Pros: As an interior designer, I have an appreciation to the level of design and details. The room was small, but because of thoughtful use of space, it functioned really well for our needs, plus with an expansive corner of floor to ceiling glass, it still felt open and airy. Great views. We loved hanging out in the public spaces, listening to live jazz. Only disappointment was that the roof deck was not open during our stay. Would have liked to have experienced that. The breakfast toast available in the lobby was amazing.
Cons: The HVAC system was loud. I did not sleep well the first night because of it. The entry doors are huge and heavy. While the ADA automatic door buttons were helpful, a door man would be a nice addition to help guests in and out of the Lobby with luggage. The elevators were slow. At times there was a line to get on the elevator on main level.

Pros: Modern design, the lounge area is designed to incorporate as co-working space where people can do work or have meeting, rooftop bar with great view to the city and empire state building, free bike rental, friendly staff
Cons: The room is a little small compare to other traditional hotel but it is really clever designed to maximize the use of space. There's only one glass door between the bathroom and the outside. If you share the room with someone, your 'business' could be heard.
"Located in Midtown, this luxury hotel is steps away from New Amsterdam Theater, Times Square and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Broadway and Bryant Park are also within 5 minutes. Times Sq. - 42 St. Station is only a 2-minute walk and 42 St. - Bryant Pk. Station is 4 minutes. "

Pros: We came for the birth of my first grandchild.the hotel is very modern and sleek. Our room was large and well appointed with all of the modern technological conveniences. The mattress was very comfortable with high thread count linens. The bathroom was large and had more bath accessories than I have ever seen. I.e. Cuff links, tooth brush, paste, etc. I loved the large soaking tub. We never heard any outside noise even though this hotel is located in Times Square From the front desk to the doorman, the service was incredible. Leilani, one of the managers even gave us a gift for the new baby. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Pros: The renovation last year really upgraded this NYC classic. Now the interiors are just as lux as the classic facade. Great location in Times Square but quiet and tranquil retreat inside. Great service and really friendly staff. We enjoyed our girls weekend immensely.
Cons: Avoid if you don't like fighting through crowds at Times Square.

Pros: The Knockerbocker was a very nice hotel with a great location. My only complaint was the day that we left, we stored our bags for a few hours. When we came back to pick them up, it took 20 minutes or so to get them. I had to catch a flight. The front desk was unapologetic about it. They just stood at the desk, while customers waited and were dissatisfied. They need to make sure they are staffed properly at a busy time, and if not, other staff should pitch in. It should be a group effort, because it makes the hotel better as a whole.

Pros: Once you get past the unprepossessing lobby, the hotel is really excellent. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was large, comfortable and well-appointed. It was bitterly cold so we ate in the hotel, choosing the bar's little plate menu over the Vlentine's Day special menu; each choice was delicious. Large, contemporary bar and restaurant (maybe showing a little wear on the cushions) and excellent service. Location, right on the corner of Times Square, can't be beat if you want to be in the middle of it all. Not cheap, but we weren't on a penny pinching trip. Worth every penny. Special mention to the concierge for fulfilling a couple special requests.
Cons: As noted, the lobby is decidedly underwhelming although the staff was friendly and helpful. Otherwise, no complaints!

Pros: The location is spot on, the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The check-in/out is easy and the personnel is corteous; we had t use their concierge services twice and they were friendly and prompt.
Cons: Given the hotel class and its prices few things could be better, like a Nespresso machine in the room (very common these days even in 4 stars environments) - a greater selection of TV channels would also ber good. Therer's a Samsung tablet in the room, but you can't really do much with it. On arrival with luggage etc. we had to open the doors ourselves - minial as it may sound, when you're loaded with luggage opening a heavy door isn't that easy especially when you se the door men happily chatting inside.

Pros: Continental breakfast was quite okay but could do with changes day-to-day. Consistent in room decor and stylien
Cons: Confusing lobby area. This could be fixed by relocating reception to the left side of the entry area rather than way up the end of the hall. It is too dimly lit too in my opinion. Our Junior Suite (1501) was quite dark with small windows. The complimentary tablet is a gimmick and is not likely to be useful to anyone with a smartphone or their own tablet/laptop. No hand towel rack—where do you put them? Disconcertingly loose bathroom/shower fittings. No coffee. Stain on couch.
"Located in Upper West Side, this eco-friendly hostel is within a 15-minute walk of Central Park and Columbia University. Mount Sinai Hospital and Beacon Theater are also within 2 miles (3 km). 103 St. Station (Broadway) is only a 2-minute walk and 103 St. Station (Central Park West) is 7 minutes. "

Pros: + Convenient location near 1 line or just a bit further to B and C lines + Locker was larger enough for 1 backpack, a grocery bag of stuff, and a medium-sized duffel bag. And still extra room, too! + All staff I encountered were really nice and helpful! + I left my pants in the shower stall for probably over 12 hours and they ended up in the lost and found. What a bonus! + Chargers *inside* the lockers and near the bed are super helpful and pretty safe

Cons: My complaints are minor. The fact that the food in the lobby is so expensive was a let down. I also didn't like the shower curtains because they kept falling down. My last complaint is that I didn't like the way the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were placed.

Pros: I didn't do a ton of research on Hotel Indigo before booking my stay and arriving at the hotel. We were in NY for a wedding and we received a discounted room rate as negotiated by the groom. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is hip and clean and in a great location. The proximity to Katz's is worth it. There is also really great coffee in this neighborhood. Try Ludlow right across the street from the hotel or Cafe Vita only a few blocks south. I would say the due to the room rate discount we were pretty lucky with the price we paid as the hotel was booking around $500 per night (their regular fee). I would say that $500 is over priced for that hotel but $350 or lower is a great deal.
Cons: Because there is a seemingly popular bar on the 15th floor of hotel you can run into some characters when it is just time to go to bed. Also when coming back home for the night the door man acts as security so you have to your room key on you in order to just get through the door. The receptionist warned us about this so we were prepared but I thought it was a little annoying. However as a guest of the hotel you get restaurant and bar privileges so there is no wait for you to get in.

Pros: Breakfast was mediocre. Dinner was ok but the wait staff needs to pay more attention to details. And the customer. When they delivered dinner they dropped the plates and disappeared. We didn't even have a chance to ask for silverware, which one of us was missing. We shared until we could get someones attention. Not an easy task here as they seem to go with the NYC theory, Don't make eye contact. When we were finished I asked the wait staff for our check (I hadn't seen our waitress in a while). We waited, and waited, and waited. I finally saw our waitress by the bar so I went over and asked for the check. All in all, a mediocre experience. The only plus is the location. I won't return. Not really worth the $$$.
Cons: Breakfast, Dinner. The pool is only open until 7PM. This is NYC. You know, the city that never sleeps? I guess the pool gets tired early.

Pros: Location was great with a lot of varied night-life options. Terrace bar and pool is something to check out for sure.
Cons: A/C worked well but was very loud especially with something loose inside that made a clunking noise constantly while the A/C ran. I called down after the first night to see if could be addressed. Engineering was sent while we were out but the problem wasn't fixed. We got in too late to deal with the second so had to try prob a chair against it to dampen the noise :(

Pros: Great look, great location. Clean, modern rooms. Perfect for me
Cons: Last night of my stay, my floor (9th) turned very noisy. Not just in rooms but up and down the hall. Younger crowd yelling to each other, etc. Felt like I was trying to sleep in the middle of a frat party! This was between 1-2am and went on for quite some time. It would have hoped someone would ask them quiet down on room levels.

Pros: Great location, if you can tolerate Times Square. Stayed in a king corner room on the 16th floor. Wife and I loved the bed, the view, and the bathroom. Subway doesn't get any closer, entrance is immediately outside lobby door. Gym was spacious, if you need that. Didn't try the bar/restaurant, just too many other choices in Manhattan. For that matter, nice bathroom and comfy bed is all we needed, as we weren't looking to waste time sitting in the hotel.
Cons: Again, location is great as long as you want to be very close to Times Square and all that comes with it. Noise of the city is audible on the 16th floor, but wasn't a problem for either of us sleeping through it. Wifi has a fee, but you can avoid it if you sign up for IHC membership.

Pros: If you want to be in the middle of it all at Time Square stay here.
Cons: Everything from the quality of room service, attention to detail and cleanliness, broken wifi, and price tag was incredibly underwhelming for a 4+ star hotel. The Hilton a few blocks away is a better value and so is the Westin across the street. This hotel felt stuff, old and dated.
Perfectly located on a charming, tree-lined block in Midtown Manhattan, our recently renovated hotel makes it easy to experience it all without spending it all on your hotel room. At the hotel, youll find comfortable, inviting spaces for relaxing or catching up with work, from our chic, comfy hotel rooms to our caf, patio and courtyard, and al fresco rooftop.

Pros: The location was good. The people we interacted with were nice.
Cons: While the staff was nice, they didn't do a darn thing. A smile and a kind word does not make a bed. I know this because one day we came back to a room that hadn't been serviced, reasons still unclear. We became quite close to Terrance, the front desk agent at night. Pleasant as can be, but it took 3 calls to get some towels delivered. We asked for tissues, and no joke- were handed a wad of tissues. Guess the boxes are for special people? Shampoo is also held in the vault. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so everything just steamed up. The shower was broken and given it's a wall of glass, it's a serious safety hazard. It also meant the water just poured out of the shower and puddled on the floor. A real problem when you can't get an extra towel. The wallpaper is peeling up and there was mold, likely do to the broken vent. The window in the room was broken. We figured it was safe with our son cause it really wouldn't open, but it also didn't quite close. The black out curtains were the dirtiest thing I've ever seen and had large (obvious) rips in them. Oh, and to top it all off they did maintenance on the plumbing and shut off the hot water. Guess how I found that out? Nope, not through a phone call or a note slipped under the door. But only once I was in the shower and the water just wouldn't get hot. I paid over $300 a night for this. I will literally never return to this location, nor will I stay in another Crown Plaza.

Pros: Location was excellent. Room was larger than the average for New York hotel but standard size compared to most locations outside the city. Room had been updated. Beds were comfortable and linens/clean. Had a view of Times Square and the city which was terrific. Rooms were very very quiet save street noise of sirens but it is a major major city so that is certainly to be expected.
Cons: Most everything was fine and complaints minor but they minor things did add up after awhile. First internet is not free and is $9.95 for only 4 hours. For the $$ would expect internet to be included. It is free in some subway stops for Pete's sake. So went with my cell network instead. However I was up above the 30th floor and was down to one bar; cell towers are often angled down. Therefore had to go downstairs for internet. Easy enough but an annoyance after awhile. Also had a couple of items go missing. At first we thought that sine they were in plastic bags on the floor and so the service staff may have assumed they were trash and threw them out. But after we lost two bags of souvenirs we began to suspect something. Unfortunately we did not notice the second bag was gone until we returned home. Again though we are giving the staff the benefit of the doubt that they just assumed the items were trash and threw them out on mistake.

Pros: Great hotel if you're a tourist and want to be in Times Square - easy walking distance to many attractions and not too far can / uber ride to others. The rooms were nice and clean, the maids always bought us new soaps, razors, toothpaste, towels etc.
Cons: some of the staff are seriously awful. My partner has a severe allergy to nuts, and we had issues with two waiters there who seemed preoccupied and had to ask a manager to go and confirm if there was nuts in a dish she wanted for dinner or not. The waiter made us feel awful and then progressively got ruder (getting in our faces, yelling, etc) after the manager had been involved. We did get given a few free drinks and a box of chocolates from management (although she couldn't have the chocolates due to nuts) But otherwise we had a lovely stay, only ruined by a few staff members who need to learn if you work in a service job it's part of your job to at least TRY and be polite and understanding!

Pros: Wifi speed was decent at 10Mbps.
Cons: There were literally no employees in the lobby so it took me a while to figure out there were kiosks for a self-serve check-in. Employees or better signage would have fixed that. Once in the room (tiny @ about 80 sq ft), the brochure mentioned that linens are changed every three days rather than with every check in which explains the pubic hair and the stains in the bed. It took housekeeping over an hour to come and change the bed. The bed was practically a fold out couch with a futon cushion that was not very comfortable. The toilet was covered in urine, the office chair in the room was missing wheels, the ice machine was broken, the carpet was filthy, and there appeared to be a transvestite rave going on at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Pros: Room was generally ok if you are single traveler but too small for two. Generally good vibe. Some staff really nice -- some seemed overworked.

They were friendly and went out of their way to help me when I had an issue with a lost bag at the airport. Really cute bedrooms, loved the extendable bed. Loved the beautiful view of downtown!
Cons: If you travel with a partner you should be very comfortable going to bathroom with them because the bathroom we had was essentially all glass with a thin curtain and sliding glass door separating us. Not really private, but again, if you're very close with your partner, no big deal.

Pros: - Excellent Location - Around the corner from the times square / Walgreens tower, H&M etc. etc. - Clean sheets and towels. - Really good Bloody Mary's. - Most of the staff were polite and friendly.
Cons: I'm not the type to give bad reviews.. BUT - I found boxer briefs from previous guests in the drawer of the night table, on top of the bible. Disgusting. It really made me question the importance of sanitation and thoroughness of the cleaning crew. - Not a good sleep. The beds were hard and the pillows were thin and flat. - The fridge and mini bar were missing from my room. - There were unknown charges to my account. And I tried to contact the hotel to question these charges, I was redirected many times. And I was always sent to a voice mail. Eventually, they told me they would investigate and that they would call me back. They didn't. When I called back the account billing personnel (Deborah, I think) was extremely rude and sarcastic, she redirected my call before I was even done speaking.

We returned to the room a few hours later to find a strong odor of urine in the bathroom & room. The toilet did not flush or drain properly. The bathroom was not clean. We were not able to use the toilet freely. I contacted the front desk & explained the above. I was told they don't move guest late in the evening & they would send someone up to work on the toilet. Also the building next door is undergoing construction which we were never warned of until we got there and I am a light sleeper, I was up until midnight and later with the jackhammer going off. I told the girl that I was a light sleeper at check in and she shrugged saying the room we had was as far away from the noise as possible but we were on the second floor on the same side as the construction. Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Yes
Cons: I was just surprised by the sheer number of things wrong. As we walked in we both thought. This is beautiful. As we checked in I was told I booked a king bed and I stated I booked a double. I showed the woman ( name omitted) my reservation and she said that a double room just means two people. Fine fine my mistake, I moved on. When we got to the room the heater was making a noise that sounded like an animal was in it. The shower frame was not attached to the wall, the shower door had no way to pull it closed from the inside, the shelf in the bathroom was slanted downward, as was the top of the toilet tank so nothing staying on it. I am a normal sized woman and I was I a difficult time getting dressed in the bathroom due to size. Check out is st noon as in many hotels, at 9 there was a knock on the door. When I answered it the cleaning staff was there and asked when I was checking out. I told them 12. At 1049 there was a knock again, the same staff member asked when I was leaving. Now you may say did you say anything... I tried. I tried calling twice ( was only there one night) no answer and wentdownstairs countless times, but as I was on a quick fun trip I didn't want to waste time. I was just surprising disappointed my my stay and it was compounded when I checked out and then checked into my next hotel, that for only 30 $ more, I not only had the amenities of a " normal room, I was actually given a premier room with a view, corner ceiling to floor windows, A kitchenette, complimentary unlimited filtered water, complimentary breakfast and a staff that was above and beyond. All of this just a few minutes from the roisevelt.

Pros: The room was ok.
Cons: I was very upset with how the reception treated me at checkout. I called the reception the day before and asked about the internet. The reception staff told me the standard internet package was free and included in the room. At the checkout I was shocked that they charged me for the internet around 15$! The manager showed up and I told him about the story but he told me I might misunderstood the reception staff and she meant the complementary 1 hour internet in the lobby! The manager was talking with a lot of arrogance and he insisted that his staff is very well trained and would never do this mistake of telling me wrong information. So the manager refused to take out the internet charge and I had to pay for it!

Pros: We loved the location and setting of this hotel, and we liked the price. We found the cleaning staff to be friendly. The hotel lobby and mezzanine are impressive. Concierge and doorman were responsive and friendly. For the most part, the hotel was quiet at night even though there were lots of guests (and we were there from Thursday to Tuesday).
Cons: Our beds were VERY uncomfortable and hurt my back. One time our housekeeper didn't clean our ice container - not the best feeling. THERE IS NO FREE WIFI IN THIS HOTEL. One of the smoke detectors didn't have a cover on it and there were some wires sticking out - it was too high up to be in our way, but looking up and seeing it was unsettling! The window air unit didn't work well. There is a glorified convenience store breakfast in the hotel bar/restaurant for 3 times the price of a convenience store. In the evening, the bar is okay. My wife and I had drinks and shared a dessert - it was pricey but good. Front desk seemed understaffed - any time I had to deal with them there was a long wait time.

Pros: The staff at the front desk was very professional and friendly. We were greeted with a smile and were checked in quickly. Upon check-out, we again had a very good experience. My wife and I also ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious.
Cons: The Adonis standing at the front desk (not an employee) flexing his muscles and looking around at everyone merely to see who was checking him out was a solid example of the clientele. The restaurant was filled with yuppies and brosephs, undoubtedly with nicknames like "Smitty", "Ace", and "Hammer", who seemed intent on being as loud and obnoxious as possible. There was an outdoor sitting area that was quieter, though crowded with the exact same guys, just about 15 years older. The room was smaller than a closet. I stretched out on the bed and was able to touch one wall with my hands and the other with my feet (I'm not all that tall, either). The bathroom was not made for actual people, unless normal people prefer to have their knees touch the wall opposite the toilet while... well, you get it. Be prepared, too, for the shower situation. There is a glass wall between the "bedroom" area and the shower. The only privacy is a sheer curtain in the shower, which, for me (since it was just my wife and me) was a pro, not a con, but that's neither here nor there. The only other attribute of note is that both the air conditioner and the seal on the window (10 floors up) had been repaired WITH TAPE! I'm going to stop now because my eyelid is beginning to twitch nervously, as I relive the frustration that came along with staying at this hotel. By now, you can decide whether or not I would recommend it to a friend.

Pros: The beer hall was great. The food, drink and atmosphere was something we enjoyed
Cons: The room we were given. Upon arriving the gentleman that was checking them in called a manager as the room we book was not available. The staff member was directed to give us a room a grade below what I had purchased. When questioned about it I got a blank stare and was told I had a $15 credit at the hotel bars. Seeing how my wife and I were running late for a event we went to the room. Upon entry to the room we noticed is was small. Not like oh cute small but really...really...really small. The HVAC unit for the room was way to loud and needed maintenance. One positive about the room was the bed. It was very comfortable. When we returned from out evening events we found the lobby to be shaking with club / dance music and drunk 20 somethings taking photos of themselves, yelling on their phones and stumbling around Next time we are in NYC we are not sure we'd stay here again even with the pricing being what it was. The next time around we will opt to pay a premium to stay in a larger room.

Pros: Very good location, with many coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. What I would expect from a NYC hotel, of cheaper value.
Cons: The shower is part of your bedroom with a clear wall, giving 0 privacy,to shower or use the restroom. Stayed with my mom and it was quite uncomfortable. The bedding consists of a bottom sheet and a duvet, that does not extend the length of the entire bed, so your shoulders are exposed. The hotel restaurant, we did not visit, had avert very limited menu. When we asked for things for the room to be fixed or changed to the cleaning staff, she responded " I know, talk to management". Also very thin walls, you will hear your neighbors tv, our we're quite so that's not a complaint, just a statement.

Pros: I liked the location, the way the hotel looks and the bar area was quite nice.
Cons: My main complaint with the hotel was the size of the room. It was extremely small. It might be manageable if it's one person, but if you're traveling with someone, forget it, room is just too small.

Pros: I liked the commitment to the theme. Everything worked to give the right mood down to the apparel of the staff and the butter knife served with continental breakfast.
Cons: I didn't like weight for the elevator and having to run to catch it before the door closed because the bank of doors is so long. I also did not like hearing the club music from my room at night. I was on the eighth floor and could still hear the base going.

Pros: Being we are in the middle of a pandemic, the staff was still amazing. From check in to check out, they were friendly, accommodating and on top of their game. This alone made the stay a very pleasant stay.
Cons: Unfortunately, the things that could have improved the stay were simply out of the hands of the hotel’s staff. We are in The midst of a global pandemic, and the Hudson staff did a tremendous job making my stay a good experience.

Cons: The hotel is apparently shutting down. Everything (including even the hotel lobby) was closed. Had to check in via make shift desk in basement/delivery entrance. Looked like it was falling apart. Staff was so minimal the “front desk” was often empty, requiring long wait to get help with anything. However they still had audacity to charge a “resort fee”. I’ve stayed over many times over the years- it’s unrecognizable. Definitely avoid. It will be closed down soon for sure.

Pros: The rooms are cool and dark and surprisingly quiet if nobody is in the hallway. The staff were doing their best, but dealing with a difficult set up. So on that front, I really want to be as positive as possible. I get this is a really difficult time. There is literally nothing else positive to say about this hotel
Cons: It is the middle of a pandemic, the first room we went into had dirty tissues on the bed and half the pillows missing. They did their best but took half an hour to find an alternative (using the last remaining minutes that anything was open in the area to get dinner). They haven't spent a cent on this hotel in the 11 years since we last stayed there - it was so rundown and awful that with the additional aspects of covid (temperature checks etc..) it was a quite dystopian experience. With holes kicked in the doors and walls, the stench of smoke everywhere, the once famed escalator closed and dusty, entrance through the loading dock, questioning at the security guards office and dark and closed off retail areas Stanely Kubrik couldn't have created a more realistic nightmare. Truly awful and memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Pros: This is the 3rd hotel of the Morgan group that I have visited and unfortunately they tend to repeat the same mistake, or probably is their business model that doesn't jive with me. The lobby and the location were the best part of the hotel. I would also like to mention their staff: warming and friendly.
Cons: The room was ridiculously small, especially the bathroom. Thus, if you are 6 feet tall you won't fit in the toilet. it also looked pretty run-down and not very clean. I had hairs on my pillow and in 2 sheets. The hallways had trays full of used dishes and dirty silverware till late in the evening. So their cleaning stuff is clearly sloppy and not managed at all. On top of that the hotel is pretty noisy due to a club they run downstairs, thus you should bring some earplugs with you if you wanna sleep. Lastly I found a cockroach in their gym (yikes). I wont return there.

Internet is very useful since my AT&T mobile hotspot connection was spotty. Needless to say, Timesquare, Subway train station , theaters and plenty of restaurants nearby.
Cons: First stay, I got a double bed , twin size. Hardly any place to turn. The second stay, I got double full bed, quite an upgrade to my previous stay. Well when my husband arrived they told him I had to be there ( I was flying in later that night), so I call and they say his name is in the reservation and they don’t know why he can’t check in. I ask to speak to the front desk. 3 HOURS and multiple calls and multiple run arounds, still not talking to to the front desk; a person at the call center tells me he checked already! Pros: The staff was nice, the location is great, and the price is pretty good. The bed was soft, the room was quiet and dark. The lobby is pretty fancy.
Cons: My room was small and pretty crumby. The whole place feels like a big cheap hotel that Ikea puked on. It is updated with modern fancy(but cheap) decor and fixtures. If you're not trying to impress anyone and want a decent place in the theater district, I would recommend this one.

Pros: The elevators speed very fast. Very comfortable beds. Very quite for most part except for outdoor noise which is unavoidable but not bad at all. Clean rooms. Great staff. The security is well above the norm, made us feel very safe. Locating is very convenient to all parts of the city. Loved the location. Rooms are small but we didn't come to sit in the room. There were two of us and we were comfortable wouldn't have wanted anymore than two in the room that we stayed in. For our first visit to NYC we had a fabulous time and enjoyed the hotel very much..
Cons: Lobby gets very crowded at times. Travelers using elevators for first time doesn't even consider that someone might be getting off the elevator and they crowd the door to the point you can't get off. No reflection on the Row but just be warned you can get run over before you get off the elevator.

Pros: The rooms are comfortable, clean and nice looking. The hotel staff are friendly (and there seemed to be a lot of them). I was there for business and the location was right, but for tourists this is a good spot right in mid-town.
Cons: There is a trend in NYC hotels: take an older apartment building, add blue lights and video monitors showing abstract images, along with bottom-lit check-in desks and then paint the rooms an aggressive color (dark grey is good) along with huge blow up prints of images of New York. Underneath the paint and lights is an old hotel or apartment building. That's Row, with a bar and loud music in the lobby, and the ability to mark up the room price. (See positive too...because at the end of the day its a comfortable place beneath the veneer)

Pros: Concierge- very helpful and friendly
Cons: Front desk staff - apart from one individual, staff were like zombies going through only the essentials. To be fair this may be a volume issue as the front desk is very busy and the staff have to manage languages from all over the world, which I will admit is no easy job. This creates delays in the check in process creating impatient (and rude customers). I will say they did handle the whining of people checking in with professionalism. Suggested solution - investigate peak period scheduling for front desk, specifically selecting staff with multiple languages

Pros: We have stayed at this hotel for many years, first as chaperones for a high school choral group that came every year when it was still the Milford Plaza, and now as retired adults who come to visit our son who lives in the city. We love the location, and the recent remodels add a very cool feeling to the hotel. Also, we are usually able to get good prices when we stay here.
Cons: The last few times we have come to the hotel, we have noticed just a couple of comfort issues. This last time, our room was very small. I know all the rooms are smaller, but this one was very tight. Also, we ended up with a double bed! I didn't even know they used those in hotels any more! Another comfort issue (and we have noticed this in the past two visits we have made) is that the roll of toilet paper dispenser is located in such a way that it makes it difficult to sit down on the toilet! It hits you in the side of the leg. Other than those issues, we have always enjoyed our stays.

The lobby is wide and decorated nicely. The elevator system is very efficient with elevators going to certain floors. The room was comfortable enough for the 3 of us.
Cons: They never have enough people working at the desk. There are always lines throughout the day. A desk for questions would be helpful. For a hotel with 1,331 rooms they need more than 2-3 people assisting guests.

Pros: Great hotel in the middle of everything, next to subway line. Inside hotel is the City Kitchen where you have a "food court" with many renamed local restaurants. Included breakfast was so so, not the best but good. Very clean room, they cleaned our room every day. Eight elevators, but always very busy.
Cons: Extremely small room, very noisy on 7th floor (at night all trucks and constructions work and you hear everything in the room). Thanks God we got the "Deluxe City view" because it was supposed to be a bit bigger. The view is not as good as other in the area but its ok for the price. One night we found a small worm in the ice from the ice machine. They should have better beds. But over all its the best option for the $$.

"Located in Midtown, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Madison Square Garden, Macy's and Empire State Building. Times Square and Broadway are also within 15 minutes. 34 St. - Penn Station (Fashion Av.) is only a 2-minute walk and 28 St. Station (7th Av.) is 4 minutes. "

Pros: location
Cons: this was the worst room I have ever stayed in during my life. Please refer to NYC health department and have them check the conditions of room#1512. the carpet was wet, room smelled like sewer, filthy. OMG-the bath room. I was really surprised that NYC is allowing these rooms to be rented. in addition, they did not have three beds in the room and end up bringing a cot and that took them 3 hours and more than 5 phone calls and 3 visits to the front desk. we considered moving out the minute we entered the room

Cons: The staff was extremely rude and not helpful. During checkin I initially tried to use theit kiosk because the line was extremely long but it wouldn't dispense the keys. I ended up having to wait on the line for 30 minutes. When it's finally my turn I'm told that there is a resort fee. Now I was never told this whole booking. According to the site I used everything was paid for. I've actually stayed here before and used the same company and never paid a resort fee. I try to explain this to the woman but she refuses to listen. Next it was time to swipe the card for incidentals but she claimed my card was declining. Apparently they need $100 deposit for incidentals. Again up until this point none of this was explained. When I begin to protest that the kiosk actually accepted my card but failed to dispense the cards iIwas told rather rudely that it probably did that because my card wasn't working. She then asked if i had another card or asked if I could call my bank. I told her I did not and I really didn't have a spare $100. She then tells me everyone needs to have money for incidentals without it she couldn't check me in and i would her to cancel. At this point i become upset. Why should i have to cancel a reservation that I already paid for because of this. The agency I booked with doesnt allow refunds the day of. I ended up having to speak too a manager to explain the situation. She proceeds to take over while the first person is protesting that I have no money. She then tells me to swipe my card. She ends up charging me the resort fee and allowing the reservation to go through. The same resort fee I never should have had to pay but I let it be because I figured paying an extra $20 is better than loosing the entire reservation. Finally the next morning when its time to check out there is another long line with only 2 people available. As far as I conn see they are doing checkins. I noticed there is achecking. Checkout box but wasn't sure if it was ok to put the keys on there and if I needed to fill out the little envelope the keys where in first. I walk up to where one of the people at the front desk is to ask but she has another guest so I wait patiently. There was also another person waiting there who needed to check out. Once she's done she begins to yell at us that this is not a line we need to make the line. I began to explain that I want trying to skip anyone but I had a question and I wasnt sure I needed you be in the line. She again started yelling that I needed to get on line and if we needed to checkout we could leave it in the box. I tell her that's all I wss trying to ask her in the first place and just walked away. Honestly if it wasn't simply for the location I would never stay here again. Their staff is rude, in need of training and very unprofessional. This isn't even my first incident with them. The last time I stayed there I spent over an hour on line trying to checkin only to be given the keys to someone else room

Cons: This place is a zoo. The people working here were unpleasant. The lobby was stuffed full of people all the time. They charge $5 to keep your bags if you get there before 3 or to hold them until you leave. (Note - the guy working in the bag room was actually very nice, unlike everyone else who seemed terribly bothered by things like checking us in). The tub in our room was peeling so badly it looked like a crime scene. The bed was like a board. The 2 pillows on the bed were the thinnest pillows I've ever seen. The lobby was nice (except the 100 people who seemed to be perpetually camped out in it), but the rooms haven't been updated since 1911. God forbid you need to call the desk for something. There are many lovely boutique hotels and options nearby. Stay away from this one.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: I have traveled all over the world, stayed in dozens and dozens of hotels and, there is no doubt, this one was the worst. This place does not even deserve one star. This is a tourist trap. Its predatory, it's low quality, the service is terrible, and they hit you with a ton of hidden fees and costs. I, like many of you, have seen this place pop up time and time again - it is often listed as one of the cheapest options in NYC. However, to be clear, there is a 40$ "facility fee" racked on to whatever number you are seeing; as well as, at the time of this review, a few hundred dollar "security deposit" that is taken from your bank account without your knowledge, and only returned once you have checked out. The experience began with my girlfriend and I waiting almost 2 - yes, really, 2 - hours to check in. The line was like waiting for a rollercoaster. I've never seen anything like it. While droves of people waiting to check in, two people worked behind a desk suited for up to ten employees. Not only were they understaffed but, for whatever reason, it took the staff members about 10+ minutes to check each party in. I could not believe my eyes. It was then that I was informed that I would be charged some ridiculous hidden fee, as well as have hundreds of dollars involuntarily taken out of my bank account - something I might need whilst on vacation - without my consent, money that has still not been returned to me. Now, the facility was built in 1909, I believe, and it must have all the original carpets and elevators. The rooms were tiny and cramped. It was 80 degrees on the day we stayed and the hotel informed me that they do not turn on the A/C until May , per the "city" - even though I stayed at a different place the prior evening with a fully functional A/C. When we finally checked out, THEY CHARGED US TO CHECK OUR BAGS. Again, I've stayed in hotels all over the world, this has never happened before! Oh, and they also have Fox News playing in every elevator and television - as if the experience could not be worse! I would not recommend this piece of garbage to my worst enemies. This place is a predatory tourist trap. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Pros: The humbling kindness of overworked, understaffed folks behind the desk who had to deal with countless angry customers who were unhappy with the extreme wait time in line or had come down to complain about the condition of their room.
Cons: 70 minute wait in line to check in, did not arrive to room until 1:00am after a very long day of travel. Room smelled moldy and musty, air quality was a major concern and window could not be opened. Aesthetics looked run down and degraded in a way that regardless of how well it may have been cleaned it looked dirty and questionable. Upon checkout the next morning, after only having spent 5.5 hours sleeping in the hotel the front desk tried to charge us an additional $34 "facilities" fee that had not been mentioned anywhere to the best of our recollection. We pushed back and said that we had not had time to use any "facilities" because of the extremely long wait in line the night before and the person at the front desk kindly dropped it.

Pros: Location- that’s it.
Cons: We booked our stay online (as I’m sure most do). This was our first stay at The Manhattan but not our first visit to NYC. The website pictures advertised updated, modern facilities, which was true of the lobby. However, once you get off the elevator, you realize the rest of the hotel (minus one floor apparently) has not ever been renovated. Upon walking into our room, we notice that the wallpaper and paint are peeling, the furniture is chipped, the bathroom is covered in pale pink tile and includes a fluorescent light box is not even bright enough to put your makeup on. After placing a call to the front desk, we realize this is typical of a “standard” room. The modern and updated pictures on the website actually reflect the “executive” room. We upgraded as soon as a room was available, and the facilities were much more consistent with what we expected. However, we had to then deal with the thermostat being defective, so our stay didn’t brighten up that much. We will not be staying here again.

Pros: The main floor lobby was done very nicely. The proximity to trains & Times Square was a plus.
Cons: Our room smelled extremely bad & even the man who brought up our bags noticed it & said something to us about how strong it was. It smelled strongly of weed. That smell lasted from when we entered our room until check out, our entire stay. We even kept the windows open. The only reason I didn’t complain about it was because we had adjoining rooms with the rest of our family & we wanted to be together. Also, the room is in need of updating especially the bathroom. The water in bathroom didn’t drain properly either. As well as the hallways on the other floors. It seems as if the only update was done in the main floor lobby because once you take the elevator up and the doors open it’s like you’re in a motel. The rest of the hotel is dingy & dirty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and I could not get comfortable with springs stabbing my back all night.

Pros: The location is superb and the staff is friendly. We had a decent view over Broadway. The price is b based on location.
Cons: Hotel is in desperate need of a Makeover. Missing grout in the bathroom, yellowing bathtub with soft spots, faucets missing screws and a thermostat that only knows "very warm", despite seeing it to 65 degrees (18C), no fan in the bathroom, are just a few of the issues. The parking garage under the Hotel is operated by a different company and is a disaster, both pulling in and especially when leaving. It took over an hour to get our car back, once ordered. Wr were told by others that this was common there.

Pros: The location
Cons: This hotel is very dirty and very dated. Mold is in the shower and tub surround. Carpet and walls are filthy. Check bed for bed bugs but didn't find any - THANK GOODNESS. The windows haven't been cleaned in years!!!!!!! Takes forever to get an elevator to the Lobby and you will stop on every floor with people piling on the elevator because they are sick of waiting for one! It took us 26 minutes to get down to the lobby one eveving. Oscar Jacques and Allison are very nice but other than that it's disgusting. It has no place to get food after breakfast. No room service. Vending machines are sold out and gives you back change for your dollars but only takes dollars the change slots are glued shut so you can't get anything!!! It was the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!! Electrical outlets do not work along with some of the lights!!!!

Pros: Location
Cons: 1. No communication by hotel staff. They tried to place us in a room that is half the size of a regular room without even telling us when we checked in. We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Hotel management spent 10 minutes explaining how they cannot keep the fully paid room and that upon check in they will place and assign the room of their availability. Why bother and pay in advance if there is no guarantee? 3. We didn't feel hospitality was there at all. It truly came across as just another place interested in making money rather than building long lasting experience 4. Hotel is definitely run down and it stinks super bad. 5. We would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not have given it 3 stars. Stay some place else!

Pros: Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee.
Cons: Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.

Pros: The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was excellent for our needs.
Cons: The hotel is tired and worn. It needs an injection of cash to update and refresh the rooms and fixtures. It wasn't the worst place to stay because it was clean and the location was great. The front desk was understaffed at both check-in and check-out. This created long lines and long waits. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready because they were behind on their turn-overs and we arrived at 8PM. They need to hire more staff for peak times.

Cons: Definitely needs updating specially their bathroom and noisy doors. Wish it was cleaner. The housekeeping people really needs to be trained to be quiet and not to shout across the hallway and slam doors in the morning. They also forget to refill lotion/coffee. Sink and bathtub was clogging water always.
