look at it .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed warmly as soon as we walked in. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We can’t fault anything for our stay. I wish we would have stayed more than one night and enjoyed the facilities more such as the pools and the restaurant.
Cons: None.

7.9 Good

Pros: This hotel was better than I expected. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We didn't get to stay in the Victorian building but our room was still great with many extras to make the stay comfortable....the beds were the best I think I have experienced in any hotel!

Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua - Rotorua - Building
3
8.2 Excellent (4,447 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Sudima Lake Rotorua is the largest hotel in Rotorua, and is set right on the shores of beautiful Lake Rotorua. The hotel is also adjacent to the world famous Polynesian Spa complex, Rotorua Museum and Government Garden, and just a short stroll from the Rotorua Convention Centre, the Energy Event Centre and Rotorua's vibrant city centre.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location as far as accessibility goes. Staff were friendly
Cons: Unfortunately the smell of the sulphate even though the aircon was off still came into the room making sleeping hard
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good right next to the Polynesian Spa. Lots of parking. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was very clean.
Cons: I expected more from a 4 star hotel. The beds were hard and not comfortable at all. We had a premium room recently refurbished but it seems fairly normal not premium.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location near Lake Rotorua, Government Gardens, shops & restaurants Very friendly & helpful staff Great breakfast & buffet dinner in hotel restaurant Good value overall with breakfast included in tariff
Cons: Room air conditioner struggled to cool room to comfortable level, even when set to minimum Very hot water came out of basin cold tap at times, & took 1 to 2 minutes to cool down
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is quite near the lake, good for taking sunrise and sunset photos, not far from town but also very quiet
Cons: A little dated, the swimming pool was small and smelly. I didn't even want to go into the private sauna rooms, as they looked like more like toilet cubicles with chipped wooden doors.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room met expectations and was good.
Cons: The hotel parking was very limited. The hotel is on the lake, but a rather smelly unattractive inlet of the lake rather than the main part adjacent to the city centre. The large hotel reception area had no printed information, leaflets etc as is normally standard. The family room we booked (for the two of us) was in fact two adjoining rooms which perhaps explains the high price. Two of the four ceiling lights in our room were not working (bulbs) which we brought to the attention of reception but nothing had been done when we left two days later. Poor.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was clean, and the couple of staff members that we were in contact with were very friendly.
Cons: The property needs an update - the area wasn’t the best, it was quite smelly which Rotarua can be, but the city centre wasn’t while where the Sudima was located was. I felt that this property was overpriced.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location and view
Cons: The place is old and tired
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was very clean and the staff extremely helpful
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good

7.0 Good
Pros: Great location. Very clean. Great facilities (gym and pool).
Cons: No coffee in room or lobby - and at the prices for the room , thought some would be available. Once at hotel - saw room prices for much less than what I paid which was disappointing.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Plates for hot food are always cold
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, rooms are comfortable, lounge and bar cosy and inviting
Cons: The reception staff is very friendly, but understaffed, >30minutes wait to check in, and more than 15 minutes to check out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was close to everything we needed ! Everything we wanted to do was walking distance if not walking distance it was only up the road.
Cons: The carpark isnt the best, deffinately need a back door or something for the back carparks. And carparks are also too narrow getting inbetween trucks or cars that cant park properly was abit tight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All went well, nice place to stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the hot pools and room is comfy.
Cons: N/A
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location and close to a range of food outlets. Beds are comfortable
Cons: Perhaps not quite the standard of other Novotel properties I have used. Wind whistled around the windows in the bedroom. Paid wifi should be a thing of the past now. No bottled water. For the price, these should be standard fare.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great Location and abundant parking.
Cons: Terrible bathrooms with very old fittings and very bad shower, WC etc. Felt like a total waste of money. The breakfast was quite average in terms of quality of breads etc. Example, the croissant was soggy, terrible coffee machine with the worst coffee I had across my entire New Zealand trip. The breakfast was a total waste of money. I would recommend Pic Nic, a small breakfast place right next to the property which is great and even the hotel staff eats there only!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed was amazing Convenient to food and restaurants and main city streets Parking plentiful
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Simple, comfort room with excellent location to restaurants and parks.
Cons: Room is quite small for family of four
