Cons: We had a disaster, while we were asleep at just after 6 am the glass shower screen exploded it was like a bomb going off glass everywhere, just happy neither of us was in there. We had to move room from a double to a twin. We could have waited for the double room later on but did not want to move twice on a 2 day trip. This spoilt what would have been a very pleasant stay. Holiday inn refunded the cost of a nights stay ,but i am very disappointed that booking. Com did not inform me that there was building work going on.

Cons: On the day we were going booking.com reduced the price by £35. We had no come back despite booking. Com advertising price matching because it was within 24 hrs. Check in took ages and tbh listening to numerous people checking in before us being offered upgrades inc breakfast for £25 less than what we paid for standard room only is nothing short of scandalous. We spend a good amount with booking.com. No more profile being deleted and will book direct in future or with competitors. Print this review if you dare !

Cons: The wait staff at breakfast were pretty mixed. Service on the first morning was very slow... I waited 40 minutes for my cooked breakfast... I was busy in a meeting with my colleague and I hadn't actually noticed until one of the senior staff pointed it out... and then agreed to waive the cost. Very good service and it was her response to the issue that was impressive and ensured it wouldn't put me off returning. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very slow the following morning too and I had to ask several times for both the toast and the tea... I think one of the waiters needs a little more training in how to look after customers as some other customers may be less forgiving or wouldn't have such a good manager on duty confident and customer focussed enough to be able to resolve the situation. I have stayed at Malmaison hotels many times over the years and I know this is very unusual, so it will not put me off in the future...

Pros: Very easy to access and there were plenty of shops and restaurants around, which made it easier to buy supplies.
Cons: The sheets were awfully dirty (blood, sperm stains). One night, the hot water was not working but the staff kept insisting that the hot water button had broken. I grabbed the opportunity to show them the stains and they offered us a new room (we had to pick up the key ourselves!!). In the new room, what we found was even more scarring: mattress without protection and full of blood/sperm stains. I went downstairs to the receptionist and she gave me new sheets... Again, they were (a little) dirty... When we left our room, they offered us the luggage service (£5 if a remember well). What a deal... In other words, it is nice if you want to have very cheap holidays outside the summer season but don't go there if the price is well above the average.

Cons: We had to pay for EVERYTHING, including the plug convertor and to keep our luggage at the reception for 2-3 hours the most. I travel a lot and in countries like France, Greece or Italy you don`t need to pay for this extra stuff, regarding the fact that we didn`t have soap or towels in our room ( unless we alreay took some with us from home or buy /pay for them, of course)

Cons: When we walked into the reception we were greeted by two women who didnt look particularly impressed we were there. They went to get a man who came and checked us in. He was really lovely and much more friendly. We had to ask which way we were going to our room. There was a kettle in our room however no plug socket near it so im unsure what the purpose in the kettle being there was. There was a socket behind the bed (we had to move a cabinet to charge our phones) and a plug socket on floor level over by the door - neither were practical for the kettle.

Cons: Bed uncomfortable - not the largest of double beds - creaked with every movement. Room too hot - pipes to boiler ran through our room for all the other rooms. Plumbing noisy - could hear every time other residents used bathroom facilities. Daily continental breakfast does not come with the package, has to be ordered and paid for separately even though this did not come up on the booking form as an option.

Cons: All the help line numbers did not work when I was trying to get wi-fi. I thought the wi-fi was included but I had to pay extra. The stairs to the basement room were difficult and I was offered no help on check in. The room was incredibly hot and had no windows or doors to open. If the reception is in a basement next door, do let guests know!

Cons: The only issue we had was with the lack of any hot water in the shower (there was eventually some into the wash basin). We weren't able to raise this with anyone as when we checked out there wasn't anyone to inform.

Pros: Didnt stay for breakfast. Location was fine.
Cons: Room was very small and we could here conversation, and snoring from next room. One bed was right up against a radiator, lucky that the heating was not on.

Pros: This very cheap accommodation gave everything you'll expect for one night: a good bed and a hot shower. It was a narrow old furnished room, but clean and with this price it was first class for me.
Cons: Nothing to complain with this price.

Pros: Shower/sink, sheets and towels scrupulously clean. Concierge friendly and helpful when we requested extra coffee supplies or called to check we would be able to get in when returning later at night. Shower was surprisingly good! Plentiful hot water and decent water pressure made for an enjoyable experience. (I often find this to be lacking in many hotels!!)
Cons: Whilst the beds were comfortable and clean, the room was pretty tired. Wooden headboard and bedside tables could do with a spruce up and the wardrobe space was pretty scant. Curtains hanging off rail on one window, and a broken blind on another meant we didn't even attempt to open that! Bedside lamps - one didn't work, the other was held together with duct tape. Looking at pictures and reading other reviews, it appears that there is an ongoing programme of renovations and I guess we just ended up in a room which hasn't been spruced up yet. I would certainly make a return booking (and hope we were given a nicer room!)
