Pros: Location and ambiance. Great place in historic district
Cons: The 2nd floor is WAY to close to the Friday crowds of rowdy people on the street. You are also right in the middle to 2 major late night clubs.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Location was excellent. Close to Chelsea Market, Art District. Easy walk to Greenwich Village and SoHo. Very clean and comfortable room; small, but standard for NYC. Nice breakfast. Very helpful and courteous staff. Will definitely return on future NYC trips.
Chelsea Cabins is centrally located in New York, a 3-minute walk from Madison Square Garden and 14 minutes by foot from Times Square. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.

Mediocre2.0
Good6.0
Pros: location, staff, vegetarian friendly
Cons: room walls are paper thin with no ceilings so you hear everything around you from coughing to conversations to snoring. Earplugs are a must. The showers were terrible though. No hot water in most of the showers and if someone else was showering in a nearby shower stall forget having any water pressure.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Loved the gourmet vegan breakfast
Excellent9.4
Pros: Location, lock on your door, you get exactly what you pay for. The room doesn't have a sound proof ceiling. You will hear everything, exactly like a hostel. I paid for the location and the lock on my door.
Cons: bed was on the short side, and a little lumpy. I am 5'10 and I would presume if I was 6 feet tall or 6 feet 2 inches I might not have been able to fit comfortably on the bed and sleep well.
Good6.8
Pros: Comfy bed, albeit short. Plenty of hot water in the morning. Friendly staff and a good location.
Cons: It's very noisy at night so if you are a light sleeper you might want to look elsewhere. The rooms are essentially cubicles with locking doors so sound travels easily throughout the floor.
Excellent8.8
Pros: If you're ok with having little space, this place is great. It's clean, the staff is great, the guests all seem to respect both privacy and quiet, the bathrooms were spotless and the rooms, while very small, had storage space for your bag, a clean bed and a small bed side table/desk. I went there to unwind and reflect, and it was the perfect location.
Cons: While everyone respects the quiet of the space, you can still hear pretty much everything, from footsteps to bag rustling. It's totally quiet after 11pm, but if a guest needs to leave at 5am and you're a light sleeper, you'll likely hear them. Otherwise, no complaints!
Mediocre3.1
Pros: It was fairly clean. And the 9pm quiet time meant people were quiet (But also meant you had to go OUTSIDE to 8th avenue to make a phone call).
Cons: They weren't rooms, they were kennels. No ceilings, so you can hear your neighbor snore and the bathroom and shower and walking and everything. If you are taller than 5'9", then plan for sleeping diagonally on your tiny bed since your head and feet will touch either wall. The rooms are the length of the bed exactly, with about 1.5 feet of space next to the bed (so perhaps 6 feet by 4 feet rooms?) Morning stretching? Forget about it. If you're claustrophobic at all, you will want to leave.
Located in Midtown, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Madison Square Park and Empire State Building. The High Line Park and Times Square are also within 1 mi (2 km). 28 St. Station (7th Av.) is only a 2-minute walk and 28 St. Station (Broadway) is 3 minutes.

Cons: The window was left open before my arrival. Upon arrival, the temperature of the room was 46 degrees. I closed the window and notified the hotel staff immediately. For some reason they sent an engineer to the room. To be clear, the heat worked but the window was left open. I turned the heat up to 80 degrees, turned off Eco Boost, and set the fan to high. When leaving, the heat had been on for over one hour. The room temperature had just barely gotten above 50. Again we notified the front desk. There was no attempt to make my room more bearable or to transfer rooms. When arriving back at the hotel room around 11:30pm, the room was still under 70 degrees. Again I called the front desk. It wasn't until this time I was offered a room change, however at 11:30 I preferred to use extra blankets to stay warm.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Nice modern rooms. Great location. Food carts one block away at Greely Sq.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Concierge was fantastic. Restaurants were great. Vibe was relaxing and cool.
Okay5.7
Pros: The restaurant was nice, good food
Cons: The room was never properly cleaned. I stayed for 6 nights and the room was never fully cleaned. The bathroom mirrors had the same smears the entire stay, the floor was dusty and hairy and I saw the same piles of dirt from day one. The glass shower wall had a soap scum that remained the entire time as did the bathtub. The entire room was dusty and never saw any of it cleaned. And I'm quite certain my sheets weren't even changed daily. I believe the cleaning crew only changed towels and made the bed. I also asked that they did not leave the a/c on 65 each day and i continued to return to an ice box daily!
Excellent8.2
Pros: The bed was so comfortable! The location was very central.
Cons: No business center and no pool.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Great hotel. Friendly staff. Great location.
Cons: I gave this hotel an "okay" because of what seemed to be chaos in the kitchen. I would order an item, the friendly person on the other end would say ok. But...wait for it...each time I ordered and confirmed my food items, I received a call back telling me they are out of at least one of what I'd ordered.
Okay4.2
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Rude Staff, small and dirty (smelly) rooms, expensive as all hell. Not worth it
Excellent10.0
Pros: Gorgeous room that was large and comfortable. Staff is lovely and both restaurants are amazing! Food is extra special here. I love all the kimptons but this one is in the top 3, perhaps number one.

Good6.8
Pros: Location
Cons: Slow elevators no pool
Excellent9.1
Pros: The hotel was perfectly adequate for my business stay, very comfortable and clean at a great price.
Excellent8.6
Pros: Great location. Breakfast was excellent. Comfortable rooms, very clean.
Good7.0
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: No bar or restaurant
Excellent8.2
Pros: Breakfast spread was above average, the roof top bar was very good -- great views. Rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were in good.
Cons: Lots of school groups, so the lobby was always a zoo. Probably not an issue except during summer.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Location was great for what we needed, very close to fashion district, not far from theaters and time square. Price was good
Cons: Breakfast room was a bit crowded, three elevators sometimes take too long to arrive, at least they are large and fast, not really a draw back
Excellent8.8
Pros: Early check in was wonderful. I was able to put my bag in the room and freshen up before attending my LANDMARK SEMINAR next door. Rooms are tiny tiny but clean with luxury basics. Pool/whirlpool/sauna would be greatly appreciated. Breakfast excellent. Thank you.
Cons: Room rates high end. Beds are full sized or small queens so Bed-sharing not real option if you want total cpmfort.
Good7.4
Pros: Front Desk Staff very friendly and curteous
Cons: Room did not smell fresh and there were only hand towels the first night of my stay

Cons: Customer service, reservation team and management all were pretty terrible. Provided no accomodation for a change or adjustment in reservation. In addition the front desk person was rude and abrupt when nobody else was even in the lobby. I left this hotel and went right next door to the cleaner and friendlier Hotel Indigo.
Good6.5
Pros: Nice touches were that the lobby had a water dispenser with fresh fruits in the water and cookies were served at the lobby at certain times. Staff was attentive to our needs.
Cons: Broken shower head- sprayed from the base. Tight quarters with barely enough room to move luggage for 3.
Good6.8
Pros: The location on 28th Street is very central and convenient.
Cons: One of the elevators didn't seem to be working very well and the other was very slow. Luckily I was on the 2nd floor, so I took the stairs, which were clean and well lit. It was pouring rain when I arrived and the front desk had no umbrellas to lend. It was also very loud from street noise in my room. Inside from the hallway was quiet, even though I was near the elevator.
Excellent9.7
Pros: The hotel is in a great location, near Midtown sights and subways, but on a relatively quiet side street. Hotel staff was accommodating and placed to baby Pack-and-plays in our room before we arrived for our two young children. Plenty of very good food and dining options nearby. We'd stay here again for sure. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The bar is not open on weekends and the room was relatively small. That said, it's NY and at this price palatial we did not expect. Putting coffee in the lobby would be a nice amenity.
Good7.7
Pros: Chose this hotel for the price/location. Obviously you don't exactly get what you're paying for in NYC, but it was a clean hotel that was just that, nothing special.
Cons: They slap you with a $50 resort fee without telling you - was told I had no extra charges at checkout, and saw the charge on my credit card later.
Good6.8
Cons: wifi did not work in my room - weak intermittent signal
Excellent8.8
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Tasty free coffee in the lobby. Good sound proof wall so that we did not get bothered by young group's loud chatting next door through night.
Cons: The only issue was the noise of the air conditioner heater.
Okay4.0
Cons: Arrived a couple hours after check in and discovered that our room had been given away.We had booked a room with 2 Queen beds (there were three adults) and they put us in a room with 1 king and a roll away. Roll away bed was very uncomfortable. The room they stuck us in was right above the entry, so very noisy.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Everything was 100% perfect. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, view was nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating with our luggage needs etc.
Cons: I chose to be on the highest floor to get the best view and we heard loud music coming from down the street or somewhere outside as we were going to bed. It eventually stopped, and no one complained of not getting a good night's sleep due to it.
Excellent10.0
Cons: We really loved this hotel. Staff great and super friendly. So convenient to everything we wanted to do. Room waa really clean and bed was super comfy. I will definitely stay again.

Pros: Terrific location just a few blocks away from subway and business traveler necessities like FedEx and a grocery store (Whole Foods to be exact). The room was the most spacious I've stayed in NYC for this price. Near an Orange Theory which I used on my first day there.
Cons: The gym facilities here are very limited. I did not ask if there were reciprocal gyms nearby.
Good7.6
Pros: Good Location. Near to good restaurants. A typical 3 star hotel given its room and facilities. Worth the room rates and good for a short 1 or 2 day stay in new york city.
Excellent8.8
Pros: The staff - notably the desk staff - were fantastic
Cons: If you have stayed in one Hampton Inn you have stayed in them all - though we keep coming back because we can count on it being a solid choice

Excellent8.2
Pros: The staff was nice, the rooms were clean, and the location was ideal. I would definitely recommend Leo House. It's just a great fuss-free place to stay for a quick weekend getaway.
Cons: We could not get the heater to turn off! We turned the knobs on the boilers all the way to be turned off but somehow the heat was still functioning fully, so our small room became really hot really fast even with the windows open. The first night I got very little sleep because of how hot it was, plus because we had the windows wide open so the traffic/garbage truck noises kept me up too. Also the one morning we finally didn't have plans for the morning- Sunday- there was no breakfast.
Okay5.7
Pros: Location is very good
Cons: The front desk staff are far from been friendly The bed is very small The restroom and the bathroom accessory are in very poor condition. Water pressure is low and the temperature of it vary from ice cold to burning hot without touching the faucets

Pros: The room was comfortable and the location was great.
Cons: Room while clean could be fresher smelling but I am being really picky here
Excellent8.0
Pros: All holiday inn are the same and keep to the standard. Great place to stay and great value
Cons: Nothing to do with the hotel, but that week was a bomb on 23rd Street. Kind of scary but the NYPD done everything to secure the area. At one time 29th Street was blocked but they made sure that I made my flight home.
Good7.7
Pros: Location, decent sized room, clean
Cons: There were pipes banging in the walls (or else construction elsewhere in the hotel) all night which kept us awake until 2:30am when we gave up and called and asked to switch rooms. To their credit, they moved us immediately and the new room was quieter.
Excellent8.2
Pros: We liked the convenience of the area. Easy to check in and out Complimentary breakfast was really good.. a lot of options. Staff was friendly Place was comfortable. All in all it was a good stay! I'd recommend.
Cons: For the price we paid.. the room was very small... however, I expected this being as we were in a city. Sometimes it's just hard to grasp that.

Pros: Breakfast inclusive Rooms were pretty clean and better looking than other nyc hotels.
Cons: Lack of breakfast variety. - always sausage and eggs At night, regulat coffee is very bland and they put less coffee. Very low quality of coffee at night
Mediocre3.7
Cons: One of the staff tried to enter my room in the middle of the night. Said they mistook my room for housekeeping?! By myself so it was very scary

Cons: I accidentally booked the wrong evening for travel. Upon immediately realizing what i had done, I picked up the phone and attempted to rectify the situation. I was told that i could not be assisted and that i would be billed for the mistake. There was less than 5 minutes between the time i realized my mistake and the time i was on the line with customer service. Terrible experience. Never again.

Pros: We love the location (near to the NJ Transit station and easy to get anywhere in the city). We also love that there is no "resort fee" which kept the cost down for us. A hot breakfast is included, which was great!
Cons: We booked a king size bed through a travel website but when we checked in we were told that two double beds were all that was available. What is the point of reserving a king size bed if they just give it to someone else?
Excellent10.0
Pros: Location was perfect. Free wifi, breakfast, early check in. Everything was great.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like.
Excellent8.8
Pros: For the value the hotel was great. The location of the hotel is very convenient to many locations and subway lines. The breakfast in the morning exceeded expectations and was substantial. Hotel is very clean and feels updated.
Cons: The bathroom felt a bit small but for a hotel in NYC that is expected. Do not try to drive and park in this area, parking is atrocious and very expensive.
Mediocre2.5
Pros: Horrible place, breakfast awful with little nutritious value. It would have better to eat at McDonald's ! This is overpriced even for Manhattan. If parking is available, it will cost you an average of $50 per night. I don't think the bedding had been changed for me after the prior customers had checked-out.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Front staff was friendly and personable. They were very helpful. Luisa is very nice.
Cons: It's not a major thing but when we arrived a furniture company was moving in all new mattresses and chairs. The problem was that they tied up the elevator. We waited approximately 4-5 minutes for the other elevator.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Close to Penn Station Close to excellent shopping Expansive free full breakfast buffet
Cons: No room views Slow elevators
Excellent8.6
Pros: Staff was excellent

Pros: Location was great
Cons: Rooms small Breakfast are small to many people. Couldn’t eat there Staff great
Excellent9.7
Pros: Our check in/out and all interactions with staff were very positive. Breakfast was good, a hot waffle, pastry, egg, or potatoes, plus juice, cereal and hot drinks. The two doubles in one tiny room were adequate. No tub only shower and the TV/cable was the bare minimum. Complimentary internet was adequate. Overall I recommend and would stay again.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Conveniently located Nice amenities Very friendly staff
Cons: Room was decent size but bath was small. Mirror, because it had a cabinet behind it, protruded over sink which made an already tight situation more difficult.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Room was large for the area and clean, complimentary breakfast was good (waffles a plus!) and in a great centralized location to Times Square and MSG.

Pros: This hotel was so amazing, I didn't expect much for the price but everything was spotless. The staff was amazing, they came up to our room 2 times a day to bring ice and they were super fast. King bed was very comfy and the hotel was within walking distance from Times Square but if ur visiting New York get a subway card and get everywhere for like 20 min at most.
Cons: Perfect stay no complaints.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Front desk staff were professional and friendly
Cons: Restaurant staff inside the Hotel had terrible customer service.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I was very happy with the nearness of the hotel to Penn Station. It was a beautiful hotel, which appeared to have been recently renovated. I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent10.0
Pros: Great price for the area. Room was small (typical for NYC) but clean and updated. Restaurant had a very good breakfast and the rooftop bar was a great place to get some views of the city.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Great location, great price for the day we stayed, room was clean and a nice size for NYC.
Cons: When checking in they indicated that the water would be turned off at 9am the following morning for emergency repairs. So much for taking the say off and sleeping in. Well, apparently it was only the hot water, which we learned about after getting to the room and reading the note that was slipped under the door. When we got to front desk in the morning, they asked how our stay was and I said it was good. They asked - why only good - so I explained the water situation (it was about 10:30am). They indicated that they hadn't even started the project yet. We went from all water off from 9am-9pm, to only the hot water, to - well the hot water will be turned off - whenever. I'm sure there's a better way.
Excellent8.5
Pros: Convenient location, clean rooms, free standard wifi, put a mini fridge in our room for us, we were able to check in a few hours early
Cons: We heard a lot of noise in the hallways- other people talking and doors slamming. It was difficult to shut the door without having it slam loudly. Monday morning we walked out of our room to see that they were replacing the carpet on our floor. That's where the noise that morning was coming from. It would've been nice to have a heads up that carpet was being replaced on our floor during our stay.
Okay5.4
Pros: Look of the rooms very nicely decorated
Cons: Pricing was bit high for the size of the room but still had a great overall experience it was a comfortable stay
Excellent10.0
Pros: Very clean and the room was calm
Cons: Nothing
Excellent9.4
Pros: Great location, very good bar/restaurant, decent sized rooms for NYC. Staff is always very friendly and helpful! I've stayed here several times and have never had a bad experience.

Pros: Check in time takes almost two hours
Mediocre2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: front desk closed at 9pm so they basically robbed me. It looked like a homeless shelter, only crackhead and whores stay here
Excellent8.0
Pros: Rooms were recently remodeled, or at least mine was. Nicely done with some exposed brick, wood floor, tasteful art and fixtures, great bed, big screen TV. Shared bathroom was also freshly and tastefully done, and clean.... But SHARED. I think they may have some rooms w private baths for more $. They were working on the hallways during my stay, but I don't see how they can fully update vintage structure with its narrow halls and losing stairway.
Cons: Street noise.
Excellent9.4
Pros: It was one block from where we needed to go the most often. My husbands favorite coffee place was next door. (Petite abelle). The staff was friendly and helpful. And the room was newly renovated with high ceilings and a very pretty contemporary style. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Some rooms in this place have a shared bathroom. I booked one with a private. Still this seems to be a common thing in nyc so be careful when booking. We stayed in room 207 which was newly renovated. The only thing lacking was individual temp control, which we fixed with a space heater. A refrigerator and microwave would have been nice too. The room was very small, not good for more than two people.
Good7.1
Pros: The renovated rooms were very nice, however, they had been recently painted and the fumes were overwhelming, so I was transferred to one of the older, non-renovated rooms. Although the bed and furnishings were new (sheets, pillows and wall mounted TV, the walls (paint and plaster) and carpet were what you would expect in a no-tell motel. Also, most of the rooms "shared" a bathroom. Your bedroom had it's own door and you had to leave your room to go into a bathroom which was used by another room. It worked out fine. Still, it is a great value ($65/night booked in advance) for the location! There's a cute french cafe next to it for breakfast and you're never in the room (very small as most NYC hotel rooms) anyway.
Cons: It was a 5 story walk-up building - no elevator. After looking at 2 rooms (one without a window! and both freshly painted/smelly) we were transferred to the 5th floor and it was a struggle getting the luggage up the 4 flights of stairs (main floor/1st floor). It will be a very nice hotel once the renovation is completed.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Great value, comfortable. Perfect for a place to crash after spending all day in the city.
Cons: Theres no elevator
Good6.2
Pros: In general it appeared to be a nice place.
Cons: Got a GREAT deal on Kayak. Upon arrival we were given a different room than one we booked. Room we were given should not be rented to paying guests. It was ONLY guest room in the basement, in between boiler room and laundry room. Likely a converted utility closet. Garbage bags in hallway, staff yelling to each other and playing music in laundry room at 7AM. Can't help but think we were assigned this room as 'punishment' for getting such a good deal (nearly half off website price).

Pros: Very clean and spacious room. Very comfortable bed. It provides almost everything you need that you can imagine for a hotel.
Cons: It doesn’t have slippers or socks for customers
Excellent10.0
Pros: Clean, newer building, nice rooms, comfortable bed, quiet, central location, great staff. Annette at the front desk was particularly welcoming. An excellent deal for NYC!

Pros: All the staff was very nice, good mood.
Cons: I reserved a double and tey give me a king
Excellent8.0
Cons: Room was a little small. Was misinformed about a few things. Was given to free drinks tickets and encouraged to redeem them at rooftop bar only to arrive and be told that it was a private party and asked to leave.
Excellent8.5
Pros: The staff was excellent and courteous.
Cons: The air conditioning struggled and couldn't really bring the temp down sufficiently. Not enough towels, but brought them right away when requested. No sweetener and creamer in room. But, also brought that right away when requested.

Pros: It is in a good location in Chelsea. Next to the subway. It is easy to get to and has a number of restaurants nearby. The is also a Whole Foods supermarket a block away. I like this hotel and have stayed there twice now and would go back.
Cons: There is not much I didn't like. The staff could have been a bit more friendly and the wifi didn't work well but this could be because of the number of people using it. If that was the case they need to expand it.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Location, price, staff nice, left luggage available, comfy bed, clean rooms and linen.
Cons: There could have been a welcome folder with useful info ie breakfast time and subways to use and small tube of toothpaste to with the toiletries would be good.
Excellent8.5
Pros: No bells and whistles, but a clean, comfortable place with all the basics. Location is excellent and the price is good for that area of Manhattan.
Cons: Rooms are a little small, but I expected that for NYC. Overall, no complaints.

Pros: location
Cons: smoky hallways, small rooms, hard beds
Good6.0
Pros: The hotel was close to the red line 1 subway stop. The room and bathroom were clean. For the price it was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: There are only two elevators and it is not enough. Guests were not willing to wait and constantly were either close to or over max weight capacity. Also we ordered room service and they forgot about our order. It took them an hour and a half to make breakfast.

Pros: Price, location, clean
Cons: No gym, pool etc.

It was an amazing value, given the tremendous location! The room was on the smaller side, but very clean and tidy. The staff was beyond friendly, including the staff at the hotel bar. Would stay again any time I return to New York.

Cons: Check-in took forever. One person was working the front desk (with a manager inexplicably sitting in the back) and there was a line of travelers waiting to check-in. I was not greeted until 15 minutes after I arrived.
