Pros: The service was both efficient and very friendly. Every one of the staff went out of their way to assist, but were happy and able to chat, which made us feel very welcome. The public rooms at the Ritz are very grand, in the style of the 1920's, and the restaurant is like a British stately home. We had a room upgrade - an Executive Suite on the 7th floor - which was recently refurbished and was faultless (sometimes even in good hotels you might find a light bulb has failed, or something similar - at the Ritz everything was perfect). We had breakfast in our room, which was delivered on a trolley that opened up to become a dining table, which was a nice touch. The weather was also excellent during our stay and as the hotel is right next to Green Park it was nice to take a stroll in the park. For a longer walk (up to 2 hours if you wanted) it would be easy to get to Hyde Park through Green Park.

Cons: Allocated room was very nicely finished with all necessary accessories but the size of a shoe box. Given that we were spending 8 nights there we were upgraded after one night which gave us the necessary space we needed The photos depicted on their website are not necessarily what you get. Their defence being that you always advertise your best room for marketing!!!! I’m not too convinced about that. However with some gentle persuasion it all ended well.

The sink was very low and tiny...difficult to use if you are not disabled/wheel chair user and the shower tray and curtain in the access shower did not hold the water. Water sprayed all over the bathroom floor tiles making them very slippery and dangerous. There was a large window in the bathroom with no blind. I felt very conscious of using the bathroom with the light on when dark outside. There was no iron in the room. I didn’t want to have to get one from reception in the morning when I was getting ready.

Cons: Booked a room for 3 but hadn’t been made up for 3 when we arrived. Quickly remedied when we reported to reception. Bed settee was made up and 3rd mug, set of towels placed in room. We wanted extra pillows, which we found in the guest lockers. However they were heavily stained and one we picked up was torn :-( We did not want to handle so kept in their plastic bags to use under our pillows that were made up. Pillowcases were put on the extra pillows by the maid the following morning but we couldn’t quite forget what the pillows were like underneath:-O Coffee machine in CQ lounge was out of action for over a day. cold drinks in the fridge not stocked up.

Cons: Though I paid for a better room with a window (facing a parking lot), it was still tiny! The glass bathroom took up a third of it and the queen bed most of the rest. The mattress was hard and uneven, and the pillows were like hard pancakes. I had requested foam instead of feathers, and that's what I got. I am a seasoned, London traveller, and this was by no means cheap, and so I was disappointed the room was so small and uncomfortable.

I told her I might be coming back at 2pm to check in, means £10 extra. I thought what she said was fishy so I went back to the hotel at 12pm and approached another staff. I asked her if I had to pay extra to book in early, she was very friendly and said no if the room is already ready, I can check in anytime and proceeded to help me check if the room is ready. Another staff told the staff who help me to do other things and she would serve me. She said the room is ready and will proceed to charge me £10 to check in at 12pm. I got so offended by how these staff tried to scam me. And proceeded to say "i checked with your colleague and she said if the room is ready I don't have to pay any extras". She look shocked and then said "oh then you can check in" without any charges. I hope Hilton will manage your staff better. It is very disappointing as i frequent London a lot and was looking for a go-to hotel. I will never, visit your hotel again. 2) There was a used disposable underwear under the bottom of the shelves in the toilet. Attached picture. Gross. 3) Informed them that it will be my boyfriend's birthday. When i got to the room, there was nothing arranged. However, after i went out and came back to the room, there was a card and some mini cake with decorations. This is perhaps my worst Hilton group hotel stay. Totally UNACCEPTABLE. Not sure whether your staff tried to scam me because i'm asian and could potentially not understand what they say and get charged for ridiculous things. I took note of the names of the staff. If the company is interested in this issue, you may contact me.

Cons: the breakfast pancakes and waffles, the room scent too strong in lobby, horrible elevator music playing all over the hotel, worn down interior, lamps that didn't work, the door had been painted so many times it was hard to open and close without using a lot of force. The hotel just doesn't feel luxurious at all.

Tube stations are 10min.+ away, but the area is well covered by buses. The common spaces look clean and modern and the staff is friendly and polite (but nothing "over the top", though). If you manage to get a good deal, it could be a very affordable hotel in the middle of London. I paid £550 for 5 nights, but a few days before or a few days after my stay and I could've easily paid around £1,200 for the same number of nights in the same period - mid-August.

Both the room and the bathroom were very clean, the bed very-very comfy. Coffee and tea amenities are very nice after a tiring day.. Internet in the room was really very good, breakfast was good variety.

Cons: The room was a divisibility room which i had not asked for. It was next to the lift and when i was in bed this was very noisy There were also red lights in the room which kept me awake I went to have a shower in the morning and the towels were dirty and had blood over them so i couldn't use them!!! I advised reception and they didn't seem to understand or care! They also would not let me pay with the card i had secured the booking with so had to pay with another card and get my funds transferred. Really bad communciation issues with staff on reception - awful will probably not recommend or stay again based on this

Cons: Breakfast was not worth the money. All the hot food was barely warm and the coffee too. Our first room had a bad smell and as we unpacked water leaked from the ceiling. I used to use this hotel a lot a few years ago but now it could really do with an update and a lick of paint.

Cons: The rooms are a bit outdated and could do with a fresh coat of paint and some new carpeting at the very least. The design is also very simple and minimal, which gives an overall "basic" feeling. Some refurbishment would go a long way in improving the comfort of guests and would justify some of the heftier rates charged by the hotel (probably off the back of the hotel's premium location rather than room comfort and facilities).

Cons: Everything is so bad in the hotel, bathroom was mouldy, toilet sits broken, windows and curtains very disgusting, the carpet was so dusty with old chewing gum, the door handles almost broken. Generally i was so angry, what you see in the pictures is not what you get and as for customer service they are so rude. What a waste of time and money. I don't think i would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel, my kids were so disappointed. and on our first day we had to sleep at my sisters house all the way to South end.

Cons: The shower curtain in the bathroom was held together by zip ties...my parents said their curtain was held by bread ties...when we returned back to the hotel to retrieve our keys to the rooms the guy behind the desk was dead asleep, my boyfriend had to go behind the desk and wake him up. It was definitely not worth what you paid for.
