The ramp lift at front door not in operation as my mother struggled to get up the few stairs. Height of beds in disabled rooms as they were hard for people with mobility problems get in & out.
The bar area was nicely decorated and breakfast was very good- the rest of the hotel did not match the communal areas
The toilets in the bar/reception area were very shabby and the cubicles were very small- very tired pink! our room was very tired and the bathroom very shabby. we had a twin room but only given towels for one. check in was delayed by over an hour with no offer of compensation..... a free coffee while we waited would've helped.
The location was excellent. Very close to the railway station and the Christmas markets
The room was really nice and location was ideal and view from the window would have perfect for the Xmas market (if it wasn't for the scaffolding).
The bar was understaffed, the bar and the tables weren't being cleared of empty glasses, took a while for someone to serve drinks. We weren't notified that there was a scaffolding along the front of the hotel and that our room was right beside the access for the workers onto the scaffolding and that they would banging and hammering 1st thing in the morning. We understand that upgrades works are essential but some notification or at least don't put guests in the rooms directly beside where they are working. When I booked the hotel in advance of our stay i thought we were getting a good deal for the location and type of hotel it was but when I went back on the site on the day of our arrival, our room was £10 cheaper for the same deal, pretty disappointed to find that. I emailed the hotel in advance after seeing a review about someone having an early check in at 12 and requested if this was possible but was declined with a quick response.
Hotel staff were very helpful. The breakfast was good and had a wide selection to choose from. Beds were comfortable and the location of the hotel is fab. So close to all attractions
Rooms are slightly dated now and the bathrooms could do with being upgraded.
