Pros: The overall ambience of the hotel is calm, relaxing and luxurious. We had a fantastic view of Hyde Park from our room, which was much bigger than the standard room size in London. The hotel, and particularly the bedrooms were spotlessly clean. The amenities in the room were excellent, and the bathroom had a separate shower and bath - something not seen very often in London. The turndown service, with lights lowered, music on and slippers laid out on a mat beside the bed was particularly nice. Each of the staff we spoke to was extremely welcoming and very keen to provide excellent service - we had forgotten a toothbrush, and also asked for soya milk for the room - both provided instantly. I stay in London hotels regularly, and staff attention to detail at Lancaster Gate is extremely high and makes for a very relaxing stay. Thanks!

Cons: I don't know why English hotels do stays without breakfast ! Look at how the Irish hotels do it. Adding breakfast at 30 pounds is a real turn off ! No buffet breakfast in the world could cost that to supply? Maybe look at this to be a little different.

Cons: The bedroom. Only place to put the suitcase to unpack it was the upholstered settee. If you unpacked there wasn’t enough drawer/shelf space to store your clothes. Not helped by a redundant safe still in the cupboard. No good light/mirror for make up - most high class hotels have a swinging magnifying mirror by a bright bathroom light. The blinds and the light controls were good.

Reception Sarah was very professional she did her best to make my room ready before 2pm I didn't like the queen room city view at all so i changed for an extra 80£ and got the garden view room, The only thing she didn't mention to me is that the extra price per night was 80£. I found out only at checkout. Room service : had a great moment with Barbara, a great conversation while she came to my room with my order, such a lovely person. Romeo : was amazing and i loved how passionate he was with his job, i promised him to be back to the hotel again and say hi to him. For the pasta i ordered, i didn't like it but the salad was good. The only suggestion and i can make is , more variety of pasta, like penne for exemple. Here they have only spaghetti and tagliatelle. GYM: very nice to be after meetings. They have very coaches but didn't have time to speak to them. Stayed at the gym for about 40 min and left. What makes me come to this hotel even if the price is higher than other 5* hotels in london is the staff, they have the best staff you can find in london, they make you feel home, otherwise its a good hotel. Be ready to see me again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our wish for a quiet room with a view. Thank you, Simon! Breakfast was a bonus in a spacious area with a very broad selection (including full English breakfast) to cater for the many international guests. The location is excellent with shops, supermarket, pubs all very close. Gloucester Road Underground station is across the road which has a direct link to Heathrow. (Does have some steps, though.) The restaurant is good and the bar area which opens onto a private park is exceptional in warm weather. Overall the vibe of this hotel is of a busy but well organised property with a family friendly, welcoming, international home away from home feel!

Cons: The room that l stayed in has the most awkward lay out. The toilet roll fixture was placed at the side of the bathtub exactly where you get in n out. It got splashed by water from the shower, and one can easily slip over its 15cm protruding metal rod for the spare tissue roll. The magnifying glass was only able to face to the toilet area n not to your face. The toilet flusher was behind the toilet cover. So each time you need to flush it, you ll have to first close the cover. The distance between the wall mirror inside the bathroom, to where you stand in front of the basin was so far that one need to bent extra to see your makeup. But this issue may not be for everybody. One who is taller then my 5.4" height maybe able to reach it better. In general... l used to stay at Crown Plaza Singapore. The experience is very different.

However, generally it is convenient and I like the location as this is next to the Hyde Park - a 20 minute walk and you can go to Marble Arch or the legendary Harrods. Cons: Staff in the breakfast room seemed rather slow. I felt that the black pudding had not been cooked, and the mushroom was very dry, tomato was raw, usually a breakfast tomato is grilled. There was fluff present around the window skirting board. When we were about to leave at 10.30 the domestic staff knocked our door, we told them we were leaving in a few minutes, when we opened our door they were right outside the door waiting! Pros: The location is nice but a little bit far away from Bayswater Station - in fact you need a 10 minute walk. However, generally it is convenient and I like the location as this is next to the Hyde Park - a 20 minute walk and you can go to Marble Arch or the legendary Harrods. Cons: I think the only drawback is that the location is not easy to find without google map - The lift is not very big and bigger luggage will be problematic.

Cons: It didn’t suit me as a solo traveler in my 60’s. The single room should be called a shoe box room. It didn’t look like the one on their website. It was squishy and stuffy and the traffic noise combined with the air con was annoying. It felt like the perfect place for people on a tour with everything perfectly executed with the best of manners. I did not find it a relaxing stay at all. I was very disappointed with my choice.

I booked double room and asked quiet room with nice view. but instead I got room with window right front of the wall (112 room , no view at all), and with terrible noise of works nearby in the morning...was terrible! After my complaints I was upgraded to Suite room with nice view and no noise. Very attentive reception desk. I was really appreciate for upgrading the room.

Metro(underground) and busses also easliy accessable. I found it really expensive for single trips on the Metro, so invest in a Oyster card if staying for more than one day.

Cons: The breakfast food is too accessible to the guests and the staff is not watching it. It was a guest that lipped the knife every single time after using it and before putting the knive in the jam oir butter jar again and nobody told him anything. We warned him but is a staff's duty to care about this kind of behaviour (there are 3 or 4 people working there but most of the time they are talking in the kitchen ). The breakfast is poor, you have to eat in mini plastic glasses and plates... while you feel like eating at the nursery school. Also, they wash the dishes by hand, so no dishwasher at all, this is totally anti-higienic!!!!!! The neighbourhood is not safe at night, in fact, the police was at the reception on yesterday because something happened and the are a lot of drunk people and people smoking pot in front of the entrance... Think it twice before sleep here, seriously!

They gave us clean bedsheets but nobody changes the duvet from one client to the other, and it was very dirty with some suspicious stains on it, and it smelled really bad. There were too many beds for the size of the room. The beds were really small, I am 1.70 and I could not fit in it properly. The first day when we arrived they didn't have enough cards, so when we were in the room and we wanted to go to the toilet, we needed to lock the door with a shoe in order to come back into the room again. They didn't want to give us the card for the storage (and it was included in the price). I stayed 2 more days than my friend and the receptionist didn't let me stay in the room I was before, and they explained it to me in a really rude way. Although is good located I am deeply disappointed with the ameties and the cleaning.

Pros: The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. It has close proximity to many tube stations, which makes getting around easy. Hyde park is really close by and is super beautiful. Back to the hotel, the staff is amazingly friendly. Several Spanish speakers (mostly from Spain) work here, so that is convenient if you need translation. The towels are good, the water pressure I exceptional. If you get the breakfast included take advantage of it, the breakfast is very hardy.

Cons: The rooms were so small that I couldn't even pray on my prayer mat. The rooms were not cleaned properly because when I would return to hotel after 8 hours, I wouldn't see anything touched on the floor or dressing table, only the bed would be made and dust bin emptied. No complimentary water bottles. The breakfast was very very average and same everyday. There was no lobby man to help with the luggage. My room extension and internet were not working. I complained several times but the reception wasn't bothered.

Cons: * The corridors were poorly maintained. * There were missing fire extinguishers. * There was no kettle in the room. * We were told the pods for the coffee machine in the room were on given out once (6 pods), additional pods were available to be purchased at 50p a pod from the front desk. * We had booked a Superior Double room, however, the use of the word Superior is very subjective. Given that the double rooms in the basement had no external windows and therefore no view our rooms were in fact superior to them, however, as there was barley room to squeeze down the side of the bed and no safe in the room I don't think this room could ever be viewed as superior!

Cons: We had booked the 'cheap' room and found out it was in the basement with a window. The photos of the room when booking are NOT accurate. It was a very small room for two people. It was a bit inconvenient at times, but we made it work and did not complain.

Cons: The hotel is grubby and smelled of damp carpet and stale odours. Staff were not interested in their customers. Room was so small. Tea/coffee making equipment poor. Toiletries not as described. Towels were changed daily despite us leaving them on the rail as instructed to avoid this and be environmentally friendly. Cups were used but not changed for 2 days. Coffee pods not replenished (but the coffee was not good) Overall poor for it's location. Other guests said the same to us. Shower was very poor and shower door did not fit. Cons: It was a budget hotel, so my expectations weren't too high, but they are renovating so in was a little chaotic. Also, they only cleaned our room once out of 4 nights, taking our towels and only giving us one in return for 2 people. There was no blankets in our room when we arrived.
