The housekeeping staff needs training in customer service
Bed was great. Nice having an Efficiency
Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time
Only thing to like is the location. Breakfast is good too ... but severely overcrowded and elevators almost unusable during breakfast rush.
Dirty room. Food smells from the street permeated my room. For two straight days all I smelled was fried food from somewhere. Never quite figured it out. The elevator buttons were not working ibny floor. So I had to go downstairs one flight to call for the extremely slow elevator. I was told by housekeeping that the elevator had not worked for a month... this surprised me since as an Marriott / SPG loyalty member at the highest tier... why would they give me a dirty and smelly room on a floor where you can’t take the elevator? Never going back to this property. Thought I would give this brand a try ...but learned my lesson.
Good size room with great view
Not far from subway 5 min walk to Times Sq
The lifts are a disgrace . We were on the 39 th floor the lift would come to 38 and go back down , when they did come they would stop on every floor on the way down when no one there. One lift had a fire and we were stuck on 39 for 45 mins ... NOT GOOD ENOUGH ..
Do not choose this hotel
Nothing, they lost our reservation
Hotel confirmed our reservation with Kayak but did reserve us a room. We spent all day on hold with Kayak who was on hold with the hotel to fix the situation. We were told that a good second option was to sleep in the train station. In general, staff was unsympathetic and unhelpful and we were not offered anything to make up for the mix up.
Our only problem was that the air conditioner was very loud and had several clicking noises and booms throughout the night that we were constantly woken up. But other than that the hotel was great!
overall hotel condition, cleanliness and how aged is
NYC 2017
Liked the view from room could see the Empire State Building ,elevated wait wasn't too bad for the 39th floor, staff very helpful for first timers
Didn't like that tv wasn't mounted on wall sat on a stand between bed and kitchen area hard to watch with other person laying beside you, parking was pricey and couldn't access vehicle unless u paid another fee, did not have good snow removal in street in front of hotel,
Dependable, Clean & Roomy
My husband and I always enjoy the Element, it's got everything we need. We stay there 2 times a year while we work trade shows at the Javits.
A total zoo
The location is convenient to many points of interest
3 elevators for a 40 story building equals 5 to 10 minute waits for the elevator. The included breakfast is worthless as the space is so crowded and trashed by 8:30 that it is unusable. The kitchenette in the room has no value for a weekend stay and the space it takes up means there's no room for your suitcase.
Comfortable and clean, good location, but staff no
Clean and comfortable bedroom, nice bathroom, location is very good, near Port Authority, Subway, Times Square.
The elevators are just 3 for more than 30 floors, what makes it difficult to get in in the morning, when everybody is trying to leave. I took more than 10 minutes to get one since it always skipped our floor. The reception desk staff was fine, but just that, they were not friendly enough to make you feel they really cared for your stay. I asked about the value for a late checkout since there was a transaction in my credit card, and they just said that they did not know about any transaction according to the value I showed to them. After the checkout, that was the value of my late checkout.
Elevator Issues
Breakfast, laundry facilities, nice rooms and bathrooms, kitchenettes, view, location
Too few elevators for the number of guests. Spent 20+ minutes waiting for the elevator.
