I don't mind being inconvenienced for the little ones, I'm a dad of 4 myself, I've traveled a lot and know how it goes. But jesus christ, she's your wife, that's your child, try taking care of them."

Virgin all the way!"

Prepaid my luggage for $19 each way and decided not to order any food (much cheaper at the airport anyway). People just have to be aware that low cost carriers like Jetstar can offer such affordable fares by excluding many things. Qantas would have been approximately 2x as expensive per flight and would have included more things, but the appeal of low cost is to be able to choose what you need."

I'll never fly with them again. If you're smart you won't either."

Had to throw out clothes and shoes to meet weight requirements as they charge $25 a kilogram for extra weight which was not disclosed when we received our confirmation. We were the only ones hassled over being a few kilos over each. Many people hand large luggage carry ons which wouldn't even fit in the luggage testers yet no one said anything to them. 90 percent of the people were easily over the 7KG weight allowance for carry on luggage and were not hassled at all. It was pure discrimination and perhaps it was because I was italian or my wife had blond hair. Who knows. I have been on hundreds of flights in my life and have never been so humiliated in my life. The blonde luggage counter and boarding ticket taker, was insulting and even insisted on seeing our australian visitors permit which is not required according to Australian customs once you have paid for it and are registered. She even tried to force my wife to check her bag even though it fit in their luggage sizing testers. Another tall lady with glasses at the luggage check in area, was also very insulting and discriminated against us. Horrible experience. Both of those people would be fired if I was running the airline. Its a service business and while I understand rules, you have to have some discretion and if your going to enforce them, they must apply to all passengers, not just 2 people out of 150!"

It's much cheaper that way and gives you flexibility since it's by weight and not bag count. Second best is anytime prior to airport. If you are overweight at the airport, you're doing it wrong. Bring your own food (I like Subway), water container, and entertainment for minimum discomfort. I would fly them again."

While that seems nice, it's clear it's a bogus charge if rules don't need to be followed. One flight the baggage fee was $50, another was $160 - with these costs included they are actually more expensive than other airlines. Took an international flight and all food and drinks on the flight had to be purchased, pretty ridiculous that the airline does not include water over a three hour travel time."

Cons: "I had had to fly international as the flight originated from Japan. I had to clear customs in a special assistance line as the smart Gate didn't understand. So add 30_45 minutes to when you think you will be exciting the airport or transferring. Bring your own water and food. Nothing is complimentary or speedy. Don't bring coffee, hot liquids are not allowed. Also, make sure you booked the option with a checked bag or it's charged as excess and it's an exuberant amount."
Pros: "The staff were very good."
Cons: "I booked a seat and did not get the seat l had booked."
Cons: "We were stuck on the tarmac for 3 hours and there was no attempt to make us passengers comfortable during that time. Poor service."
Pros: "Upon check in, I was unable to proceed with checking my luggage because apparently when I booked the flight through Kayak, it did not prompt me to indicate how many bags I would be checking on this flight. On the day of the flight, it costs $160 AUD to check a bag that is 15kg! $160AUD!!! That is an insanely high amount of money to check 1 piece of luggage. For every 1kg over 15, it is an additional $25AUD. Can you believe that? The airline refused to waive the fee and blamed the 3rd party booking company (Kayak) for the oversight. They did, however, let me sit in a exit row, free of charge. This is so backwards. I would have much rather just sat in a normal seat and checked my bag for free."
Cons: "Once I boarded the flight, I was seated in an exit row, and something was leaking from the area above me. It looked like the color of coca-cola and/or urine. I called the flight attendant over to my seat once the seat-belt sign was off, and he immediately assumed that my bag in the overhead was causing the leak rather than running to bring something to clean it up and stop the leak. He kept checking the overhead luggage area when the leak was clearly coming from the air conditioning unit. The leak splattered onto my arm, book and passport. It was disgusting. I had to ask the flight attendant if I could move seats. I was not given any type of voucher for a free drink, free seat upgrade or free luggage check. Yuck. Thankfully the leak eventually stopped."
