Cons: gym facilities were modest as was pool, but not a terribly big deal as most hotel gyms have a limited offer.

Pros: Breakfast Room Service (as restaurant was not open before I had to leave).
Cons: Everything else - courteous, but very unhelpful staff in resolving issues and making guests feel comfortable. Slow service - room not available on time - view from the room was looking at steampipes. One of my most disappointing hotel stays compared to expectations (and I visit London 6-10x annually). Room was old (it was clean) and not up to date for a luxury hotel.

Pros: Luxurious rooms with every amenity. Huge range of restaurants and bars. Health and fitness options - loved the 20m indoor pool and hamman. Great staff - friendly, welcoming and efficient. Wonderful renovation with blend of old and new.
Cons: Despite the number of different restaurants the room service menu is quite limited. Movie selection on in room TV is difficult to browse through. Some areas on our floor (floor 2) had quite a strong "smoked food" smell, assume from the kitchens. Took a bit of fiddling to work out the light switches / dimmers in room.

Pros: They thought of everything! They had absolutely every amenity you’d ever want already in the room. The room service was delicious and fast! Honestly, I’ve ordered room service at more hotels than I could ever count and this was some of the best and the quickest.
Cons: I stayed at the Ned on a Saturday night so the bar/restaurant area downstairs was extremely busy. This in turn caused quite a bit of noise. My room was quite low, so maybe if you have a room on a higher floor the noise won’t be an issue. Honestly, it didn’t bother me one bit, but I wanted to mention it as it might throw some people off guard. They do supply ear plugs in the room.

Pros: We booked this friend to stay overnight as our friends were having their wedding at The Ballroom in Park Plaza. Thank god the wedding was good, because that was the only good thing about this hotel!!
Cons: As we were part of the bridal group we contacted the hotel months, weeks and even the day before check in to request an early check in, that never happened!! As an apology because our hair and make up artist was standing in reception, we were only upgraded for 2 of the 4 rooms. During and after the wedding, we got stuck in the lift (which was already broken but not decommissioned) no apology from the evening staff and no acknowledgement of their errors, rather I am told "I am done talking to you". After our party having spent tens and thousands of pounds, this is the treatment we received. No compensation and no complimentary offers to any of us.

Pros: The only thing good about this hotel for my situation was the location.
Cons: Reception at the front desk were poorely skilled. Absolutely no communication between them and the customer about how the room is/was going to be. I paid for a room which I thought I was going to receive a decent room with a view. Instead I got a dark closet room with a very small window of the inside of the building, was not worth the ridiculous price per night. I would compare my room to a youth hostel, pretty much just a place to lay my head, nothing more, nothing less.

Pros: I would never recommend or go back to this hotel. Horrible value should have stayed at the Four Seasons for an extra 50.00 a night
Cons: This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a very long time. The hotel was very poorly represented about who they are as a brand, quality of hotel, and by far not valued at 4 or 5 stars as they claim to be. Our first room was a deluxe with tower view. The carpet had tears in it, we had a leaky faucet, and later that evening we discovered the air conditioning didn't work. After many discussions with the front desk their solution was to move us to a twin bed room and put a fan in the room to cool it down. While moving our bags at 11;30 PM the bellman told us this happens quite often and they don't have maintenance on staff anymore. Having worked in hospitality and hotels all my career this is a clear sign to me that the hotel doesn't value their service levels. When having a hotel of over 700 rooms without maintenance on staff you're going to consistently have unhappy customers with service failures. I urge them to put this job back on payroll as it will help your service records considerably. After 3 phone calls the manager on duty Marga was helpful and compd breakfast and upgraded us to a suite the next night. These are all nice but it seemed like we were having to explain to them they needed to do something rather than them being apologetic about the horrible situation of our room and the huge inconvencice.

Pros: I began laughing and celebrating my good fortune the minute I opened the door to my room at the Tower Hotel. The wall opposite the door had a large picture window with the most incredible view of the wharf and Tower Bridge! I couldn’t believe how wonderful the location of this hotel was and how nice my room was. A short walk to the bridge itself, the Tower of London was next door. A short walk to the Tube station and a sightseeing boat that boards in front of the hotel. Friendly, competent hotel staff and a comfy room. You’d think it would be noisy so close to the bridge, but not a problem. Good blackout curtains too! Great stay!
Cons: Hotel breakfast was fine, but there are also good options on St. Katherine’s Docks just behind the hotel. There is also a Tesco store and a Starbucks for even more options. Both are within the block of the hotel.

Pros: The location of this hotel is unbelievable! It literally sits right on the Thames river, and the view of the Tower bridge is stunning!! Not to mention it’s incredibly beautiful on the inside, it has fantastic amenities and the restaurant inside is wonderful! It’s also a very simple walk across the bridge to the other side to get to the Tower of London and a plethora of other restaurants and shopping venues. The cost was incredibly low for what type of hotel this is, and I will absolutely recommend anyone to stay here for a gorgeous and accessible view of London!!

Pros: Spent about a week in London and stayed at the St. Giles. No regrets. Close to the West End action and much cheaper than some in the area. This hotel is also frequented by bus tours - Ugh. The room was good though small (almost Japanese hotel room small). We did not partake of their restaurants and went to a much, much better buffet down the street for breakfast. Concierge staff was very helpful

Pros: Location and cleanliness are the only positives about my stay.
Cons: Poorly operating lifts. Bathroom so small. TV inoperable. WiFi requires £5 payment daily by purchasing a code from a vending machine. Long lines at check in. Long line at luggage check/collection. Never again!

Pros: We went on a weekend away because he had tickets to see Harry Potter and the cursed child, which the hotel was a short five minute walk away which was great for me and my friend to get there as it was over 2 nights.
Cons: However we were never informed that there was to be building works happening throughout February. This resulted in there being no room for a reception desk and little to do in the hotel as everything was cordened off. As for the rooms, they were small and dated, they also didn't have much of a blind for the windows. As there has been a neon lit build finished across the street from the hotel, the room was lit up all night. To add to this there was a false fire alarm at 4am in the morning which no one came to inform us about but we could barely hear it from our room. The shower cubicle was really small with a really powerful shower that wasn't pleasant and to top everything we had a cockroach crawl into our room just before our departure that resided under our bed. All in all multiple things went wrong with our stay and I wouldn't recommend.

Pros: Location is very central, across the road from a tube station and right next to Oxford St for shopping.

Cons: The hotel lifts were very slow and 2 was not working at all , also there was work being done for the new reception area ! As I have sciatica very bad , It was very difficult using the stairs and temporary steps the hotel put in place !

Pros: Not much other than it was clean and close to the Eurostar. Essentially you paid for the location.
Cons: No toiletries or fridge. Tiny double bed in awkwardly shaped room. In Europe it would have been marked up as a no frills business hotel and would have cost far less.

Pros: The hotel is in a great spot where you can walk to see Big Ben in 10-15 minutes or over to Buckingham Palace in 20 minutes. The hotel was generally very clean.WiFi access was also a great help. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The rooms are reminiscent of small dorm rooms complete with a MAC as the TV/entertainment system. The bathrooms are extremely small and you have a sink where you almost stand in the shower to brush your teeth. Room service food is very average quality much like in college. I felt like I was back in some weird college type throwback staying at this hotel.

Pros: Friendly staff. Concierge will to help with reservations, etc.

Pros: The location was absolutely amazing and the breakfast was better then most Europeian hotels. The hotel provided good customer service.
Cons: The beds were incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The organization of room and how it felt was awkward. The windows need a tent to help with privacy.

Pros: The location is excellent (just behind the Tate Museum & the MI-5 HQ, as well as only a couple of minutes away from the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey). Tube stations are 10min.+ away, but the area is well covered by buses. The common spaces look clean and modern and the staff is friendly and polite (but nothing "over the top", though). If you manage to get a good deal, it could be a very affordable hotel in the middle of London. I paid £550 for 5 nights, but a few days before or a few days after my stay and I could've easily paid around £1,200 for the same number of nights in the same period - mid-August.
Cons: The rooms are a bit outdated and could do with a fresh coat of paint and some new carpeting at the very least. The design is also very simple and minimal, which gives an overall "basic" feeling. Some refurbishment would go a long way in improving the comfort of guests and would justify some of the heftier rates charged by the hotel (probably off the back of the hotel's premium location rather than room comfort and facilities).

"Located in London City Centre, this hostel is within a 15-minute walk of Russell Square, The British Museum and University College London. Oxford Street and Aldwych Theatre are also within 1 mile (2 km). Russell Square Underground Station is only a 4-minute walk and King's Cross St. Pancras Underground Station is 8 minutes. "

Pros: The atmosphere was amazing, the common areas were decorated impeccably, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the ground floor had enough chill out/get rowdy/eat food areas that a) you could always find a space suitable for your mood, and b) the rooms stayed quiet and peaceful. Also, the number of outlets was astounding, and the WiFi excellent, even though my room was on the fifth floor.
Cons: The toilets were backed up a few times. It was always fixed quickly, but the frequency of blockages was a little concerning.

Pros: The hostel was very clean. The bathrooms were cleaned every few hours. There was a nice mix of travelers, young and old, people travelling in groups and lone travelers. There were also young families and babies. Lots of people ,lots of activity. At night ,there was added security in the building. I was very happy with the Generator Hostel.
Cons: The mornings were rough .You had to time it right to get a sink in the bathroom. Everyone seemed to need the showers at the same time. You just have to try to avoid the busy times.
"Located in London City Centre, this hostel is within 2 miles (3 km) of The Shard, Borough Market and Tower Bridge. Tate Modern and St. Thomas' Hospital are also within 2 miles (3 km). London Elephant and Castle Station is 8 minutes by foot and Elephant & Castle Station is 10 minutes. "

Pros: Room was actually pretty clean, and restrooms were heavily used, but cleaned regularly. Staff was always very nice and helpful. Room was spartan, but comfortable.
Cons: Very noisy - lots of commotion outside our room. Also, for some reason, they decided to shut the bathroom near us for cleaning every morning from about 7:30 to 8:15 - right when lots of folks were wanting to shower. Finally, I had requested a private room for our family, but they told me that they didn't have any , so I had to pay extra money to get a whole 10 person room. Still a decent rate overall, compared to other places, but not the rate i thought I would pay. Finally, don't count on getting wi-fi any time between 7:00 and 10:30 at night. There are so many people trying to connect that it is pretty much impossible.

Pros: This is the second time I have ever stayed in a hostel...I can say with confidence that I will definately stay here again... $20 a night?! Who could say no! Also close to Elephant and Castle tube station too!!
Cons: I personally dont think it a good idea to have children (both male and female) sharing the same shower and toilet facilities as adults. I would strongly recommend having at least 1 floor dedicated to minors!

Pros: I liked that it was well located (less than 10 minutes walk to the Elephant & Castle tube station), St Pancras train station is 15 minutes away by tube and there are many buses around the hostel. You can also find a Spar and a Tesco Express supermarket as well as many kebabs next door if you want to grab something to eat. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm wich was clean and I had a nice view on the Shard. Toilets and shared showers were clean too.
Cons: Wifi was only available in sharing areas (only reception, " bar " and tv lounge). Also, the windows in the dorm were old and made of glass that was partially shattered so you could hear the traffic as if you were sleeping in the street. It can also be quite cold so I don't recommend staying there during fall or winter. Bed's matresses aren't confortable so I wouldn't recommend staying there for too long either. When it comes to eating in, there is a bar near the reception that sells £4 pizzas, sandwiches, coffee and many other things but it is only open from 12 to 19 and during these hours there wasn't anyone working at the bar so I couldn't get anything...
