I talked to 7 different people in all corners of Sydney airport and no one knew what to do with me. My attempts to call Fiji Airways from my cell phone and then a landline at the airport didn't go through so I ended up messaging a friend in the States and she was able to call and get me booked on a NZ Air flight to Auckland that left the next morning. Both Jetstar and NZ Air gave me different information on what paperwork I needed and what my baggage and carry-on allowance was, which was frustrating. I finally arrived in Auckland 26 hours later than scheduled. I understand the cyclone cancelling the Fiji flights but the rescheduling error caused some significant expenses and a great deal of hassle."

Cons: "They called for uniformed services to board priority and when I went to the front with another individual in the Military we were RUDELY told we are not allowed to board unless we are in uniform. I am in the US Coast Guard and we are NOT allowed to fly in uniform. This does not mean I am not a part of the military and I should be treated with respect. I had my ID ready to present and only had one bag. The employee was very rude and told me to go to the end of the line. I will NEVER fly United again. I was wrong to think they took care of military personnel."

Tacky. When the same thing happened to another young person on my flight back, I suspected this is the way United runs its flights. I'm guessing United doesn't treat their employees well. They did just enough to be barely pleasant. I won't fly United again."

We were also harassed by not having the email that showed we purchased an Australian Visa which is digitally tied to our passport. If they need to verify our Visa, then they should have the electronic means to verify it. Also, we were traveling from Sydney to Auckland so since we were leaving the country I'm not sure why they had to see our Australian Visa in the first place. We were already in the country!"

Cons: "Delays happened the entire trip. I had my bag weighed on the way to Australia and they said it was fine to carry on. Then, on my way back they tried to make me pay for it to be checked. The bag was lighter. They also moved me because they had double booked my seat to a middle seat. Overall, very terrible experience. My first flight was delayed to Sydney and I missed my flight to Brisbane. They got me a hotel in Sydney for the night but the didn't tell us where to go to get the voucher. So after 10 hours of flying after 4 hours of delays, I was wondering around helplessly to try to find their office. They told us to go to the Jetstar counter, but no one was there. I got help from another airline as to where to find the office. By the way, their office is marked with a very little sign that is incredibly hard to find. Crazy experience, and I travel quite often."

At 39 kilos each way, that is $1,950 round trip. Once in the air a majority of the flight crew went to sleep. I was sitting in the back and wondered why there were so many empty seats. No not seats, but entire rows. The crew proceeded to all take an entire row and just passed out for the last 5 hours or so of the flight."

Cons: "Howzit, My experience from Melbourne to Honolulu was exhausting.I could not sleep.These are my reasons why: 1) Our flight was delayed from a 5pm to 9:55pm, then finally to a 11:55pm.departure. I had to check in after 2pm. because I had to return my rental car at 2pm. I went thru a 3rd party and I was unable to extend my rental car return to a later time. We were given refreshment vouchers at check in. 2) By the time we boarded we were extremely exhausted,thirsty,and hungry for we have been at the airport for 9 hours with only three $15 refreshment vouchers. 3) Then, after the meal service my son vomited because he said his child meal, a pasta dish, tasted bad like it was old or spoiled. He said it didn't taste fresh. The inflight staff was pleasant and helped me clean up with serviettes. Then, the inflight staff reseated the passengers in a row right in front of us to other seats ,because of the vomit odor was unpleasant, and so my son can lay down to sleep,because he was feeling very ill from the food. The problem was we had to book another flight immediately with another airline in order to make the other connecting flights to complete our trip home. Jetstar only was going to refund the amount of the cost for their flight and not the difference for a new flight as well. The new flight with New Zealand air cost us double what our original flight with Jetstar cost. We incurred an additional unplanned cost of over $1000. We would like to be reimbursed for the additional costs! We feel like this is the responsibility of Jetstar to its customers."
