Pros: We liked the location the most, right at the corner of Union square and a block away from Chinatown, the Hop on/Hop off bus had a few stops around Union square. The staff was always friendly, the fruit and water we received upon arrival and the turn down service every night are also nice touches. Housekeeping was attentive.
Cons: Upon arrival our room didn't smell really fresh, but couldn't say it was dirty. The windows can be opened however, so you can let fresh air in. The closet space is really small, but we didn't mind taking the clothes out of our suitcases. We thought the room was quite small, but maybe that was because we just came from a hotel suite in Vegas. You could also hear all the street noise (windows closed) and the neighbours easily, it seems the walls are thin. When housekeeping knocked on the door of the room next to us, it sounded like they knocked on our door.

Cons: In-room dining is awful. I had breakfast twice, and was severely disappointed at the outrageous price for the poor, poor quality of every aspect of the food--coffee is burnt and thick like mud, toast burnt, side vegetables unbelievably expensive with NO quality. The fresh orange juice is good. And that's it.
Otherwise, the hotel is just wonderful.

Cons: At Reservation, called the 800 number. I was told they only had two suites available. No rooms. Two minutes later, I went on Kayak and booked two rooms with no issue.

Pros: We stayed in an Imperial Club Room which was like a suite and means I would expect the comfort and luxury we got for the price we paid. My reviews are totally based on this and obviously if you stayed in a normal room you will have a different experience. Extra things are included when you pay for an Imperial Club Room. We also requested a quiet room if possible so were high up and had no issues with noise (this was based on previous reviews where people had issues with noise).

The food was abismal, it was so bad that after one bite of our room service we got rid of it. We expected to be asked about the food, but unfortunately the staff didn’t seem to notice two full meals being essentially untouched.

Cons: Overall the staff could have been more customer friendly. The seating process for Thanksgiving dinner was very disorganized although we made reservations several days before. The Anzu staff had difficultly accommodating the number of diners. It was extremely noisy. Club Lounge should vary the appetizers instead of the same each night.

I drove to SFO from LAX - on arrival bell hop service was excellent, didn't miss any bags or jackets that were in my car.

Cons: The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. I had to abandon them halfway through the night and just sleep without. I also noticed a lack of the sort of amenities one might expect in a luxury hotel of this caliber—no bathrobes, WiFi was an extra charge, etc. Hard not to feel a little nickel-and-dimed which didn’t seem in keeping with the luxury atmosphere.

Cons: VERY expensive parking. The hotel contracts with a parking service and valet is the only option. Prepare to spend over $70 a night to park at the hotel, but this is the only option unless you want to walk miles and miles.

Cons: The main building although grand, is a little dated. The refurbished rooms are good, but the particular room I was in the door didn't fully open because the wall gets in the way, so for room service the trolley couldn't be wheeled in, food had to be carried in from the door, and there wasn't really any table to put the food on, only the writing desk or the fold out mini bar.

I ate most of my meals at the hotel, breakfast lunch and dinner- and I had three different bartender/servers during my stay that were all so very pleasant. Some even gave me directions to buy a hoodie at a nearby store because I didn't realize it would be colder there this time of year still.
And the chef made me an awesome salad when I wanted to exchange tuna for chicken on the salad that comes with Lemon Dressing- it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this substitution as the combination of greens and dressing go amazing with Tuna! It will cost you 2 dollars more as Tuna is more expensive (rightfully so) but it I ate the entire thing. I couldn't stop myself.

Pros: We've stayed at the NYC Marquis Times Square so we figured we would get the same experience at the San Fran location But not the case at all... the gentleman that assisted us with check in wasn't pleasant. We weren't to happy about the double bed room or the tub that stopped up. Moving forward we know every Marquis isn't the same except for the parking rate, it's $75 no matter what location.

Very accessible to all the great restaurants and activities around the area.

She booked a room at this hotel for the following week and got a rate $110.00 cheaper than mine, higher floor and better view, so I was a little bummed about that.

Cons: All of the addtional fees for parking and "resort fees". Granted we got a deal on the cost of the room, so we're not complaining too much but the actual cost of the rooms are very expensive and then to add over $150 of addtional fees when checking out is a little crazy.
But, overall, we would be willing to stay here in the future, if we make it to the west coast again.

Cons: Our room wasn't cleaned very well. There was hair on the walls in the bathroom. A dog biscuit on the floor and the carpets were dingy and needed a deep cleaning. While it was a nice hotel it was very expensive for the accommodations you received.

Housekeeping was bad -- there was a half full highball glass in the hallway outside our room for our entire stay. The price is great for the quality of our stay, especially giving the going rates on much of the city.
Cons: The floor of the bathtub was slippery, so I had to be very mindful when showering.
There is however a short rail / bar along the shower wall that came in handy when stepping into the bathtub.
Like many buildings in SF, it's an old building and the walls are a bit thin. You occasionally hear sounds through the walls (i.e. steps, hallway chatter, clunks of objects moving through the hallways), but nothing out of the ordinary.

Our balcony was waterfront and faced the fisherman's wharf as well as had a direct view of Alcatraz. The room was very clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful as well as provided us with coupons for restaurants and activities. We really enjoyed the location and our entire stay at Hotel Zephyr.

Cons: The food choices at the hotel. The camper is touted as having food that is locally sourced and fresh, but when we looked at the menu, the only choices were personal pizzas and one soup. We got the pizzas and we're not impressed.

And the idiots flooring their cars at 1 a.m. with modified mufflers. I suggest certainly staying at this hotel, but ask for an inside room.

Cons: There really weren't hardly any complains about hotel Zephyr minus a few small ammenities. We would've liked to have had a microwave in our room but it wasn't really an inconvenience anyhow. The gym was a little small and could've used some more equipment but again, wasn't a big inconvenience at all.

Cons: I wish I didn't upgrade my room. Not sure what my original room would have been like, but the only thing I liked about the room I upgraded to was seeing the bay. But there was black hair on the bathroom hair which I assume was from the maids or people who stayed before me. There were two things left behind from the people before, so it made me question how clean the room really was. I didn't sleep well because of where the room was located. I could hear the outside door to the stairwell open and slam shut. A group of people tried getting into my room because the front desk gave them the wrong room number. Overall I was disappointed and if I knew it would have been this way I could have saved myself some money.

Cons: The rooms are small, which I expected from an old building. The mattresses are awful (truly, truly awful), which I din't expect and the price is high for low amenities and low quality. Also, the valet parking is $60/day. When we checked out, they asked how our stay was and I told them the mattresses were really uncomfortable and they just sort of ignored that. They probably hear it all the time. I won't stay there again.

Cons: Five minutes upon entering our room , there was another couple who entered. Apparently , the front desk assigned the same room and key card to different guests. After 15 minutes a guard came , checked the situation and assured me that everything was taken cared off.
We went out to have dinner but when we came back we couldn't enter our room . I checked with the front desk and said the key card was de activated. We were never informed of such

I guess anyone can also work at this Hilton. Will never book a room here again. Could of got a better quality room at holiday inn.

The air condition smelled like mildew and gave me a headache the following day. My roommate kept coughing the whole night which we suspect was due to the mildew coming out of the A/C vent.
Bathroom floor was not cleaned. Found gross hair (and other too gross to mention) on the floor. Corners underneath the sink have dust balls. the bathroom toilet plastic seat was burned that it looked like you poured acid on it. I cannot believe they have not replaced it. The electric plug in the bathroom is not secured and about to fall off, the hair dryer would not turn on because of the faulty plug. (Again, really????)
So disappointing as when I think of Hilton, I think safe, clean and decent...not the SF union square.
Front desk was very unfriendly. No welcome or "enjoy your stay" greeting. He couldn't find our reservation. When I showed him the confirmation number, he gave me the look and said "oh that's hotel.com's"...whatever that meant. As if he was treating us 3rd class as we had not booked it directly with them. After a few minutes, he finally found our reservation. Again, very unpleasant.

Close proximity to Union Square / Cable Car and city shopping and ofcourse the easy access from SFO Airport via the BART. $10 return trip each was a steel. Hotel staff excellent. Pros: Clean, modern, good location 4-minute walk from Powell BART station, some good restaurants and shopping.
Cons: Like many big-city hotels, the air inside is extremely dry, especially in the winter. Can't open windows. Makes sleep especially difficult. Very difficult to control temperature in the room, which gets hot at night, but turning the heat down turns on very noisy, I mean LOUD, air conditioning.

Pros: I LOVE that Parc 55 is pet friendly! We brought along our German Shepherd and they were more than welcoming. The hotel was the PERFECT location for Pride. We were feet away from the parade route and also were able to see the parade from our room. The pool was “amazing” (to quote my 13yo son). Parc 55 made this weekend a perfect weekend getaway for my son, pup, and I.

Pros: Great location! Clean and modern room. Mattress was comfortable and the view was great! The elevators were very efficient too.
Cons: The "hot" breakfast bar that was included was just pastries, fruit, heat n' serve cups of oatmeal, yogart, coffee and juice. When they said "hot" I think of eggs, breakfast meats and toast or pancakes. They should not reference their breakfast bar as a "hot" breakfast bar.
The staff gave us the wrong directions a few times, just save your breath and time and just google it!

Pros: We loved the 23rd floor and the view from our room. We could see the parade and crowds from above instead of joining in on the giants parade. We also felt the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet with relatively little street noise.
Cons: We were not happy with the additional 120.00 U.S. added to our bill. According to Booking.com, we were quoted 798.00 for the 4 nights. On our print out, it stated "total costs" 798.00. Nowhere did it state that there would be an additional 120 added. We would never use your website again.

Cons: This was the loudest hotel room that I have ever stayed in. Pedestrian and vehicle traffic outside was so loud in the room that I felt like I was sleeping in the middle of an intersection. This noise lasted until 10-11 pm every night and started up again at 430 every morning. Every step by the people staying in the room above sounded like an elephant stomping around, and they stayed active until 2 am some nights.
