Pros: Our room was beautiful with a spectacular city view. Complete functioning kitchette which we did not take advantage of because we were only there one night but would have been great for a three day weekend stay. Staff was friendly and professional. We had a light fixture broken in our bathroom when we first arrived and they had it replaced and room service had cleaned the glass up in under 20 mins. Impressive for an operation this size. Within walking distance to many desired locations.

Pros: Service staff never made me feel like I was a bother. I loved the spacious and newly remodeled room we stayed in. Beautiful bump out bay window with breathtaking views of the river and Lake Michigan. Bathroom had very high end finishes, and also included a television in the mirror!
Cons: The maintenance guy who tried to fix a broken bathroom light was using very profane language as he failed at repairing the light. However, this staff member's behavior scored us a free upgrade from city view - to river lake view - so it all worked out.

Pros: The staff was extremely helpful with everything from directions to meal preferences. The quality of atmosphere was also very good. The decor and views from the hotel were better than anywhere I've ever stayed.
Cons: The pool area was not on par with the essence or ambiance of the rest of the hotel, with the lack of hot tub areas and the extreme plainness of the pool area compared to the rest of the hotel.
"Located in Lakeview, this hotel is 0.1 mi (0.1 km) from Wrigley Field, and within 9 mi (15 km) of Navy Pier and Chicago Theatre. Art Institute of Chicago and Willis Tower are also within 9 mi (15 km). Addison Station (Red Line) is only a 4-minute walk and Sheridan Station is 11 minutes. "

Pros: Beautifully designed hotel in a great location right across the street from Wrigley field. An unbelievable number of dining options packed into a 1 block space. You can’t beat the location and the prices around Christmas.
Cons: Everything about this hotel seems to be designed to separate Cubs fans from their money. The hotel part of this building really feels like an afterthought. Even though it’s been open less than a year, our junior suite was beat up. The door handle to the bathroom was falling off, the wand for the drapes was on the floor, and the TV worked intermittently. High parking prices in Chicago hotels are normal, but $53/night with no in-out is crazy. Also no refrigerator or coffee maker in the room, I suspect they’re trying to drive you to the bakery on the first floor.

Pros: Extra friendly staff and location to Wrigley Field were the best parts of this hotel
Cons: Rather pricey, but the view is so fun!
"Located in The Loop, this luxury hotel is steps away from Chicago Riverwalk and Michigan Avenue. Grant Park and Chicago Theatre are also within 10 minutes. Clark-Lake Station is 7 minutes by foot and State Station is 8 minutes. "

Pros: The rooftop bar is amazing...during the winter, however, the lounge is enclosed and not much to talk about. Our room had a gorgeous view of the river, the bed was comfortable, linens were great, and the big tv was like being in bed at a movie theatre. The workout facility was very cool, like a trip to the future. Great stay, we would do it again for sure.

Pros: Location was great.
Cons: We went to this hotel so we could have access to the rooftop lounge. They made it very hard for everyone by saying that it’s Booked all year but if you come and wait in a ridiculous line for a few hours you will get in. Are you booked or not? Another thing was the shower water that took very long to get hot.

Pros: My son and I had a great stay at London House! It is located perfectly and is within walking distance or a short Uber ride of Navy Pier, Millenium Park, OTC. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and staff was friendly!
Cons: We tried to eat at the hotel restaurant to avoid going out in a storm. The restaurant is more of a bar setting and the menu is not family friendly. Needless to say we braved the storm, got soaked! Great memory! Lots of good places to eat around the hotel.

Pros: Bed was super comfy; lay out was nice. I enjoyed the location. Felt very fancy with great views
Cons: We checked in early and dropped off our bags, no problem. Then we got the notification that our room and digital key was ready, so we made our way back. When we tried to get our bags, no one was there to talk to so we had to go to the front desk and they were going to send them up. We went upstairs with our digital key ready and it didn't work. We had to go back to the front desk, only to have the staff not believe us that it didn't work. They gave us a regular key and we went back upstairs. I had wanted to freshen up but the bags had not arrived. We waited about half an hour but ended up going back to the front desk to remind them to send the bags up. After that, the stay was fine until I was over charged for the room and had to call the hotel to get the correct charges.

Pros: Modern, relatively new, comfortable room except for shower head. Nice staff but had to wait on my room way past the 4p check-in time. Staff gave me water and premium internet because I had to wait so long for room.
Cons: I have the Hilton app and credit card. I was allowed to pick my room, so I did on the app. I did not get the room I selected. I arrived early. Was told my room was not ready. By 4 p (check-in time) it was not ready; not ready by 4:45p (yet I saw several checking in at 4p). I had to leave for dinner and opera (couldn't change into the intended clothes because of the room not ready). Shower head doesn't allow for focused stream; took a while to rinse thick hair.

Pros: Love, love, love this hotel. Fantastic location. Professional and very friendly staff. Clean, modern rooms. Absolutely love it.

Cons: Soundproofing could be better, for something so new, too many items weren't working.

9.1
Pros: The fact that I was offered a room upgrade for approximately $100 in totally (all 3 nights combine) and great views.
Cons: The fact that this upgrade was right against an elevator on the 11th floor (1101). Throughout the stay, you could hear the elevator go up and down, the guest talking loud coming out and going into their hallways. But importantly for a Photographer, that giant TRUMP sign taking away from my cityscape photos. My suggestion would be to place any upgrades away from the main hall where the elevator is and to ask the guest questions such as, “Is this your anniversary or honeymoon “.

Pros: Rooftop bar and restaurant were excellent with must-see views. Spacious room with a great shower, nespresso machine, and a very comfortable bed.
Cons: Room faced Michigan Ave and was very noisy (sirens, etc.) A white noise machine would have been helpful.
Our unique and recently renovated hotel designed by French architect Jean-Paul Viguier is a 32-floor prism of glass featuring stunning views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline.

Pros: The rooms were nice, but our room had not been properly cleaned. There was an empty wine bottle in the trash, a stain on the carpet, and dirt on the bedspread. The location is great for exploring the city. A block from Michigan Ave, the beach, and Rush street.
Cons: The customer service was not good. We waited 30-45 minutes for our bags to be brought up to our room and finally had to go down to get them. There were two bellmen standing in the lobby doing nothing and our luggage was just sitting there. As mentioned the room was not properly cleaned which is never a good feeling when you are staying in a hotel. I requested a late check-out and was immediately told "No due to someone else staying in our room and they needed to clean it". He then asked what room we were staying in. He again said it wasn't possible as someone was staying in that room and they would need to clean it. When we checked out I forgot a brand new shirt I bought while staying there. I rarely hang things in the closet and had done so since it was a new shirt. I realized this the next day and called and again was given horrible customer service. They told me it was not in the room and that nobody stayed in that room the night before so they couldn't help me. Obviously, the maid who cleaned that room took it, but they accepted no responsibility for that. Not to mention they couldn't give us a late check-out due to another guest needing the room. It's a shame the customer service was so bad because it is a nice hotel in a great area of the city.

Pros: I liked the sofitel before because it had this amazing smell wafting through the entire building especially in the lobby that I loved so much my friend found out what they were using and turns out they were using a scent from a French perfumery which made the whole feeling even more glamorous than it was already. My friend ended up gifting me a candle from the very same perfumery that was the exact scent of the Sofitel Chicago location!
Cons: The scent was missing from the hotel, this was the main thing I was looking forward to and was very disappointed in that there was no luxurious scent to go with a luxurious hotel.

Pros: Concierge, door men excellent.
Cons: Paying for with fi? Really...at these prices? Terrible. $10.00 to use 15 min. Had no idea. Showed up on statement. Housekeeping fine first night but 2nd night left our duvets on floor and when we called to report they actually asked what we would like them to do about it. After telling them we wanted some new duvets a maid came and complied. Next day we returned to find all of our pillows with shams gone...not a functional problem since we still had pillows to sleep on but since they are part of the decor we weren't sure what that was all about. They were on the bed when we left that morning. Overall the room was quiet but I think we could do better next time. Hotel being renovated so maybe the reno rooms will blow you away...ours did not. Other than housekeeping staff the rest of staff was helpful but could have been more accommodating when we missed a night of our reservation due to being snowed in at airport in philly and unable to get there. If they couldn't refund a night of our pre paid room we thought we might have recd a complimentary night in future. They told us to ask price line about that but price line pushed it back to them...

Pros: The location was great. North end of the loop, near the Art Institute and Millennium Park, and just south of the shopping district along Michigan Ave. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and consistent with a hotel of this calibre.
Cons: The facility basically seems to be understaffed. While all the staff were friendly and helpful when you finally reached them, the guest services number always went to voicemail and they never seemed to return the calls. The first room they placed me in had water leaking at an alarming rate out of the air conditioner, and it took me three visits to the desk asking for someone to investigate it, which they never did, before they finally ended up just moving me to a different room with double beds instead of a king. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:25am on the last morning of my stay when I was trying to sleep in, very frustrating for a hotel that bills itself as a luxury hotel.

Pros: I booked a room in Chicago at the Swissotel for two nights and after reading the horror stories about kayak bookings through getaroom, I was a bit apprehensive. Based on my travel plans and circumstances, I was able to risk it and make other lodging plans if necessary, so I risked the inconvenience of whatever troubles getaroom might cause me. Fortunately, I did not run into any troubles at all and had a wonderful stay at a luxurious hotel that is in a great location. I received all the service and privileges of a normal stay at the Swissotel.

Pros: Clean. Friendly staff. Location is great.
Cons: The beds were well used. I slept in a very deep impression in the bed. The mattresses were covered with a duvet placed under a top sheet (instead of a fitted sheet) I assume to make the mattresses feel more comfortable and less lumpy. It was the worst mattress I've ever slept in in a hotel. Poor parking options. $125 for two days (non valet) No roof top bar or pool. Charges for any local outgoing calls or 1-800 #'s. A little thing, but a main bulb was burnt out in the bathroom and it wasn't changed before or during my stay. Made the bathroom quite dark. The tub facet dripped constantly.

Pros: Location was superb for downtown Chicago. Easy walk to Milenium Park & Michigan Ave shopping. River view room was great! Price was nice. Room was cool, cozy. Down feather beds but could've used a fitted sheet on bed instead of a 2 flats? Pool was a little run down could use some sprucing up. Spa staff super friendly. Sauna nice.
Cons: Check in was uncomfortable. My family requested an early check in first thing in morning thru Kayak. We drove several hours with young children & wanted to get to the Chi & settle in for our short visit. I was told thru text an early check in couldn't be guaranteed. We lived in Chicago, spouse a native so we didn't mind finding something to do. We arrived at 11:30 after having breakfast in Lincoln Park by the zoo. It was raining so we decided to try to check in early. I took my place in line. Another lady walked up to the only staff attended desk & stepped between the woman already getting service & myself. She proceeded ahead of me & I spoke up. She huffed & puffed. As if I was inconveniencing her. Worse off the staff member states he didn't know who was next but she just needs to swap her key and I could wait since my check in would take longer! I protested but she was serviced while I continued to wait! When it was my turn I was told I couldn't check in, I was 9th in line, & we couldn't expect a room for at least 2 hours... unless we chose a room to small or we paid $75 for a suite! I removed myself from line & called my spouse. I returned to line moments later to a different staff member, Ricardo. He immediately set us up with the room we needed & handed me keys! Amazing the difference a minute makes! Thanks Ricardo! Later that evening we saw the woman who stepped in front of me & received preference from staff. She was in full pilot uniform leaving the hotel. She hosed past me looking like an angry pitbull. Despite the great location and family friendly atmosphere we might never go back. There are too many other places to choose from!

Pros: The location is fantastically located between Magnificent Mile and the museum campus. It was easy to get to and offered stunning views!
Cons: The hotel room lacked basic amenities. There was no coat rack in the room. In the unpredictable Chicago weather, our weathered coats needed a place to dry. Housekeeping was stingy on towels, shampoo, and coffee. One tiny bottle of shampoo for a potential of 3 days worth of showers for a family will not cut it. They also did not replenish our coffee. When we asked for more coffee, they brought up 1 Keurig cup of coffee, 2 coffee cups, and 3 sugar and cream packages, which did not make any sense. Also be aware that they add $80 per night to your card for incidentals.

Pros: I stayed here for business and also leisure. I chose this hotel based off of location and it was perfectly placed near all of the great tourism spots in the city. I walked everywhere all weekend, which is a great way to burn off all the delicious food Chicago has to offer. The view from the room of the city and the Chicago river is spectacular. The hotel staff was extremely nice, accommodating and the rooms were very clean.
Cons: The parking fee to keep your car there during your stay is astronomical. We received a note card saying we get a "free gift" for staying there in our room the first morning we were there. When we turned it in, it was a free vacation only if you were over 28 and married and your spouse was staying with you, which I didn't qualify for as my spouse was at home. Because of that, I received one drink with an appetizer purchase (so not a free gift if you have to buy something ) at the hotel resturant. I think gimmicks like this are insulting and a waste of the guests time.

Pros: The staff was excellent. Very helpful, respectful, and pleasant. The doorman, Mark, had exceptional guest service skills. I felt completely taken care of.
Cons: The room was hot and muggy, which didn't change despite having the thermostat set as low as it would go. The elevators took FOREVER. It was not uncommon to wait 10-15 minutes once calling the elevator to have it arrive. Food in the hotel was fine, nothing special and expensive.

Pros: The room was very clean with all the facilities we needed. The concierge was only somewhat helpful as she did not know the city as well as my phone! Good restaurant tied to the hotel
Cons: As with all hotels, too pricey! Very small front desk area that made it quite crowded when using the Lobby.
"Located in River North, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Chinese Consulate, Holy Name Cathedral and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Museum of Contemporary Art and Water Tower Place are also within 15 minutes. Grand Station (Red Line) is only a 2-minute walk and Chicago Station (Red Line) is 6 minutes. "

Pros: Great location - within walking distance of many attractions, like The House of Blue, Chicago Riverwalk, Magnificent Mile, and eateries. Also conveniently located for public transportation - within one block of the "L" System and close to many bus lines. Trendy - not your conventional décor. The tiles in the shower set it apart from molded walls in many hotels. Argan line of toiletries provided. Fitness Center - small but adequately equipped. Activities - we took advantage of the architectural tour which was informative. There were other interesting activities we would have joined but we didn't have the time.
Cons: Our room was tight. The queen bed pretty much took up the whole space. Not a lot of surface on which to put things. Small closet had only two hangers. My husband did not find the bed comfortable - the mattress was relatively thin and on a platform (instead of box spring).

Pros: The hotel was very clean and in a good location
Cons: They need better security. I stayed in a four person dorm and one of the guys in the dorm brought his girlfriend over to sleep in his top bunk bed so there was five people in the room. Then they started having sex while I was getting ready to sleep. I quickly got up and left the room for like 20 mins hoping that when I got back they would be done but they were still going at it and in fact was getting louder, so loud I could hear them from outside the room. I got annoyed because it was like 11pm and I had to get up really early the next day so I just went in the room, got my bags and went down stairs and asked the front desk to switch rooms. They were really nice and quickly changed me to a different dorm. The rest of my stay was really nice.

Pros: I chose Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park because of its location and good reputation. After my stay at the hotel I am glad that I made a right choice. When I was checking into the hotel there was some confusion about my reservation. I reserved two rooms but the hotel reservation system showed only one room under my name. After I presented my two hotel reservation vouchers and email communication the front desk manager quickly gave me two rooms without unnecessary delay (the room types were exactly what I requested when I made my reservation). The hotel front desk manager and staff were very courteous while they were trying to sort it out. I and my family had a great stay there. It's location and free room wi-fi connection were excellent.

Pros: I will be a Fairmont customer for life. Anytime I am to stay in a hotel, I will be looking to see if there is a Fairmont location available. The staff is always accommodating and VERY polite. I cannot praise them enough. Even the representatives on the phone were extremely helpful. I thank those that assisted in my experience with the most sincere gratitude I can express.
Cons: I cannot say anything unkind about this hotel. I notice that some reviewers have stated things like the ceiling is water-stained and there's some damage to this or that. Honestly, I just told the service desk about there being a slight water stain on the ceiling in the bathroom. Other than that I didn't have any issues, and this is my second time staying at this hotel. Really though, are you staying in a hotel because you want the entire room to look brand new? Please redirect yourself to a room in another hotel that costs around 3 times the price of what the Fairmont's rates are. I assure you, for the price offered for the rooms in this hotel, you will not find a better experience.

Pros: I don't recomend for people who go in a group of people!
Cons: I went there with 3 more friends. They gave us a room with only 1 bed. CAN YOU SLEEP 4 people in 1 bed? Or do you prefer to sleep in a couch? That's what they said; "sorry, but that's what is available" WHO PAYS A DAMN EXPENSIVE ROOM TO SLEEP IN A COUCH?

Pros: Good access to Chicago attractions
Cons: #1 WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Room price was average to low for area. But restaurant was mediocre and priced straight insulting, $29 for a buffet with no omelette bar, no fresh Oj, nothing fresh. Worst buffet for the money ever. #2. No snacks on floors and $5 for 20 Pringles potato chips. No snack food in area especially late night. Room service slow and speedy. #3. $70 for parking. No validation or discount for hotel customers, across the street its $35 also borderline insulting

Pros: The parking garage is located right next door and was very easy to access. No need to spend money on valet parking, unless you don't like carrying your luggage. Parking next door was 1/2 the cost. (About $35 per day). Safe area. Great location!

Pros: We visited Chicago to see Hamilton. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to restaurants and attractions, very close to the Private Bank Theater where Hamilton is playing. We arrived slightly early and worried about getting into our room, but the staff were able to accommodate us. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly. The self-park was included in our stay and very convenient. We had a king bed room which was very nice and clean. Overall very pleased!

Pros: The room was clean, though very dark, and the bed was comfortable. As others have pointed out, it is within walking distance of most downtown shopping areas and about half an hour from the Magnificent Mile.
Cons: The front desk staff were clipped and curt, which was unexpected, and made for a chilly welcome to the Windy City. As mentioned, the room was darker than expected, and the two outlets for charging equipment were located along the far wall, underneath the desk, which had a drawer that would not close. This drawer's corners caused several near-accidents, unsurprisingly. The bathroom was clean and pleasantly designed, but very small. We were dissatisfied with the room service and front desk experience. When we ordered breakfast, we expected more than a few eggs on an English muffin, and we received two small scones, rather than our order of a scone and a croissant. When this was mentioned at checkout, I was told that a manager would give me a call, which never happened.

Pros: Location was excellent and bed was super comfortable!
Cons: Parking at the hotel was $65 a night and didnt find this out till I saw a $533 charge on my room. At no point did they mention it.... also its $10 if you want a microwave in your room which I feel is a cheap trick for a hotel like this.

Pros: I booked the Whitehall because I found an amazing deal for a standard king bed, when we arrived the front desk clerk was so sweet to us! she asked why we were staying at their hotel, and I mentioned it was a surprise date for my boyfriends graduation from college and acceptance to grad school and she upgraded us to a junior suite for free!!!! It was amazingly spacious and comfortable. They were so kind and were willing to upgrade us without hesitation. The room was clean and it was great to have bath robes and an umbrella we could use during the rain and thunderstorms at night while still enjoying the city!
Cons: The bed was squeaky whenever we rolled over in the night, but it was really comfortable despite that. I can't complain for the free upgrade to a suite!

Pros: Good price for the weekend, nice view of the Hancock, neat they have options for food and drinks downstairs.
Cons: We got to the Whitehall around 6:30PM on Friday night, to find one of the automatic doors to enter was not working correctly. Next up: one of the elevators (of only 2 tiny elevators) was broken down. Everything had a luster of the past, but needed updating, cleaning, replacing, etc. In our room, the carpet was stained and one of our sheets had a hole in it. To add insult to injury, of the 2 phones in the bedroom, one didn't work at all, and the other only worked if you pressed 0. (ie, none of the corresponding keys to concierge etc worked). The shower faucet where you adjust the temperature was also broken - as it was loose and hard to finagle into getting a temperature that didn't scald or freeze you. And maybe the worst of all? We had gone out for brunch on Saturday, and come back, said we didn't want to be disturbed, but then, while we were napping, someone CAME INTO OUR ROOM without knocking to check our minibar!!! What?! Who does this!?!? This hotel is 2 star-worthy, not 4. They need to SERIOUSLY up their game or deal with reality. Also - we were charged for 2 items (a granola bar and candy bar) that we didn't even take. The lady said "sometimes touching something in the minibar triggers these prices). I said "that would make sense if either thing were even *in* the minibar!" So, there you go. That's the truth of the place. Judge for yourself.

Pros: The hotel was very beautiful and clean, and the location couldn't have been better for the purpose of our visit. Enjoyed the visit overall.
Cons: All of our room requests were ignored. We asked for a quiet room with one queen sized bed. This was confirmed at more than one point, including when we checked in at the front desk. However, we received a room with two full-sized beds. Not a huge deal, but why ask if it's going to be disregarded? Also, our room was street side and thus very noisy all night. When we tried to call the front desk from the hotel phone in our room, it kept forwarding us to a message center, so we never got to talk to a real person. Despite these things, we enjoyed our stay overall.

Pros: Location. A block away off the Magnificent Mile, North Side near the John Hancock building. The North Side of Chicago downtown is the nicer & safest part of downtown Chicago. Also has more restaurants and shopping centers within close walking proximity than the south part of downtown Chicago/or the loop. We were are from San Diego, CA, it was our first time visiting Chicago, we are definitely going back (much nicer & easier to get around than NY).
Cons: We will definitely stay in the North side of town again, but definitely never booking the Whitehall ever again & we are never prepaying for a hotel ever again, unless we have stayed there in the past & we already know what we are booking. Had we not prepaid for the hotel we would have checked out & booked another hotel. We Checked in at around 2pm Dec 26th for a 6 night stay. First room we got on 8th floor modern decor but was not as the one we expected from the pictures, it was a 3star room because the bathroom was big & definitely worthy of a 4star, but room was not. Even in the dim light we could see the walls & furniture were old, once we used our cell flash lights to see better in the room, the walls were scary. And there was a wall just 2 ft away from our window, so even in the day no natural light came in. we tried it for a few hrs but we felt like we were being enclosed & we had 7 days to go & we were there on our 10th yr wedd annv. So at around 7pm, we called front desk, Rebecca was super nice, we requested if we could get a room that was not facing a wall, just something that had a view to the outside world. We got mover to room on the 19th floor, bathroom was small, but room was bigger in size, but worse in décor & condition. Traditional décor, but not in a good way, even more older furniture and walls than first room, & bed frame & fixtures had a layered of dust, as if no one had cleaned it in 10yrs. And I found a woman's sweater and hair wig in the closet. Lets just say the only area I felt okay to get undressed was the bathroom as this was the only 4star worthy part of the room. The only reason why we stayed in this new room is because the room was a corner room away from the main hallway, which seemed a lot safer, being that this hotel did not seem safe at all & the hallways & elevator are super narrow & small & seem taken out of an episode from the "Twilight Zone". Hallway walls are old & musky, elevator even had tagging, I never stay at a hotel that's less than 3stars, never had seen this type of condition in any of the hotels I have stayed. And in past 10yrs we have vacation 2-3 times a yr. Not sure how they have manage to keep a 4star rating. The only 4star worthy of this hotel is the bathrooms in rooms, hotel restaurant, & hotel staff. Rebecca gave us a nice letter and vouchers (we only used the breakfast voucher) to apologize for the hair wig & sweater, but the damage was more than done. We had a hard time even being in our hotel room, before our trip we had originally planned to spend more time relaxing in hotel, but definitely we ended up trying to be out of our hotel as much as possible. If they had 4star rooms elsewhere in the hotel, then we did not stay in one, which again does not make this a 4star hotel because a 4star hotel should have all rooms in 4star condition starting from their smallest deluxe rooms all the way up to their suites. Unacceptable, if anything they are a 2 1/2 to 3star hotel.

Cons: The hotel didn't have my reservation. I called Orbits. They said I had been notified. I didn't think I had been. I couldn't find the email they referenced. I also got an email from Kayak confirming my stay the day before so I wouldn't have even thought to look for a cancellation email. My wife and kids were waiting in the car for a long time. Pros: Location is nice as it's just off of Michigan Ave..Beds are comfortable.. Great that Glazed and Infused is in the lobby....some rooms have nice views...We found it charming on the first visit....
Cons: This was our second visit...and things seemed to have slipped a bit. No early check-in available( 3 couples ahead of asked and were told no as well)...reserved a double room, was first given a SMALL king...corrected the error, but not happily ...only 2 bath towels... rooms getting a bit worn...Worst of all, The Drum Bar ( which we were looking forward to spending time a money in) had NO air-conditioning and no DJ( as promised)... disgruntled employees couldn't have moved slower... sadly, will not stay here again.

Pros: The location was excellent! The property was clean and the lobby renovated and nice. The Windows opened which was great because the room got very hot at night. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were modern and recently renovated
Cons: The room was incredibly small; the building only has one heating system and my room remained hot, so I was unable to adjust the temperature, which made sleeping extremely uncomfortable; there are no tubs, only showers; I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to find a working ice machine; and the elevators are tiny and very slow. Pros: The knickerbocker is a great place for leisure and business alike. While being wonderfully luxurious, it was affordable, and the staff was invariably eager to help and accommodate.
Cons: There were only two things I was displeased with during my stay. The first is with the insulation and heating system in my room. The room was freezing near the window, but would become unbarably hot when the heater was turned up even the slightest. I asked for blankets to try and solve this issue at night, and I was delivered scratchy, smelly blankets that were uncomfortable to use. My suggestion for improvement for the Knickerbocker would be to provide blankets in guest closets that are up to par with the standards they hold for the rest of the hotel.

Pros: Great location that's about it...
Cons: Book double room but got a single king room for 2 couples. Was told they over booked and didn't have rooms left. Also when to grab a Coke from the mini bar it had Santa on it..... I stayed in September...... After checking the date on it I found out it expired 2 months ago. I also received a bar tab from another room. They did correct that after pulling the receipt that clearly showed it was for another room. Then after all that they asked would you like to charge your parking to your card now? I said yes that not a problem. They said my MasterCard got declined..... I then responded with "I don't own a MasterCard. They had no clue when my visa number when.... Just amateur hour at his place. The bedding is also 80 grit sand paper and you may die on the slippery tile in the shower. Also the bell hop had no idea where he put out check bags when leaving....

Pros: Staff were nice. Cool old building with lots of history. Location is great. Cheapest price in the area.
Cons: Stayed with my 11yo and 17yo girls. We didn’t sleep because what I can only describe as “ghosts” kept bothering us. At first I thought the kids were tired and paranoid because it is an old hotel after all, but then stuff happened to me. And I was pushed in the shower and something grabbed my hair while I was sitting on the toilet. We barely slept because we kept experiencing and hearing odd things. We left as soon as we could. Was too bad because we were tired all day and now my kids are scared to stay in hotels. Book this place if you like ghosts or anything else paranormal.

Pros: All the major sites are walking distance from this hotel. LOCATION
Cons: Our room smelled like cigarette smoke. It was so bad it penetrated our clothes. Also, they had water issues during our stay. There was no water coming out and after they "fixed" the issue there was brown water coming out. The hotel has beautiful designs, but it looks run down. All of their furniture looks beat up. The drapes in our room had holes. The front desk had mediocre service. The bellman were very friendly though. This place has lots of potential because of it's design and location. They just may need new management.

Cons: While the exterior of The Congress represents the bygone days of a once glorious hotel, the interior is, sadly, the result of age, poor maintenance, and general neglect. The very first impression I got was the malodorousness that permeated the entire facility. Upon entering my room, the odor was insulting as, clearly, this hotel once permitted smoking (but apparently made no effort to eliminate the persistent smell. The furniture must've been obtained from the local Goodwill as it was well-worn and mismatched. Cracked tile on the bathroom floor made the entire experience unpleasant. Hey Congress owner, it's time for a remodel!

Pros: Margarit at the front desk was phenomenal, and Diaz in security was very helpful.. We came out to catch a couple of Cubs games and sight see. We did not spend much time in our room, which was good because overall comfort was about a 3 out of 10. Old, old old. Reminded me of that 1960's home with the pocket doors, and diamond like door knobs, but has NEVER been updated. A place to lay your head and store your luggage and no more. Although I must admit the pancakes in the rear restaurant from the front desk were GREAT!!!!
Cons: Cold, I mean COLD water in the bathroom. Peeling wall paper. Hotel really needs to be gutted and updated like yesterday. For $200.00 per night the overall appearance of the hotel was about $40.00 per night. Yes we had a good view of Buckingham Fountain over Michigan Ave. And that is the only thing that gave us some, just some of our money's worth.

Pros: The Location of this hotel its Perfect. Close to the train, bus, and bicycle stations. If you came to see what Chicago can offer, this Hotel is for you
Cons: Well I didn't have a lot of expectation due to the reviews we saw before we booked it. and sadly most of them are true. The first day we got to the Hotel, there was a rat walking in the middle the lobby. At first we were kind of disappointment but things happen. what we didn't like that it took about 20 mins until staff actually did something about. The hotel has strong dirty smell in the lobby, and bad one in the hallways, like if they never clean the carpet. While the hotel its old, it is not a excuses to have walls scratch , parts missing and lack of customer service. The rooms were okay, barely clean and outdated a/c unit. Hopefully on day they notice they losing thousand of dollars because if this hotel were to rebuilt, it would a GOLDEN mine for tourist.
