Pros: The hotel was close to two "Halal Restaurants" 5 Euro to reach them, one is called "Abou Khalil" C/Santalo, 88, Barcelona a Lebanese one owned by a Palestinian guy. and the other one is called "Al-Jaima" C/Valencia, 218,Barcelona owned by his brother. The internet was great as well. We arrived early and the receptionist helped us to put the luggage in the store.

The internet was great as well. We arrived early and the receptionist helped us to put the luggage in the store.
Cons: The room needs to be isolated well so we do not hear the wind when blowing. There was no Bidet at the bathroom, I would appreciate if they could add it.

Cons: The decor was a bit weird. The bathtub/shower sill was far too high and was dangerous (we were traveling with an architect and we are convinced that this height does not meet code). In addition, the gym was very poor. They only had a few machines and 2 of them were broken.

Cons: This hotel is far from to be 5 star. The bed in the double room is very narrow and is about 1.40 m ! Thus, two adults sleeping on it risk to fall down at night. The other furniture of the room, which needs to be repaired would be more suitable for a 3 star hotel room. The personnel at the desk with poor english could explain to us how to connect to the hotel WiFi and offered us free bussiness room: two old time snail speed desktops with a queque beside the door. There is also a problem to take a cup of coffee till noon - the only suggestion is to take breakfast twice.

Pros: The Hotel is very cool from a design point. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The pool area is great but don't expect prompt service if you want a drink.
Cons: It felt a little like the hotel was running on the bare minimum, almost like the middle of winter at a tropical resort. The level of facilities at the hotel are very basic. For an upmarket "designer" Hotel they offer very little in room facilities and what they do provide are not worth much. Room service only runs till 21:30 and the food is well below average and not worth eating. Unless Breakfast is included then don't bother. It is 4 euros more expensive than another of the Chains hotels down the road and not as good. The Lounge Room was not open when it was advertised. This is supposed to be the hotel Bar.

Cons: See through shower walls, so no privacy when sharing a room. Also, the Sky bar (the only bar in the hotel) was closed the whole time, except Tuesday afternoon. The pool hours could have been longer also.

There is a 24-hr 'pharmacy' w/in 1/2 a block, and the on-off tourist busses stop adjacent to Le Pedrera (red line).
Every person who worked at this hotel is absolutely wonderful. (Happily held our luggage until a room was ready, gave us access to their beautiful breakfast/lounge ((we declined breakfast as we wanted to start touring a sap but it was truly a 4-star spread, like a Ritz Carlton or similar class.) ROOFTOP BAR IS AMAZING - try a Martin Miller Gin Tonic (one of 8 different gin tonics offered), 360 degree view with glass "roof" will stun you), tapas list was great. ROOM was modern, blow your mind luxurious. Our 20' balcony faced the street (rm 901 has floor to ceiling glass with a huge balcony and electric blinds... The wall above our king size bed was also glass, all the way to the ceiling creating a 6x8' glass wall 'headboard' which also created a wall of glass above the tub in the bath room, letting the spectacular view and light flood into the entire bathroom, with a electric shade if you wanted to lower it....). I seldom photograph a room, but I tried this time because it was so spectacular. Great robes, slippers, nespresso machine, huge glass shower. We absolutely loved it - would love to move in forever.

Cons: I hated to have to leave and hope to go back for a longer stay. Note - this area is totally safe 24 hours a day and this would be a GREAT place for a woman travelling alone - this is a GREAT location. Entire staff, EVERY person, went out of their way to delight you.

The neighbourhood is very beautiful, good restaurants in the street as well as some amazing artwork in the street. The hotel room was very nice, even better than on the photos on the website. Beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable. We had a great view from our windows and the view from the 11th floor, where the swimming pool is, was amazing. Though the hotel isn´t very cheap it was worth every penny!

Cons: hotel should be mostly for gays. There were many straight couples, guess they did not know they arrived in a gay hotel. looks like too many straights for the gay community, to many gays for the straight guests. I am gay but this time the mix was not good. Check in lasted forever, they write you a guest pass by hand, it takes forever... worst check in in my life. Hotel was not able to provide service to print out my online boarding pass.. what a shame. I did not feel anything of the original gay concept, I felt they just sold out the hotel to anybody just to make money ( whats ok), but this was not my axel hotel from some years ago. It was just a very busy hotel and not sure if the value for the hotel was very good this time. Just my opinion.

Cons: Got a good rate online for a Premium Deluxe room. It was nothing special - not premium or deluxe by my standards - very basic. When we arrived, needed to use the toilet facilities - no toilet paper in the large one on the 1st floor - went to dining room to inquire for paper or another facility to use. Was given napkins for the restaurant to use.

Was charged in dollars at a rate of 5% higher than what I would have gotten on my credit card plus commission.Was asked to sign a cr card slip that said I was offered a choice of currencies chose dollars and my choice was final.

Cons: One of the reasons to chose it was the spa, but it cant be called a spa. 1 Sauna, 1 steam bath and teh pool and jakuzzi were not functional, some dirty stagnant water in the pool and we didn't use the spa after first trial. Also the minibar was nnot filled regularly and the room was not cleaned properly.

Cons: We stayed when it was a little cooler in the evenings. The bathroom design is open and therefore when you finish showering you get cold a little quicker than you would in a closed off shower area. However this is for such a short duration it should not deter you from this great hotel. I would without a doubt love to come back here!

Cons: We had a power outage on the first evening. As we came back from dinner 3 hours later, the hotel was still in the complete dark. Hopefully,our ultimate goal was to sleep immediately but I guess everyone staying at the hotel didn't have a great time.

The hotel bar offered free champagne, water, tea and coffee which was a wonderful and unexpected surprise. The staff assisted us in room upgrades, places to eat and what to see around the city. Wifi was included in every room as well as personal AC that worked extremely well. The room also had black out curtains and while being very centrally located ( a few blocks from the Gaudi House and a 2 minute walk to La Rambla) was also very quiet. I would deffinitely stay here again. Great place for couples or young friends looking to have a good time while still relaxing and getting some rest!

Pros: This hotel was a great surprise in terms of quality, price, location, and service. It's located on a great street for shopping and dining, and only blocks away from the airport bus shuttle.
John at reception was very kind and friendly, circled lots of things on the map of Barcelona for me to see, and recommended some restaurants. The free glass of sparkling wine was a nice touch as well.
The room was fantastic, with a beautiful soaking tub and comfortable bed, and a balcony that opened up onto Passeig de Gracia. It should be noted that this room is great for solo travelers or anyone who doesn't mind an open concept room. The shower and toilet have frosted glass doors, but the tub is open. It may not be private enough for some people, but I thought it was fine as I was solo.
The mini bar wasn't too expensive either, which can be hit or miss at many hotels, and had s great selection of snacks/beverages.
Overall this was a fantastic stay in Barcelona and the hotel made it that much better.

We were in the city in a perfect location, within walking distance of all the sites anyone would want to see in Barcelona. However, the hotel made us feel as though the city was ours. There was a feeling of exclusivity the hotel offered in it's design. More like our own private apartment. The staff was so friendly, that it gave the impression they were there just to make you happy. Many nice little touches in the hotel design that gave it a modern cool feel. Highly recommend.

Cons: The only negative to the hotel is completely out of their hands, but there is a new retail store being constructed below, so after 8 or 9 am, it can be a little loud. It looks like it's just starting, so it may go on for quite some time. This wouldn't stop me from stating again by any means, but if you party all night and want to sleep in, it could be tough.

Cons: My room was very strangely designed (ironically). More importantly, the showers were not cleaned well - the glass walls were covered in a thick layer of soap scum - not pretty!
Overall, it's listed as a 5 star hotel, and it's FAR from that. At best, it's a very good 3.5 star hotel, or a middle of the road 4 star.

Cons: The sitting room was missing one of two chairs. I know because the same room one floor higher we were reassigned to had both and a lamp. The showers have granite floor covers and they move and make horrific noises and in the case of our first room concealed bugs and debris that smelled and looked horrible until the water made the bugs obvious on the edges with the debris. Nightmare! They moved us but it left us wondering about the next room and hotel generally. The next room actually had a bed for two as we were confirmed for, proper amounts of chairs, lamps, etc. Did not feel like it deserved a 5 star rating for many reasons. Won’t go back
