Pros: the hotel is nice but a little pricey

Pros: This hotel just has it all. Great location - near everything, right next to heart of the city, Plaza de Catalunya, where shuttle from the airport stops, and near all the bus/subway stops you could need. Beautiful, modern interior; rooms are very cleverly arranged with space for everything. Superb daily cleaning, helpful and professional staff. Breakfasts very good with extra option of seating on outside terrace - very nice, having breakfasts on fresh air. We were beyond happy with our stay here, since absolutely nothing bothered us and we would definitely come here again.

Pros: The location is extremely good for the price – you walk out into the city center. There was a lot of effort put into making the hotel look interesting via some innovative decorative choices. All of the staff was happy and positive. The balconies were small but big enough for two.

Cons: It's hard to write about the disadvantages of this place, because the staff was so positive throughout and it was a huge plus, however there were many little downsides that added up to an imperfect experience. The quirky design choices are not all practical. The designy two-person table / chair construction was attached to the foot of the bed, making us hit its various jagged edges at night for a harsh wake-up call. The sink is inside the room, not in the bathroom, so only book this if you're comfortable doing all the usual sink stuff like trimming nose hair in front of your room-mate. There's also no way to wash your hands during the night without switching the light on in most of the room (there's no way to switch the light on in the bathroom only – the area with the sink is lit as well). A designy cupboard locked us out of the room for hours after housekeeping shut the door too hard and made it roll out and block access (the staff was apologetic, but we weren't compensated in any way for having to wait for 2 hours exhausted after a day of sightseeing in really hot weather). The pillows are so thick (about 30+ cm) that it may be hard to sleep on them for most, and there are no smaller pillows available (at least we asked and then waited to get one for 6 days and didn't see any). The breakfast always has the same stuff (though the quality is good), and not much thought was put into the vegetarian options (e.g. the scrambled eggs sometimes had bacon bits, and sometimes not; the same tongs are used for bacon and the Spanish omelettes, and I don't want bacon sauce on mine).

Pros: The location is just perfect. A step away from the Rambla and the Gothic quarter, 30min walking from the Sagrada familla, 5 min away from Place de la Catalunya. The room (junior suite) was roomy, nicely decorated with a modern style. Nice use of wood on the floor to make it more cozy. It was a bit pricey for the overall service offered (keep reading)

Cons: Apart from the location, for the rest there is big way to improve. My review is based on the expectations for a 5* boutique hotel which is (to us) having a wonderful/"going the next mile" customer experience. In our opinion is still a "wanna be" but far from being at the level the price suggests. Firstly, use of the space is odd. The hotel is small with no common space/area. Wellness area is juts no existing (tiny gym and sauna for 2). Entering straight on the right you find a desk (which you expect to be the reception). It happened to be only the concierge, so now check-in over there. We found out after 5 minutes of waiting there while a member of the staff was occupied with other customers. Reception is just upstairs. So we go there and we wait for another 10 minutes till the couple before us finishes with check-in (one staff representative only for check-in). While we wait, we have been asked if we wanted something to drink. I asked for a coffee, and was replied coffee is not possible. It is only water or cava. Really?? Is that so hard to get a coffee at the bar? Another odd policy, you pay on arrival. It did not happen often to me in 5* hotels to pay the all staying in advance. I have insisted to pay at the check-out but the staff representative cut short saying that was the hotel policy and we had to comply with it .Staff, we found the staff mostly under-trained for an hotel at this level. Ranging from the command of English, to the way they speak to customers, to the way they behave. Clearly under-staffed for breakfast, they reply is not their fault if service is slow or tables are not clean since it is just 3 of them. Do the customer really need to know that? On our second day, I had to go and ask downstairs to make our room since was still undone (it was 4PM and we have been away most of the day). All in all, if you are also looking for the perfect 5* experience, look for something else.

Pros: The staff and location where fantastic food specially Rafa and Pablo. The hotel is well decorated the pool and roof top area where great place to relax after a day sight seeing. We enjoyed our visit to Barcelona and highly recommend Ohla

Pros: Room was very clean and all furniture was up to date. Interesting layout with the shower in the middle of the room.Roof top patio-I used at all times of the day and was great to relax especially after a long walk during the day.

Pros: Staff was amazing, especially the concierge! I can’t stress how accommodating the stay is made from the start. Assistance with parking the car, luggage, check in, scheduling meals, tours, weather or even a quick laundry trip. The concierge was one of the best. Breakfast is great. Loved the rooftop pool and bar. Very comfortable rooms and great tub.

Cons: I wish there was a laundry room on site (but only due to this being our last stop out of 3 cities). Laundry mat was within a 5 minute walk so easily managed

Pros: The personalized service was amazing. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they had a bottle of Cava waiting for us in our room which had a beautifu view of the plaza.

Pros: The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. The room was comfortable with a great view over La Ramblas, lovely big windows which opened fully. Nice touches on arrival, water, chocolate, sweets, Pringles, slippers. Room very clean. Bathroom a good size, clean with extras such as plaster, sewing kit, toothbrush, make up pad, toiletries. Location absolutely excellent. Breakfast excellent. Relaxed atmosphere, great small touches such as free water in reception and fruit/chocolates which made all the difference. Great place, I would stay again and I would recommend to others.

Pros: Super friendly! I loved that we received communication before our visit to let us know about additional services available. We arrived early and they were very accommodating. We were able to purchase our sightseeing tours and entrances directly from them and they provided a packet of maps and brochures. The room was very nice, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast offered for 10 euros additional was really great. Wonderful location too! When we come back to Barcelona, we will definitely stay here again!

Pros: Perfect location on La Rambla where everything happens and close to dozens of restaurants. Walking distance to modern harbour area and shops. Close to where most tour buses depart from. Taxi stands about one minute away. Soundproofing in room was excellent and our room looked over main street. Amazing food market 5 minute walk away
