It was less expensive than other hotels in the area. The area around the hotel is nice and it is placed next to a river.
The room was dirty (trash and crumbs on the floor), and there was a used bandaid in the bathroom shower soap holder. After notifying the staff they said they would sevice my room and after they did the bandaid was still there and the empty tissue dispenser was not filled. The bed was uncomfortable. The wifi is a hassle - only able to stay on 20 min at a time. The shower handle was broken. There is a lack of power outlets next to the bed. There was not a "Do not disturb" door hanger for staff to bypass the room when on cleaning rounds.
Reception staff seemed very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was below standard, limted or no supplies of breakfast items, mushrooms, beans etc. Staff seem very busy. Our door card/key didnt work at all, even after 8 different keys in two days the receptionist had to let us into our room using the master key and had to call maintenance. Which involved us having numerous trips up and downstairs to reception. Location isnt too far away but having to walk into town and back is a bit of a treck. Perhaps a bus time table and an idea of tourist bus stops could be put in the rooms to assist with this. As someone who isnt familiar with the city or bus travel we had no idea so gave up and walked everywhere.
The location was good, about 15 minute walk into the city centre where all the bars and restaurants were. You get what you pay for, a very basic room, it’s ok for a few days away, but we didn’t sleep well due to the beds being solid.
The staff were lovely, the gentlemen on reception were helpful guys, very chatty and good sense of humour. The Chinese lady wasn’t receptionist material, not very service with a smile or helpful.
Great price and free parking
Room was clean breakfast was fine
Staff very rude some couldn't speak English therefore we couldn't communicate staff forgot to provide me with breakfast vouchers so took a while for it to get sorted
