10.0 Excellent
Pros: I absolutely adored the place! One can feel the love and consideration the hosts have for the place. There is a lot on offer for the guests like bikes, canoe, walking sticks, etc. (free of charge) to discover the bay and the Queen-Charlotte track, which starts just outside the garden. One can spend easily several days at this place without getting bored. The gardens are really nice as well, with a lot of corners for privacy. There are not many quest rooms, which means one is surrounded by few people. No crowd in the kitchen nor the bath room. I can absolutely recommend this place, because it is peaceful and the nature around is so stunningly beautiful. (I was lucky, I had only sunny days) ;-)
Cons: I have nothing to report, the place was just perfect for me! The only disadvantage, it will not be easy for me to visit again, NZ is a long way from Europe. ;-)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived at this beautiful hotel late in the evening, and were greeted by the incredibly charming Elisabeth. We were offered a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite, which was absolutely stunning! We were so impressed when we walked into the suite and saw how beautifully the room was decorated, with ambient lighting (and dimmers) that added to the charm. The tub in the bathroom was gorgeous, and salts were offered for a nice soak. The room was very clean and immaculately decorated. The restaurant was amazing, and offered such delicious wines. The staff were all so welcoming and hospitable, especially Elisabeth and the waitress working inside the restaurant (we regret not asking for her name). We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed there again on our way back up the coast, and of course dined at the restaurant again. We were offered a complimentary upgrade again which we were so grateful for, and we were treated like old friends by the staff who remembered us. They even gave us soy milk as they noticed we had left a jug of soy milk in the room, and the waitress remembered exactly which wines we had during our previous visit. Huge thank you to the wonderful team at Escape to Picton! We will definitely be back if we are in the area.
Cons: A small fridge in the room would be a nice addition, though we were definitely fine without it!

Pros: Great host, quiet, peaceful, comfortable and clean location. Use of the hot tub and kayaks made it totally worth it.
Cons: There basically wasn't anything that we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the accommodation with large terrace and kitchen facilities were all excellent. We were also able to organise with our hosts a boat trip, with extra cost along the Queen Charlotte Sound to Mistletoe Bay, which was a highlight of our stay. The lodge also has 2 kayaks available to quests for free and a double kayak for a small charge.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: No view of the Sounds

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, beautiful view of the harbour from my room, lovely staff, an excellent lamb shank meal, easy walking distance from ferry and to railway station, comfortable bed, excellent WiFi.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, comfortable large beds, modern bathrooms, heaters in room, breakfast included
Cons: The hotel hallways were tired looking- needed new carpet or flooring. Lift not near foyer- had to either carry bags up 8 stairs or wheel them down outside to lift entrance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything except the deposit i had to pay, but i was told i will get it back once i check out. But didnt recieved it.
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the location the room was clean and tidy and what the photos looked like.
Cons: The check in experience was too long.
6.3 Good
Cons: I asked to add another person to my booking a month earlier. I was told this was able to be done. I wasn't told it would mean a second room and at opposite ends of the hotel. For the price I ended up paying I could have had us all in a 2 room apartment elsewhere. Your establishment is very dated. Has potential to be better but needs work.
7.1 Good
Cons: no bar... ordered room service food was cold...
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Room was not sound proof from noise of other guests and a corridoor door slammed shut regularly through the night. View from the room would have been much better had the large windows been clean. After many years of travelling, this was the first accommadation where a damage deposit was collected at checkin and refunded on departure only after a staff member went to the room to check for damage.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large, spacious room. Comfortable bed. Clean. Nice view up the sounds and awesome location.
Cons: Our room was not serviced so we had to reuse dirty coffee cups and glasses. We had brought things to make our own breakfast but the fridge in our room froze everything solid.
6.5 Good
Pros: Paid for breakfast but told it was not buffet.
Cons: Breakfast
4.3 Okay
Pros: Very disappointed in our room Broken basin, just not up to Mecure standard. Know they have better rooms as have stayed before.
Cons: The room.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location...is was close to everything
Cons: We did not get told or agree to $50.00 being taken from our bank account (we have still not received that money back yet). We were not happy with this and think that we should have been informed, we recommend definitely telling your reception staff to inform customers of this as it put a dampener on our experience at your hotel. However we do understand that money needs to be held for incidentals, but think there should be a clearer understanding.
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff were considerate and thoughtful, giving us a free complementary up upgrade. The film channel was also good. I liked not having to walk through the hotel to leave or arrive - we were able to come and go as we pleased.
Cons: Not applicable
6.0 Good
Pros: How close it is to the shops and other venues that we needed to get to.
Cons: The sound of the metal stair access outside is a bit noisy. The balcony sliding door didn't have a lock.
6.7 Good
Pros: Hotel Restaurant offers magnificent food.
Cons: The lift is only available 5 stairs down which is uncomfortable, and is at the bottom of the passage far from the Reception. A room with a bath is something which I missed.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location and cheap room rate. Room was clean and staff were good.
Cons: The hotel definitely needs the upgrade its getting. Last night I couldnt get back in the main door, luckily the side door was open.I would recommend the hotel after the upgrade.
6.6 Good
Pros: i liked the convenience of location, new decor room 313, minor incident handled professionally by staff. able to leave bag for short time after check-out instead of dragging it around picton shops whilst waiting for the return train.
Cons: having to get on my hands and knees on the floor and plug the kettle in whilst leaving the kettle sitting on the new carpet as the power outlet behind the bar fridge was unaccessable and the cord too short.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Proximity to town and ease to find.
Cons: At no time were we notified of the on-going Construction/Rennovation to the Hotel until we were unpacked in room. Room was cold (not prepared for guests), noisey rubbish truck outside. Upon inspection, noted it was a crane withing 30 metres from the room working on the property - after putting up with it for 20 minutes we enquired from Reception with regard to when it would stop. Told at 7.00 pm restarting at 8.00 am in morning. Raining heavily when arrived were unable to really look at exterior or be aware of the noise levels. Unfortunately no compensation of any sort was suggested and the Jack Hammer starting at 7.45 am the follwing morning was the end. Not good value for money at all!!!!!
5.6 Okay
Pros: I arrived late,so I felt a bit out and there was no bar open so I went to bed 10pm
Cons: No cooked breakfast and the continental was meager and overpriced
6.0 Good
Pros: The round bed
Cons: No information about breakfast in the hotel info. No cooked breakfast available.
