Cons: Hotel was closing early on the day of departure so were unable to store our luggage passed 1.30. This wasnt convenient as our train wasnt until 3.30. We ended up storing our bags at the train station at a cost of £25.

Cons: During our 3 night stay, I called each day twice to request a straightener and they never had one. It worked out fine, but it was offered on the card in the room. I was hoping there would be at least one day I could use it. Otherwise, great stay.

Pros: Great location. Beautiful building with a beautiful roof garden and wonderful staff. We chose this hotel as we have a young baby and don’t really get the chance to leave the hotel in the evenings. You don’t need to at the Glasshouse.

Cons: The room cleanliness was a let down. Having a young baby we expect to be put away from other paying guests but the room should have been inspected first. It didn’t look like it had been valeted. As we were settled we were settled we didn’t complain at the time as were in no position to switch rooms. This was mentioned to the concierge on check out.

Pros: Great location, on foot you can see a very big part of the city and enjoy the views at the same time

Pros: My husband and I stayed a few nights here for our belated honeymoon. The staff went above and beyond during our stay, congratulating us on our nuptials and allowing us to celebrate with some complimentary drinks. Unfortunately my husband fell ill, and required bed rest. Again, the staff were more then helpful, asking if they could bring him tea, and checking in on him whenever I went downstairs. We would definitely stay here again! Absolutely beautiful rooms and amazing service

Pros: Location is brilliant, central yet calm, ok decor. Downstairs area for guests to sit and wait is great. Simon, the operations manager, despite his young age was very professional, energetic, smart and had outstanding listening skills and got the job done most efficiently. He would make an outstanding hotel manager in my opinion and could be seen running everywhere 'putting out fires' due to limited staffing, I suspect. Reckon should be poached by 5 star with more funds and better staff schedule mgt (here resources too low to do this well). Pool area is good. Spa is outsourced and has friendly personnel and good treatments. Bed was very comfortable and had good bedding. New room after cleaning mishap was clean and comfy and all our things were moved by them at my request so our day could keep going withoit further hassle. Check out time was flexible (12pm to 1pm) which was great for late departures/ later plane. Reception staff overall professional, responsive and doing their best. Female manager ok, but seemed just a good receptionist, not an energetic decision maker. Great to have taxis in front of hotel and all tours close by and Edinburgh castle about 10 min away. Airport bus connection (last stop) at bottom of hill. Steep 5-10 min walk to get to hotel, but managed with my 9 year old.

Cons: I found the place a little understaffed in the cleaning department. The second floor was disappointing, but the fifth floor was great. I didn't like one of the male back office managers tell Stefano, one of the receptionists, off in front of guests. Very unprofessional image and putting bad atmosphere into the hotel. Also bringing luggage up was a favour as portrayed by the tone of Stefano, so that we carried our own luggage up, which does not scream 5 star. Insisting on having luggage brought down at the end of the stay took 2 phone calls to reception and one to concierge and 30 min....Concierge only there during the day. Breakfast had lots of choices but was made up of cheap options and had nothing homemade/any local specialities. Felt like Aldi food without the organic options. No cakes. No walk in showers. Baths need updating. No drinks were free, not even water bottles in the room...no welcome chocolate or flowers...no personalised note...no minibar....no downturn service. Big push to become a Radisson member and getting points only if not going via booking.com. Getting room service on top of prices that were about x4 also required a delivery fee! Understaffed in high traffic times (end of breakfast- time should be extended/ check out time). Kitchen and room service personnel understaffed. A lot of cost cutting exercises, felt more 3 star than 5 star in the way it was run.

Pros: Spacious suite living room, separate half guest bath, Decent breakfast with separate order menu, gym had free weights to 30kg, location is on royal mile down road from castle (but for Christmas markets and shopping, a princess street hotel would been better), overall friendly staff.

Cons: 1. For a royal mile suite, main bathroom was standard. Overly spacious living room really could’ve spared space for a more comfortable bathroom befitting suite. 2. Website advertised kids eat free. However, when we ordered meals for the kids via room service, we were told it’s not free. Extremely deceptive and off putting of brand. 3. I emailed the hotel 1 week in advance of 4-day stay and asked for milk, orange juice, and water in room stocked and included room mini fridge. Email from customer service acknowledged request and even confirmed we still wanted wine and beer - a nice catch! However, when we arrived, we were informed juice and milk not included. False service promise should’ve not been made. Room service food was Not worth price (pizza, burger, and kids chicken meal were only ok but far more expensive than eaterery options all around).

Pros: Beds were super comfortable, standard room was really big, shower was powerful, always given fresh fluffy big towels, staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was excellent for sight seeing, train station, shops and pubs. Will definitely be returning for my next visit.

Pros: The hotel is on a busy straight with loads of activity, restaurants and pubs . It is a stones through from the castle and everything is a stones throw from it . Most we had to work to an attraction was 10 mins . Check in was super easy and Flynn have us some advice on the best places to shop and eat , and how to get there . Room was amazing super modern , spacious and clean . Bed was a queen size and very comfy . Bathroom is clean and spacious with a great shower and toiletries. Food and drink are super tasty just a little expensive. All the bar staff are very friendly and Aaron served us one night and we had a lovely chat with him . Hotel felt very like home and was super toasty and warm during the winter In Edinburgh. We also got white chocolate covered strawberries on arrival, a lovely gesture

Cons: One morning our cleaning maid was not very happy that she had to return and left abruptly sighing as we weren’t ready to leave because of the long flight the night before . But that was very minor and wasn’t a big deal to us :)

Pros: Old world charm meets modern amenities- you can't go wrong with this hotel right on the royal mike in Edinburgh. Excellent staff, well maintained rooms, and full service. Health club has good assortment of machines and free weights.

Cons: It's bloody cloudy in Scotland- spent an entire week and didn't see the sun once.

Pros: Great location on the royal mile. Superior room was very comfortable and perfect for our needs. Parking option was great. Stayed Saturday night, attended a show on Sunday arvo but could leave our car and picked in up early evening for no extra charge. Staff were great.

Pros: The whole hotel experience at the George Hotel was completely faultless. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms were spotless, warm and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The flight was cancelled on our return and had to stay at the George Hotel an extra night, the staff welcomed us back with mulled wine! Excellent stay, thank you.

Pros: I booked a room at The George Hotel as a special birthday treat for my husband. I wanted somewhere right in the city and this was the perfect location, we even managed to find a parking space! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever stayed in!

Pros: From the minute I walked into the hotel I felt very welcomed. The staff were attentive and perfectly freindly and professional. I travel alot internationally and truthfully feel that this was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in my life. Being that I do travel alot, it means the world when you can sleep peacefully in extreme comfort. From arrival to departure the George was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it and will return there when in Edinburgh. A gentleman named " Willy" was a gem, very helpful. Thank You.
