Food was very good, nice touch with comp wine. Entertainment options were many and good variety. Hope to fly ANZ again someday."

Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia kept handing me off to each other since it was booked as virgin Australia but on an air New Zealand flight. Neither wanted to help at first. Finally virgin Australia ticket agent took pity and helped me rebook for the next day. This was after I was told by air New Zealand that I had to call the booking number for virgin Australia. I’m traveling from the US and didn’t have a cell phone that worked in Australia... which I explained and asked how I could call the number without a phone. Was promptly told to go over to Virgin Australia ticket counter where I made the one remaining agent who was closing the desks help me. However the airport lost my luggage and could not find where it was. I ended up spending three hours in the airport and still no luggage with the baggage company saying they have no record of it anywhere. Very frustrating trip."

I've always preferred Qantas, and the service is still generally good, but someone has taken their eye off the food offering. Back from NZ it was noodles with a sauce in a cardboard box. No cheese and biscuits, no sweet. Air Tahiti/Air Cailin, etc.. give a decent meal while on International.

Pros: "The Boeing 787 from LAX to Auckland was noticeably more comfortable than the Airbus 321 I flew to LAX to start the trip. Food was actually good!"
Cons: "For an obviously new aircraft the space between rows was horrendous. I am 5ft4in tall and when I sat down my knees touched the seat in front of me. When the passenger in front of me tilted his seat back I couldn’t even cross my legs! I like Qantas but I have learned to abhor American Airlines (which operated this flight), next time I will probably use Air New Zealand purely because of the seat situation."

After that, the person in the aisle seat next to my husband was willing to swap her aisle seat for my new-found aisle seat. But on long flights, greater efforts should be made to seat couples together."

Not happy. If I'd been told, we'll take this off you and damage it, I might have checked it normally. Our car seat was fine."

Also, the Kayak/Webjet tickets we were issued interfered with the process as the airline could not reissue us tickets directly. Moreover, one Kayak & Webjet got actively involved, they even tried to deny us passage on the alternate flights that American Airlines suggested. By the time we did make it up to the desk, everything was taken/full for the next few days & we have been struggling to make our overseas travel even possible ever since."

There were delays in boarding but once aboard everything was excellent. The crew could not have been more attentive or accommodating.
Our first leg from Fort Lauderdale to Toronto was delayed three hours because of ground crew issues. We missed our connection but Air Canada booked us on the next flight out. That was great. But then, they held us on the plane for almost two hours while they waited for other delayed flights to come in. I feel that they did this so that they didn't have to put these passengers up for the night. So they ended up inconveniencing the rest of the people on the plane. I would have felt badly for those passengers, but they didn't hold any flights for us.

She coped well considering there were multiple people asking questions at the same time. There was a small sign instructing persons who had obtained boarding passes and luggage tags to go to baggage drop but no signs or separate lanes to indicate where that was. Very disorganized. At the gate it was the same scenario. Agents at adjacent desks were calling boarding instructions for multiple flights at the same time. Our Vancouver flight was never actually announced but passengers all started lining up because the stated boarding time had passed. It was impossible to tell which flight was calling for which boarding zones and everyone was wondering out loud "what is going on here?" Once finally aboard we sat on the runway, our flight left an hour late and we missed our connecting flight in Vancouver which, I realize happens. However..."

Pros: "As a professional musician, flying with my viola is one of the most nerve wracking experiences, as if it is forced to be checked due to insufficient room for overhead baggage, it could be completely destroyed. As stated in Air Canada's online policy, passengers traveling with musical instruments that fit as carry on baggage are allowed to change to earlier boarding zones. After approaching a staff member with my viola, I wasn't simply assigned an earlier zone, but rather I was allowed to board first. On this principle alone I will be flying Air Canada again. Thank you!!!"

Pros: "Lufthansa was amazing food, entertainment, condition of plane, service, etc... Compared to Air Canada! We had a Aur Canada ticket but it was Lufthansa operated. However, Lufthansa comfort not as good as we were cramped in small seats and couldn't see out on the long daytime flight because the window passenger closed all the windows (it was like being cramped in a cardboard box for ten plus hours... Thank heavens for the great drinks, food, water, and entertainment."

Seats far too close together for a long flight. There was more legroom on the Jazz flight from Montreal to Ottawa! 4. Entertainment kept breaking down. Headphones for my wife did not work, and eventually both of our screens went dead. Her's quit right in the middle of a movie. Bad!! 5. Boarding passes had zones on them, but these were totally disregarded in boarding. This resulted on overcrowding, long waits, etc. Hard on older people!"

I was so looking forward to that 787 flight. Ended up on an A320. I had to have a mad scramble to change my seat assignment as them moved me to a middle seat. I need an aisle seat because of a handicap so I got that changed just in time. Then When I got my boarding pass printed I got a gate number. Which got changed between the printing of the boarding pass and the walk to the gate. The flight was fine. Just getting to the flight was an adventure. Then I forgot my neck pillow."

Pros: "the accommodation of the carry on in the compartments, it is absolutely disturbing and dangerous; specially and such of huge plane like the one I flew. Passengers should have the right to have a least 1 registered for free luggage to avoid such of chaos, possible injuries and delays. i feel horrible for the flight attendants for such of task of carrying and moving so many luggages."

In the past airlines complained about cost of fuel, gas, but now is cheaper and we PASSANGERS never have any consideration flying. Another fact is the seatis are too small, I had to share my seat with two overweight women and they occupied part of my space, I was so uncomfortable, I requested for another seating and was not possible due to the fullness of the plain. I standed up many time not rubber and feel the heat of that person on my left side. overweight people should be suggested to buy double seating."

Cons: "Have you heard of an International flight without entertainment? That's just the surface. Our flight from Athens to Toronto was delayed 4hrs causing us to miss our connection to NYC. When customer service was called for assistance to get another flight, we found there were no flights out after 8 pm. I appreciate the vouchers for food and hotel. But after 35hr of traveling to NYC we come to find that our luggage was left in Toronto. Traveling with Air Canada was a series of poor customer care and negligence. I was very disappointed."

Cons: "To start, this flight was overbooked which I understand is a perfectly normal aspect of flying. However, the seats on this airline were so close to one another my legs were hitting the seat in front of me. I'm a thin 6' tall man, and I was uncomfortable the entire time. I've flown Air Canada many times but I've never experienced such a cramped seating experience with them. It was as if they added an extra five rows to the plane."
