Pros: My favorite thing was the well thought out layout of the room. It had more storage space than any room I,ve ever stayed in. Closets with drawers, shelves and cubby holes. Some places to put things in the bathroom too! Good shower, very comfortable bed and linens. Wifi worked well. All that and a little balcony with view of the Sagrada. Staff was helpful and efficient when we sought their help. Do think they should always greet guests, though, when guests return to hotel. That usually didnt happen. Check in and out were very smooth.

Location is great, walking distance to everything but in a more upscale area so out of the chaos of La Rambla.

Pros: We liked the whole hotel from top to bottom, there is literally a museum on one floor! The hotel layout is so cool, the room we stayed in was absolutely perfect! It's just two floors of sublime innovation and creativity! We will definitely be staying again when I come to visit Barcelona again. Oh and to top it off the staff went above and beyond for us, everyone was so kind and thoughtful! The coffee is absolutely divine too.

Cons: The decor was a bit weird. The bathtub/shower sill was far too high and was dangerous (we were traveling with an architect and we are convinced that this height does not meet code). In addition, the gym was very poor. They only had a few machines and 2 of them were broken.

The window of the room woudnt close and we was facing the street so basically no sleep absolutely awful very noisey, im 100% sure i paid more for breakfast but when i got there got asked to pay €20 per person per night for breakfast, round the corner hotel does breakfast for €5.

Location of the hotel is right in the heart of barcelona and christmas decor gave the place a very festive feel as we stayed here in december. The bed was very big and comfortable. The walk in shower was also brilliant. In addition to this, our private terrace was a nice little touch as it was nice to sit outside with a coffee in the sun in the morning.

Pros: The hotel facilities are good and the staff were very nice. The location is perfect.
Cons: We had troubles getting the room temperature above 20 degrees and it was cold. And the room wasn't prepare one of the days when we came back after several hours. Not a big deal but in a hotel like this, it was a little dissapointing.

Pros: Location was Excellent. Front Desk - especially Victor - was professional and courteous. Got very lucky with the pricing on this room - absolute beyond expected value.
Cons: The WIFI connection in the room (601) was problematic. This should not happen in ANY room in ANY 4* hotel - ever. It only worked properly for a few hours in the morning - never worked in the evening. After several calls to the front desk followed by a discussion with the Technical Help it was determined that the reason for this was the signal was too weak and far from the room. To make up for this issue Victor from the Front Desk arranged to upgrade to the Junior Suite on my last night. Which was AWESOME - the Jacuzzi Bath (& the working perfectly Internet) made up for the frustration of the first 3 nights. Although this was resolved - it should be pointed out to anyone who requires an internet connection during their stay should be certain that their room isn't too far from the signal.

Cons: The only problem we had is that in the morning the housekeepers during the cleaning of other rooms are super noisy and talk very loud in the corridor and won’t let you sleep after 8 am. They really don’t care you are sleeping the way they are taking just outside of your door. Great hotel otherwise and fantastic location!

Cons: The internet was a terrible and VERY expensive. Maid refused to deliver coffee 7 of the 10 days as required. Concierge cost us two days & admission from bad directions & the wrong tickets. Food was poor. Parking was EXPENSIVE. Room was hot and wet.

Cons: Everything tries to have a super trendy vibe that just doesn't seem realistic. Too much loud music and emphasis on parties that seem over blown. The pricing for everything is easily twice any other place that we visited in Barcelona, and there just isn't a reason for it beyond the hotel just charging more because they can. Its very far away from anything else.

The moment I checked in, Alicia at reception was extremely friendly and noted my upcoming birthday. When I returned from sightseeing on my birthday I found a Gaudi tile cake and a bottle of Cava in ice in my room! Great personal touch and amazing service! Alicia is the absolute best!!!!

There were many straight couples, guess they did not know they arrived in a gay hotel. looks like too many straights for the gay community, to many gays for the straight guests. I am gay but this time the mix was not good. Check in lasted forever, they write you a guest pass by hand, it takes forever... worst check in in my life. Hotel was not able to provide service to print out my online boarding pass.. what a shame. I did not feel anything of the original gay concept, I felt they just sold out the hotel to anybody just to make money ( whats ok), but this was not my axel hotel from some years ago. It was just a very busy hotel and not sure if the value for the hotel was very good this time. Just my opinion.

Cons: Once again the price per night was significantly higher (excluding tourist tax) than the one during the search in booking.com. Not a good service. The room was quite cold and when calling the reception the answer was simply: is not possible to change the temperature, they didn´t provide a solution or cared enough to try. We were also trying to use the spa area (which costs extra) and the lady at the counter tried to discourage us to use it, because "it was too full" (8 people inside an huge area with a jacuzzi, a pool, a steam room and a sauna. In addition, the hotel has very thin walls, very loud to have a good sleep.

Pros: The spa was decent
Cons: The room was garbage. We booked one of their more expensive family "suites." It was a large room with an opaque glass panel that halfway divided it. There were scratches on the floors, blank spaces on the walls where there used to be furniture, a dated pleather sofa. It looked nothing like the pictures. They brought us a broken crib to begin with and asked me to help them try to jerry rig it, and I said that would be pointless because I was not going to let my child sleep in a crib with a broken support bar. I later realized they gave us a room that on booking costs less than half the price of what we booked, and they are not giving us any money back. Also, the office center in this hotel is an old computer with coin slots so you can pay for use. The hotel is located in a sort of no-man's-land surrounded by closed factories and vacant lots. I tried to give the lowest marks possible for comfort, value, and location, but booking doesn't allow that. I wouldn't even give this place 2 stars based on our experience. We left three days early.

Almost everything we wanted to do such as tourist attractions, the sea front, night life, restaurants were all at a short walking distance. It was such a reasonable price for three nights! Before arrival I was regretful I hadn't splashed out for more than the economy room but upon arrival our room was lovely with big windows! The bathroom and shower were nice and sleek and everything felt very clean! We also asked a member of staff for recommendations on night life and he was so helpful and gave us some great spots (thanks Javier!)

Cons: Had to wait to check in for one hour as system had been down for four days--everything was being done manually. Room key didn't work after two attempts. Security was called to get us in the room. Turned out that room was already occupied.

Cons: The hotel is on a major busy road with a lot of noise. The seal on the window was broken so it felt as though we had the window open for our stay. Staff and maintenance looked at the window and confirmed the issue but told us there was nothing they could do to help us. The metro runs directly under the building causing it to rumble. The bed was hard and uncomfortable.

Cons: Only slight downside was our double bed was actually two single beds pushed together (separate mattresses and sheets, etc). I only booked a double room though and I can't recall if it specified two singles or a double bed so could have been an oversight on my part. Regardless the bed was comfortable and it didn't pose too much of an issue.
