Cons: Some of the amenities of a 5 star include asking for anything and everything one requires, through the desk. I could walk to an ice machine faster than the line was answered-sometimes.

Cons: Confusing lobby area. This could be fixed by relocating reception to the left side of the entry area rather than way up the end of the hall. It is too dimly lit too in my opinion. Our Junior Suite (1501) was quite dark with small windows. The complimentary tablet is a gimmick and is not likely to be useful to anyone with a smartphone or their own tablet/laptop. No hand towel rack—where do you put them? Disconcertingly loose bathroom/shower fittings. No coffee. Stain on couch.

Cons: Service from staff could of been better, upon arrival no one greeted us we stood in a queue for 10 mins before asking staff where we could check in quicker. We were then told we were in the wrong queue and had to go to the back of the hotel to check in. Absolutely ridiculous bearing in mind it is very obvious we were trying to check in with all our suitcases. Staff were not attentive in the slightest and barely noticed we were there!

Pros: Our place was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was the largest I have seen in NYC. Our room was very comfortable. We come to NYC every year and this will be our new place to stay every year... the front desk went above and beyond and they were all very nice! AC in our room worked well and they cleaned our air filter when we arrived. The ice is brought to your room instead of a vending machine, not a big deal. There is a Pret A Manger next door that we went to every morning for breakfast items and brought back to room, EASY!

Pros: The hotel is dark and feels a bit worn out, but it still has a cool vibe. The lobby is really a meeting place and it is loud. We found it a bit intimidating. The staff could not have been nicer, especially the bellmen. The location really worked for us, my daughter was at NYU and I was travelling through Penn Station. The breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel as long as you know what to expect. The bed....heavenly soft with great linens!

Pros: The hotel is dark and feels a bit worn out, but it still has a cool vibe. The lobby is really a meeting place and it is loud. We found it a bit intimidating. The staff could not have been nicer, especially the bellmen. The location really worked for us, my daughter was at NYU and I was travelling through Penn Station. The breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel as long as you know what to expect. The bed....heavenly soft with great linens!

Since our stay in 2018 the service by staff has also gone downhill. We have had dirty sheets and dirty towels. It is no longer a 5 star hotel but it is still charging 5 star prices. Cons: Two staffers lied about our ability to park in front of the hotel only briefly.until 6 pm when parking was allowed on the street the whole weekend. We had tipped the valet for telling us she'd watch the car until then. She went on break and we got a $150 ticket. The manager didn't believe us when we told him what had happened and backed his staff instead. We were the big losers and the evening there cost us almost double what we thought we'd spend. He refused to comp us anything, which I thought he should have and the valet never even felt bad about keeping the $10 tip we'd given her for keeping an eye on the car. Bad people---all about the money, not about pleasing their guests. We were very disappointed to go up the the roof garden bar at 10 pm on a Friday night to find it closed. This feature was one of reasons we booked this hotel to begin with as it is mentioned on your website.

Cons: Seriously understaffed. Nobody to assist you with luggage on arrival. In general arriving guests completely ignored by the staff even though front desk not occupied. Ask the front desk for power plug adapter - they promise to deliver to your room. Has not happened for 2 days. In room dining not picking up the phone which forced us to seek breakfast outside (their loss). Aircon extremely noisy and permanently dripping on our belongings.

Cons: On arrival the info passed on by staff didn't cover all of the facilities or fully explain the daily hotel fee (wifi, food cupboard etc). Under 21s were not allowed on the roof bar to take in the views and photos. Basic kitchenette didn't have cutlery or enough glasses for 4 people.

Cons: The room was nice, no view at all but what bother me the most was the smell of the restroom. It smelled like a dirty mop. The housekeeping did nothing but the beds and took out the trash. Bathroom Sinks were left dirty and the smell continued. They combined our luggage with someone else’s luggage and only brought half of our stuff. I told the guy those were not our bags he instantly got an attitude and kept asking over and over ‘’are you sure these are not your bags? That’s the number you gave me’’ he asked this same question 3 times..... I think I know what bags I have. He then had me follow him to the storage room to look for our bags, found them BUT we had to carry them back up because he didn’t offer to bring them up for us. So annoying. Also the restaurant inside the hotel is pricey and food was not meeting their prices, but then again it’s NY

Cons: I did not like that there was no coffee maker in the room. That is key for me. They do offer cards to go downstairs to get free coffees from the cafe attached to the hotel, but I like to have coffee first thing. Plus, the room was small for a family of 4.

Cons: The service was standard , nothing notably outstanding. What took me by surprise was the absence of complimentary water bottle in the room. At least 2 is a standard across any hotel now, definitely expected of Intercontinental. Ww had no option but to order a large bottle charged at USD 21!!! Interestingly, the housekeeper brought us two bottles when he saw there was none, but by then we had already ordered from Room service, and they refused to take it back. I found that a bit strange, almost as if the housekeeping forgot to keep the bottles and then room service did not want to cancel a charge

The room was very tiny and looked I felt like I was in a fancy cell. Though this is my opinion, younger generation might like this way. Pod 51 is more like an upscale hostel, not hotel, therefore paying "resort fee of $20" is not appropriate to this kind of accommodation. Resort fee is not mandatory charge so please pay attention what you are paying.

There was a comfortable bed with work desk & mini bar in the main room, plus a kitchenette with microwave & coffee/tea, as well as a cooktop and dishes/pots/pans. The bathroom was great - good water pressure & the A/C kept the room nice and cool. The balcony was a nice bonus too! It was very quiet and peaceful and a great location close to the subway. Pros: This hotel was centrally locates and a block from the 6 train. Rooms we’re not as clean as I expected. Hotel staff was often sullen. The rooms stayed fairly cool, but staff would turn the ac off during the day and we would come home to a scorching room. Pretty nice for our family of 4 to have two bedrooms and two baths, but as everyone else said there was not any sitting room in our ‘suite’ There were only three rooms per floor and when others came up on the elevator it often sounded like they were entering our room, walls were so thin. I would probably not stay here again

Cons: There were several downsides that are the reason I won’t rebook when I visit next time. 1. The cooling must be motion sensor activated because it was hot every time we returned to the room and it got hot in the middle of the night each of the three nights we stayed, and we both would wake up miserable. 2. There is a full kitchenette but no paper towel despite a paper towel holder (which was glaringly empty) and a dishwasher but no dishwasher soap. The cleaning staff didn’t have any either, so if you plan to use the dishes in the cabinets, you may want to assume they haven’t been cleaned. 3. There is a cute little table to eat at and hardwood floors but it was all sticky, and wasn’t cleaned after we specially requested after the first day either. 4. There is so much stuff for sale in the room that it takes over the room. There is a mini bar will price tags on each item, not unusual, but then more stuff on top of the dresser, more on the nightstand, and then more taking up the countertop in the bathroom. I would have been willing to buy dishwasher soap, but alas, that wasn’t something they offered and nothing for sale was useful. It was like we were staying inside a gift shop will all useful space taken up with items they were peddling.

The rooms stayed fairly cool, but staff would turn the ac off during the day and we would come home to a scorching room. Pretty nice for our family of 4 to have two bedrooms and two baths, but as everyone else said there was not any sitting room in our ‘suite’ There were only three rooms per floor and when others came up on the elevator it often sounded like they were entering our room, walls were so thin. I would probably not stay here again

An email was going to be sent to notify me when a room was available, I waited and waited and decided to go back at 3 and the room was already available. I received the email around 6 telling me my room was ready. I was tired from the flight and couldn’t refresh myself because no rooms were available.

Cons: The Umami burger restaurant and the bar, which were a plus when you are tired of the long hot day in New York don't exist anymore. The terrace bar, from which I've watched the 4th of July fireworks, and the garden, don't exist either. The room is not very roomy and the bathroom is definitely small.

Breakfast was disgusting and basically self service stale bread on school trays with one toaster for entire hotel to share ( for $ 20 per head) !

Cons: Room was decrepit and noisy. (I have to admit it was quite large. Actually two rooms combined into one.) They do renos using impact hammers at night! Windows are not very soundproof, so in the city that never sleeps, neither do you. No in-room safe or fridge. But not even an ice bucket? If you arrive early, it costs $5.00 per bag to store your luggage. Want to use a restroom? You have to line up to get a key from front desk! At 3:00 PM, the check-in lineups are HUGE. Tried the kiosk check-in. It said our reservation didn't exist! (Previous person in line got the message that "Rooms cannot be allocated at this time. See front desk". It took well over an hour to check in. Only half of the check-in stations are manned, even at this peak time. We didn't get the key for the included WiFi access and the normal login asks for $20.00/day for two devices. Tried to call front desk to get the WiFi key. No answer. So we had to line up for another 1/2 hour (at 6:00PM) to get the key we should have gotten at checkin. You had to cross the road to get your "continental breakfast". You get a cup of diced fruit, one pastry, and a choice of either coffee or juice. Long line ups. Hard to find a table. Worse than any cafeteria I had while in school! Go get breakfast at any of the countless delis located nearby. On top of this, they charge a $40/night "resort fee". There was absolutely NOTHING we could see to justify this fee. On the final day, a staff person barged into our room at 10:30 informing us that the check out time was 11:00 AM. It's noon. Look it up.

Cons: Very old room with small bed and a window that took 2 of us to close. The hallways were creepy as well (think ‘the shining’).
