Cons: Having a city view room and being on the 6th floor. Overlooking a rooftop. Being put on the sixth floor and being asked if I would like an upgrade.

Cons: I specifically booked to take use of the swimming pool. but upon arrival to check-in I was informed that the pool was under construction and not available.

Cons: In terms of the neighborhood, the Tenderloin is right next to Uniom Square, has an abundance of homeless people. The bathroom only has a glass sliding door and is not a separate room, and therefore has less privacy. Room could have been slightly bigger.

Cons: Aggressive panhandlers all over the city.

Cons: Suggest vanity mirror in bathroom as counter is very deep so difficult to apply make up. Restaurant was disappointing. Expensive for tiny salmon portion. Dessert still had bits of foil on it so assume it was of industrial variety.

Cons: This part of the city sadly has many, many homeless people around. Also, some shady characters.

Cons: The movie rentals were expensive and did not have many options. It would have been nice if the rooms included a Blu Ray player.

Cons: The room was older looking than I expected. I thought for the price of the room everything would be new. A little disappointing, but didn't change our plans. I didn't like paying $50.00 per day for parking in addition to the room rate.

Cons: Valet parking and hotel entrance around the back of the building. Both the party we were meeting and us pulled up front to what looked like the front of the hotel, was nothing to indicate where to go. Some signage would be helpful. Great workout area but having to pay an additional $25 to use felt excessive.

Housekeeping was bad -- there was a half full highball glass in the hallway outside our room for our entire stay. When we arrived on a December evening the room temperature was set to 54 degrees with cold air blasting in. Overall not a friendly or welcoming environment, unfortunately.

Cons: Since we were there during the renovation, there were no shops, etc. They had shampooed the carpet in the halls the day we arrived and there remained a wet rug smell throughout our stay.

Cons: Confusing layout, couldnt easily located the front desk for check in (temp location due to redecorating.) Also, booked a king, was given a queen with a "better/more expensive view" not cleared with us before. It was too late to change rooms when that was offered.

Cons: Needed spa after some gruelling walks (need to be fit to get around) or simply jump on cable cars outside hotel ;). Although We found city pricy, hotel food offerings were excessive to say the least (no room service either?)Management has to know within walking distance are some great options for meals that are easier on your wallet.

Cons: As with most SF hotels the price is a little steep, but more reasonable than many. The cable cars were a little noisy, but didn't really bother us. Valet was over $50 for 24 hrs, but that's kinda how it goes in SF.

Cons: The room size was a little small for the money, and you could hear everything from the hallway and surrounding rooms.

The rest of the staff seemed unimpressed with the hotel themselves and in fact mocked the hotel for intentionally using "false advertising" to lure customers into staying there. Upon arriving we received a "complimentary upgrade," which off the batt seemed wonderful, but once we entered the room we were appalled; we couldn't even imagine what our original room would have looked like. When I called down to complain about the striking difference from the pictures on the website the woman at the front desk replied that what I saw online was called "photoshop." The room was spacious, but empty; there was no headboard, safe or amenities. The hotel offered nothing, but rooms and was not the kind of place you looked forward to returning to at the end of a long day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never return myself. For a couple hundred dollars more I could have stayed at the nicest hotel in San Francisco. This hardly ranks with the top hotels in the city, despite its high prices and false four star advertising online.

Cons: I had stayed there many years ago when the hotel was a 5 star property and was disappointed to see that it was now a 3 star.

Cons: Somehow, the hotel reservations people decided I should pay for an extra night when I had cancelled that night the previous week. The lady at check in was very helpful and was able to resolve the issue, but I was disappointed I had the issue in the first place. It was not clear to me why this happened. The room was nice - but quite expensive in my opinion.

Cons: The check in was one our delayed and the people in the front desk were not very servicial. Since it’s in the top part of the city, walking with kids or senior people is complicated. Breakfast options are not really option, it forces you to buy the full buffet.

Cons: Urban tax fee is a shady charge that was not explained at check in, The fee is for bike rental and internet, yet the Wi fi was listed as free and you would be insane to ride a bike down the hills. I had to argue to get it removed.

Cons: Room needs renovation. Restroom is small, couldn't find light switch when we get in the room. Booked king bed room and was given a double bed room, staff told us nothing they could do. They did give us some credit but only end up buying some water, because there is none in the room.

Cons: The additional 29.00 added for destination per Room this will deter me from staying in the City of San Francisco and stay in another city and just come to the city in the day time, don’t add me no charges extra!

Cons: You're still downtown, so you walk out and it's a lot of homeless and the streets smell of urine, bad. The hotel staff is in no hurry for anything. Toom service took 1.5-2 hours and we even had a package delivered and they never bothered to bring it up. After three hours we told them forget it we'll get it ourselves. Cleaning staff is super nice. They were doing construction there so don't bother trying to nap during the day, because they were jack hammering the lobby. For the money I think there's better.

Cons: Staff gave me key to wrong room upon check-in. The rooms have seen better days...seem a bit beat-up. The tile on the lobby floors and in elevators was obviously installed before suitcases with wheels became common.

Examples: (1) concierge and room service rang out after trying repeatedly reach them for 10 and 15 minutes; (2) waitstaff in bar/dining area was slow and inattentive; (3) we needed 2 extra blankets and they initially resisted until we convinced them we were using all the blankets in the room and were still cold; (4) the food and beverages were overpriced and barely mediocre.

Cons: Beds could have been more comfortable and I didn’t appreciate the extra daily charge and parking per day.

Cons: Our room wasn't cleaned very well. There was hair on the walls in the bathroom. A dog biscuit on the floor and the carpets were dingy and needed a deep cleaning. While it was a nice hotel it was very expensive for the accommodations you received.

Cons: All of the addtional fees for parking and "resort fees". Granted we got a deal on the cost of the room, so we're not complaining too much but the actual cost of the rooms are very expensive and then to add over $150 of addtional fees when checking out is a little crazy. But, overall, we would be willing to stay here in the future, if we make it to the west coast again.

Cons: The worst hotel experience I've ever had. Even though I did book at the last moment, there was nothing about the hotel to justify a rate of 200 a night. A creepy, worn hotel. A long, darkened hallway leading to a room next to a darkened stairwell, whose door I could barely fit through. The room was small and adequate. Worn carpet, fixtures Small, awkwardly laid out bathroom. Other than the location I can't think of anything to recommend this hotel.

Cons: I specifically asked for a room that would be away from street-type noises....I was given a room overlooking the town bus terminal! Back-up beeping, diesel engine and loud communication until after 1 AM!!! The bathroom was not clean. The tub/shower took ~ 20 minutes to drain...gross! NOT a great value overall for the high price!!! The hallways look dingy and dated.

Cons: This is probably unique to my visit but: - The gentleman who checked me in was incredibly rude. - There was used shampoo and soap still in the bathroom suggesting that it wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. - They were cutting trees right outside the rooms causing a lot of noise and dust during the day.

Cons: I am disabled but had to walk down 5 1/2 long weird hallways to get to my room. The setup is ridiculous. There were a few too many hairs in my shower. I found the mattress to be uncomfortable. Some staff was snooty and pushed guests through like a herd of cattle at check-in time.

Cons: Odd layout. Only one entrance, it was like 1/3 of a block in- which means you have to walk [on average] > 1/4 a block after entering lobby to get to one's room. Also i wish the website had mentioned the $50 a day for parking[we were in town for 24 hours.] This might have been the going rate for Fisherman's Wharf but this would've made the difference between this place and a place nearly $40-60 cheaper: longer walk to piers but saving $40-50/night is a big difference. Might not have been the hotel's fault maybe the booking site should've mentioned this, but still this is important information. Other complaint, probably more universal: really going to charge $14 to use hotel WiFi in one's room?! In 2015? First time rentimg hotel in San Francisco. Is this the norm? Free on lobby, though. Very not cool.

Cons: While checking into the hotel the lady got smart with me numerous times. When I asked about the noise level she gave me a smart reply. Parking was expensive! By the time they added on the hotel tax it was almost 60 bucks!
