Pros:
Cons: The valet location is different than the street address causing much time wasted trying to find where to enter.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, great service. The access to Equinox is fabulous! Prime, prime location--the best!!
Cons: In-room dining is awful. I had breakfast twice, and was severely disappointed at the outrageous price for the poor, poor quality of every aspect of the food--coffee is burnt and thick like mud, toast burnt, side vegetables unbelievably expensive with NO quality. The fresh orange juice is good. And that's it.
Otherwise, the hotel is just wonderful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms. Polite staff. Nice bathrooms. Everything worked without an issue.
Cons: At Reservation, called the 800 number. I was told they only had two suites available. No rooms. Two minutes later, I went on Kayak and booked two rooms with no issue.
Service was in no way exceptional. It was a little irritating that bell desk couldn't get cab.
Food/bar is terrible
Surcharge for internet access is ludicrous

8.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was lovely - quality furnishings, sufficient space, nice view.
Cons: I was very surprised to be charged an extra $35 for "facilities fee", including taxes. This is not a resort so I don't understand why it would charge a high "facilities fee".

Pros:
Cons: No bells and whistles. This was much more like your standard, mid-grade Marriott than a 4-star experience. No fluffy robes, slippers, turn-down service, etc.
5.0 Okay
Pros:
Cons: There was nearly $35 in hotel fees that I wasnt aware of when I booked the room. It came as a surprise when I checked out the next morning. Apparently it was for coffee and pastry in the lobby and WiFi. I didnt want either. Waste of money.

Pros: Pros: Location Staff is wonderful Rooms are large and comfortable for San Francisco
Cons: Cons: The Bistro is awful, did not try the restaurant Weird position for shower activation, have to actually be in the shower to turn it on........BRRR. The closet is about 12" wide, so this is not the place to stay for a long time
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great!
Cons: Understand being charged for internet and coffee/muffins, but if breakfast runs until 9:30 then there should be coffee and muffins available at 9:15. I let the front desk know and waited 15 minutes to no avail.

Pros: Room was very clean, and staff was very nice.
Cons: I think the prices for the property are way out of line; ridiculously high. While the hotel is lovely, San Francisco does not have a reputation any more for an attractive city. the city is seedy, and most advise against walking around the neighbourhood. Prices this high would be more appropriate in a location where you can enjoy the location.

Pros:
Cons: Old building so facilities in general were not up to par versus other newer and cheaper hotels. Toilet was small. Way overpriced for what the stay was worth. Had stayed in better hotels for half the cost. Most disappointing was the poor communication between the hotel and booking.com. Had queries regarding the prepayment and tried to reach out prior to my arrival. Hotel was not able to advise even though they already did the prepayment. Was a pain trying to reach booking.com, tried to reach out via various methods but never received a response. Now the hotel apparently said that we were no shows, after we stayed there and were charged in full.

Pros: Beautiful classic building, and great bed.
Cons: I have a great suite on the 7th floor, but the windows look at the back of the building cornice, so no view at all, and no body explained it to me at the check-in.

Cons: Fairmont charged extra for everything, including gym and WiFi, which is now free and standard in almost all lower priced and comparable hotels. It is really disappointing that such a high end hotel does not provide these service for free.

Pros: It's history and location made it our runaway first choice. It lived up to its 5 star reputation starting with check in.
Cons: It's an old building; you come up steps to get to the front door. A modern building would have a ramp. But, a ramp would ruin the looks. So you put up with a cumber some handling of your luggage.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Location was going to be great but didn’t actually get to stay.
Cons: Booked through Kayak and the day before they stay received an email that the hotel had overbooked and was canceling my reservation. Luckily I was able to find an excellent hotel a block away at a reasonable price. Not sure if I would try to book through Kayak again.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff great location

Pros: Perfect except I needed my lovely wife with me to make it just right and heavenly
Cons: Only my wife would have made it better
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No room service. They charged me $44.46 after checking out. Read the fine print( they will change a facilities fee which they dont even tell you on reservation.
6.0 Good
Pros: The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom fan was running the entire time and there was no way to turn it off. Also, the bathroom was really small. There was also no electricity for the nightstands, so no light and no clock.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The hotel was dirty and it smelled bad. I'm so mad that I spent my bears here.
Cons:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eggs fluffy beds perfect
Cons: Seemed too short seemed like I was hardly there at all

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to things we were interested in. Quick check in and out. Nice views.
Cons: Ridiculously expensive valet parking (more than $70 per night). Super small bathrooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: 1- wide beds. 2- clean furniture. 3- delicious breakfast. 4- there is starbucks in front of the hotel and the westfield shopping center near to the hotel and “target” supermarket. 5- the employees are very nice with us. 6- the hotel is safe where no one can reach the upstairs without having a room card. 7- there is a small shop in hotel lobby where you can buy soft drinks, water, chocolate, medical plasters, and gifts of san francisco city.
Cons: the homeless are waiting outside the hotel doors after 10 o’clock. So it is better to use cars .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: i have stayed at this property on multiple occasions. It is a reliable choice in a good location. The rooms are comfortable. The free internet works well.
Cons: No fridge in room. Noise air conditioning. Expensive for what you get - resort fee?
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and great service. I especially liked the text message about how they could best help--made it quick and easy to ask for things like restaurant recommendations without feeling like I was bothering the front desk.
Cons: I wish there had been a microwave and mini fridge in the hotel but otherwise everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and modern
Cons: Parking was a lot of money

Pros: Very clean! Beautiful lobby and rooms.
Cons:
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly and the hotel was centrally located.
Cons: This was my second time staying at the Hotel Spero while I was in town for a work event, though my experience this time may cause me to reconsider staying here going forward. The last time I stayed at the hotel I shared a room with a co-worker which included 2 full beds, this time i was staying alone so opted for the single king. When I first entered the room I was a bit shocked at the small size of the room, one king bed with a very large flat screen tv and a small chair and side table - definitely glad I was staying solo - but overall the room was clean and would work just fine for one night of travel. That night I started experiencing some issues. The walls of the room were paper thin (maybe this is why they hand you a welcome package that consists of 2 small water bottles and ear plugs). I could hear everything that was going on on the floor above me and outside my door. This was amplified by the fact that my door was only 4 feet away from the entrance to the room. Throughout the night and next morning wifi kept going in and on on both my Android phone and my MacBook laptop. When I contacted the front desk about the issue they said that there had been some issues, but that technical support had assured her the issue was resolved. When I told her I still couldn’t connect (after restarting my devices and and resetting my wifi) she abruptly apologized and said she would connect me to technical support. I was on the line with a technical support representative for 30 minutes - I was confused as to why I had to contact them myself only to be told later that there was nothing they could do because the signal was down. All in all this boutique hotel does have the pearks of being centrally located and relatively well priced, however I would encourage others who are in town for work purposes to rethink staying here, as the issues with noise and wifi definitely put me behind schedule for the day :disappointed:

Pros: Hotel was on the smaller side, boutique style so it was easy to get to our room. There is a restaurant right at the lobby level called Jaspers with great food and reasonable prices. Staff was friendly, very imformative and ready to help.
Cons: Roms were a little on the small side. No where to put your suitcase to unpack. Tried taking pictures out the window of the view but the windows were quite dirty. Also, location even though it is 2 blocks from Union Square there are many homeless around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, location
Cons: Needs a wine bar.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was really friendly
Cons: The tenderloin district is a difficult place to stay due to the homelessness and mental illness which gives the neighborhood its gritty vibe. Locals dont seem to mind it.
7.0 Good
Pros: My room was the best part of this hotel!
Cons: The restaurant in the lobby is really not up to standards for this hotel! Service was terrible and it looked unkept. -Halloween decorations in the lobby were awful -At 9pm, some rooms were still being cleaned by housekeeping and they were not ready.
7.5 Good
Pros: Cool and quirky
Cons: Noisy aircon
5.4 Okay
Pros: Loved the friendliness of the valets. They were very helpful and welcoming. The room was tastefully appointed and very clean.
Cons: Hotel wouldn’t match online rates at the desk, and their rates were significantly higher per night than the major online booking sites. The add on costs were ridiculously high. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room (although this was provided in the foyer between 6am and 10am; apparently this is what the add on fees pay for). The rooms were advertised as suitable for families, but are very, very small and not enough towels for everyone. There is nowhere to stow large pieces of luggage for people who have been travelling.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location, updates, staff
Cons: I have stayed here several times. This is the first time i was assigned 2 double beds instead of a king (preferred) and i found a dirty plastic glass and some garbage under the bureau and beside the night table.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and great location.....the hotel has a restaurant and the breakfast was amazing
Cons: The beds were not that comfortable

Cons: Terrible area, very unpleasant to go outside. The staff was not vey welcoming or friendly but generally efficient. Fitness center is small. No breakfast. Pros: Location was central to where we wanted to be in SF. Check in staff was friendly and efficient. Room was modern but on the smaller side.
Cons: Pool was closed for renovations. Nice that guests could use the pool at Hotel Nikko but who is going to the trouble of going 2 blocks outside to another hotel's pool? Window to outside was filthy. Room could have had king-sized pillows and bathrobes.
6.0 Good
Pros:
Cons: The parking garage is way too small!!! Horrible And the location isn’t great. Lesson learned.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location close to everything but, was quite sketchy at night. Also, I have stayed in $100 rooms that were better, and in a better location.
Cons: RIP OFF!!! Was told that we were getting an upgrade to a junior suite, turned out it was NOT a junior suite when I confronted a manger about it. They offered no refund of the $-- which was already a $--- room, which it was without a doubt not wort
6.0 Good
Pros: The weather was good
Cons: This particular Hilton offers less services for Honors. Hot breakfast cost on top of the continental.. I had a junior suite - a very large empty room with a dormitory style studio bathroom. Be sure to compare to other Hiltons in the area.

Pros: There was nothing to really like.
Cons: The customer service up front was horrible. The woman who checked me in wasn’t friendly or welcoming. I wish I would’ve canceled my room right then and there. Parking was outrageous price. The room was so mediocre for it being “Hilton
4.2 Okay
Pros:
Cons: We stayed in a delux king room but it was extremely small compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in. Very cramped between the entrance, closet and bathroom doors. We kept bumping into the bathroom doors. Extremely tight. There was no vanity mirror in the room and the bathroom was, again, extremely small which made it uncomfortably difficult to do my hair and makeup. No complimentary water was offered. Staff were rude. Limited lighting in the room. Overall the stay was a disappointment and I would NOT consider staying here again.

Pros: The property is located in Union Square and it’s located close to lots of great places to visit!! It’s very clean, beds are comfortable and the attached restaurant is delicious!!! This is a great find and the price can’t be beat!!
Cons: They can improve the pillows
6.0 Good
Pros: Restaurant, all staff and proximity to Union Square. Bed was great. Nice towels and robes
Cons: Cocktail glass had lipstick on it, so I rewashed all the glasses. Homeless population near hotel garage area. Also I stayed in the back area and there is no elevator for 2 flights of stairs. Had to carry bags up and down stairs

Pros: The Daily Grill was attached to the hotel

Pros: Location, location, location at a decent price. Room was cozy with sufficient space. Staff were courteous and attentive. Beautiful pool in the middle of the city. Lots of windows to let the fresh air in and get a feel of the weather outside.
Cons: Bed was a little too soft for my comfort. Views from windows not impressive.

Pros: Clean , close to shopping, at and restaurant connected
Cons: No valet parking

Cons:
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was outstanding. Area itself is great with easy transit access to anywhere in SF. A comfortable room with nice ammenities... fridge, robes, coffee, morning paper.
Cons: For this level of hotel, it could use a bathroom update. And hallway noise was noticeable (mostly late night, weekend guests). There are several additional daily fees...Tourism District, Mascone Expansion,CA Tourism Assessment.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was Spacious and the hotel was in a great location.
Cons:
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of San Fransisco. The room was clean and had all the facilities listed in the description.
Cons: The description is booking.com mentioned "parking" as an option but I didn't realize it is paid. I had to pay a very high amount for parking for the first night, and then I decided to move the car to a cheaper parking location nearby for the next two days. The checkout experience was also not good. I met a front desk staff member in advance and she agreed to provide me a late check-out at 12noon, however on the day of checking-out the same staff member said there was no prior agreement and I need to check-out at-least by 11.30am which was an unpleasant experience.

Pros: Friendly staff, we were able to check in early, and we got a beautiful corner room with windows all around.
Cons: Even on the 7th floor there was a lot of outside noise. There was also noise from the room beside us. You'll have that in a hotel and if it got any worse I could have called the front desk to ask the neighbors to quiet down.
7.0 Good
Pros: Central location Breakfast Large TV Large room
Cons: Homeless people close to hotel, but it's a general problem in SF. I was a solo female returning from concert one night around 11PM and didn't feel scared going from metro station to the hotel (I didn't bring my purse or anything valuable though). I liked that hotel has a check during night hours so you have to show your room card in order to enter the hotel. It would be even better if you couldn't enter the elevator without your room key. Noise - windows provide no isolation, corner rooms seem to be worse since they are completely covered in windows. Fridge is also noisy, so I unplugged it. I had to sleep with earplugs anyway due to street noise. Heating - very cold room, as soon as you turn off the heater, room gets cold in matter of minutes. I had to keep the heater on almost entire time including entire night (it's the one which pushes warm air in the room so the air was quite dry during my entire stay). I did try the other heating type in two different hotels before but radiators were loud and couldn't even heat up the room, so it seems like this type of heating is still better but I hope I don't have to stay in SF during winter days in the future.
5.8 Okay
Pros:
Cons: The room was not clean. I had to clean the bathroom before I could use it.

I felt really safe within the hotel, though, and the staff were excellent! We also had an amazing view. Would stay again.
Cons: If i were to be really picky, the hotel is definitely a little dated, but I thought it was still plenty clean and comfortable. It looked nicer in person than it did in the pictures.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location!
Cons: Should have a better restaurant service. Breakfast choices were only buffet. Not acceptable.
