Pros: The location is very good, close to the museums and a part of the city with a lot of cultural activity. The hotel is very well kept, good design, a nice selection of art in the common areas and the rooms. Having complementary internet in the room is very nice, particularly if considering that some hotels charge a lot for this service, which should be standard by now. The breakfast had a good selection of high-quality food.

Pros: A friendly and very clean small hotel in a convenient location for seeing the sights of Vienna. Despite being on one of the main shopping streets of the city our room was quiet, and most comfortable. This is an excellent hotel, and we will be going back in the future. A most comprehensive breakfast, and the bread was especially good.

Pros: There were two things that I liked best about my stay at Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth. The location and the room. The hotel is tucked just a few steps from St. Stephen's Square and the main shopping high street. The room was comfortable, the bed was cozy, and the large shower with multi-shower heads was welcome after a road trip to Vienna and an all-day walk of the city.
Cons: The buffet-style breakfast (which was quite good) was an option for single room but automatically included in the price for a double. I prefer the choice to opt-out as I'm not much into breakfast buffets and like eating outside the hotel. Parking was an additional 32€ / day. There was some construction noise ongoing but it didn't keep me from a deep sleep.

The Hotel staff were wonderful, genuinely friendly and were always willing to help. I can't speak highly enough of their service. The location was perfect as I was right next to the Opera House, which was the reason for my visit.

But I must mention cleanliness. . . it is immaculate. Also, the business center was terrific-- computers (with printers) at your fingertips, easy to use and incredibly convenient. One can hardly do better than to stay at the Grand Hotel Wien. It made our vacation even more memorable.

Cons: Found the overall staff service to be lacking. Concierge typically jumps at opportunity to provide service/advice but not here. For the most part, the hotel bars and restaurants are over-hyped and completely over-priced with much better alternatives just a few steps away (both quality and price). Smell of stale smoke hits you just as you enter the building - thanks to a smoking lounge conveniently located on the second level. Hotel wifi is a total joke and not to be relied upon. Hotel includes restricted wifi with your room rate and asks ridiculous payment for slight improvement. In my experience even budget accommodations provide this service infinitely better. Overall, this is a stuffy hotel situated for the stuffy traveler. Sounds of enjoyment or laughter are non-existent in common areas, which speaks volumes. Call yourself luxury, and pay for memberships in luxury hotel associations all you want - it doesn't make it so.

Pros: Le Meridien is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in. The room was large, beautifully appointed and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location is fabulous with the Albertina art gallery, museums and the Opera House within a couple of blocks of the entrance. I would absolutely recommend this premier hotel to everyone!

Cons: At arrival we were told that we were already pre-charged by booking.com and cannot have the bill which we needed for a company. This was strange since in past experiences, booking.com was only for booking and I would be charged directly on the spot. After talking to a manager, receptionist told us that he could give us the bill afterall. Wellness did not work (besides fitness) which was one of the main reasons for booking Le Meridien. Minibar was complimentar but contained only: 2 waters, 2 colas and 1 beer?!!!! I would rather pay than have such a poor choice! I realice you can call room service and order, but I personaly do not like that and I find it disturbing. Also, maid managed to come in in my room twice in the same morning, once I was half naked - I hoped 5 star hotel had a sistem of checking if anyone is still in the room or at least knocking... And at the end, breakfast was 29 EUR, and there is only public garage which you have to pay.

Cons: Rooms are very simple and small, but what do you care if there is so much to see in Vienna. They are clean and got everything u may need or want.
I got this hotel for the own bar and the decent number of rooms thinking that as a solo traveler it will be a great way to meet new people. Low in behold - the bartender is very nice and knowlegeble, speaks great english ( even though i know german), but the bar itself is dead. There are barely 6-8 guests at a time, you wont be meeting anyone there. it is slightly cheaper, than bars on kentner strasse, so I would stop buy and have a drink before heading out.
I had early tours every morning, never quite figured out if they provided breakfast, it certainly was NOT available in the bar, as the hotel papers claimed.

Cons: Our issues were: 1. The shower head had chrome peeling off and was very sharp and almost cut our hands. 2. We were given 2 single duvets instead of a double duvet or sheet. 3. The water pooled in the bath and didnt drain away for quite some time. The last 2 points were still present in the new room. Apparently they dont do double duvets! In both rooms we saw the shower head is positioned centrally over the bath but the shower guard is positioned to one side. Almost impossible to have a 'hands-free' shower without getting the floor wet!

Cons: Restaurants are expensive, and menus were not that appealing to us. We did hope to have an after dinner drink or dessert at the rooftop terrace one. The night we tried to do so, half the restaurant and the bar were closed for a private party. Disappointing.
There is no coffee available prior to 7 a.m., nor were we able to find anywhere near by where we could get some prior to an early departure for a tour. Seems the best option is to get a coffee drink from the refrigerated section of the grocery across the street ahead of time.

Cons: As my flight arrives at 11am and I requested if I could check-in early - the reply was rather unhelpful. It would be more appreciative if the Manager could somehow help/allow guests to check-in (even at) 1 hour earlier, it would have been appreciated.

Cons: I was not aware that the gym/leisure centre was not at the hotel until I enquired when I was there. Also when I did go to he gym I was not able to find it as I was not given its address just the voucher & not good directions. I felt proper directions with address should be given. majority of staff was very helpful & courtious 7

Pros: We booked in advance and paid half price for a room that would otherwise have been way out of our league. We had a great stay. The location is fantastic, right in the busy city centre. The staff were great and the rooms were to die for. A nice end to our holiday, with a little luxury.

Pros: I travel for a living, and stay most of my life in properties of all shapes and sizes. I prefer writing reviews like this one where I was 100% happy with everything, beating my expectations. The room was peaceful, the internet was fast, the breakfast was full and diverse, the owners/staff were completely friendly and helpful, the price was an unbelievable bargain, and the location was the best possible location in center city. I was completely happy with my stay in every possible way.

Cons: It was a strange Hotel, the kind you would only find in Europe. Creepy old (but well functioning) elevator. Didnt realize walking to 3rd floor with suitcases was more like walking to 5th floor due to ground level and mezzanine level. First front desk guy spoke good english but the guy on shift after him had poor english. And he yelled at me due to a miscommunication due to not speaking same language!!! In the end he righted his wrong but it was stressful.
