Pros: Wonderful staff, excellent Brasserie/bakery that is also open to the public and clearly very popular with the Viennese. The food is excellent with an all day menu - the place has a great atmosphere. We very much appreciated being able to have an omelette from the breakfast menu for supper when we only wanted something light! We loved the four free bottles of wine we were given and able to take into the restaurant at no charge. The bottles drunk were replaced daily - at no charge! The hotel has a modern, stylish feel although in no way minimalistic or uncomfortable. The location is fantastic and very central - moments walk from the opera house/hotel Sacher/Spanish riding school/Albertina. We will definitely be back!

Pros: I had breakfast & dinner and they were both very good, I had no reason to leave the hotel and eat out. I liked my room but I had some problem with the smell emanating from the shower drainage and the shower head was not functioning properly so taking a shower was rather tricky; I mentioned these during my checkout and as a way to apologise for the inconvenience it caused, they took away the charges for one breakfast. It was a nice gesture and quick thinking on their part which I highly appreciate.

Pros: Lovely quiet room with very comfortable bed and duck down pillows and duvet. Very buzzy bistro. Excellent location. Hip and trendy.
Cons: Service in restaurant was not excellent at times (eg starters and main courses all arriving together). Also, there is no hotel foyer as such ... I like an area where one can sit and people watch ... nonetheless the hotel is lovely.

Pros: Location was excellent.
Cons: AC was broken and they refused to move us.
Breakfast was terrible.
Girl at the front desk was clueless about restaurants and bars.... She sent us off to a bar in a taxi.... 20 euros.... And it had been closed for renovations for three months.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Design and size of the rooms, atmosphere in the restaurant/bar
Cons: Breakfast was very crowded and noisy with many non-hotel guests. Maybe separate section for hotel guest?

Pros: Staff & room service and housekeeping - faultless ! Amazing amount of freebies from room fridge too. Really good location.
Cons: I thought it was expensive but to be fair it was not expensive for vienna...!

4.2 Okay
Pros: Some staff were excellent, in the bar, the guy who checked us in, the people who brought us room service. The location was perfect and the spa was great
Cons: Recently stayed here for 2 nights for our minimoon and trip started so well. The guy checking us in was very friendly and had a bottle of champagne waiting in our room but it went down hill from there. They forgot to bring up our bags, not a big deal. Then when we went to use the shower we noticed the drain was blocked and water leaked out all over bathroom floor. Had to speak to 3 different people to try get this fixed and not one of them apologised for the inconvenience. Before the 4th person came to fix the issue we went out for dinner cause this had already wasted so much of our evening. When we came back the drain was unblocked but the bathroom and shower was covered in mucky shoe prints. After housekeeping had been the next day there was still mucking shoe prints in the shower, just goes to show how well they clean the place. The mattresses are as old as the furniture, all lumpy and sagging in the middle. Had 2 terrible nights sleep. Ordered room service on the 2nd evening and it was awful, the cheapest frozen pizza they could find but charge you €30 + for it. The air con was faulty, no matter what temp it was set to the room was cold. When it did eventually heat up it got too warm but if you turned it down at all, it would be freezing again. They only give free WiFi for 24 hours then it's €10. Everywhere has free WiFi nowadays. For a 5 star hotel and the price your paying i expected so much more, the issues we had weren't even that big its just how they were dealt with that bothered me. It really took away from our stay in this beautiful city.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The second room after complaining was lovely
Cons: I think sometimes when you book on booking.com there is a sense of being a second class citizen. The first room given was appalling. We literally had to drag the manager to look at it who agreed the bed sheet hadn’t been washed in months! There was mould on the bed. Whether they’d had water damage I don’t know but this room had been clearly not been used in a long time.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Superb location. Concierge helped us get tickets to see sold out Bruegel expo. Everything about this hotel is 5 stars
Cons:
6.5 Good
Pros: Rooms are fairly large for European standards and the location is great. The bed is fairly good and the bathroom game is strong.
Cons: Found the overall staff service to be lacking. Concierge typically jumps at opportunity to provide service/advice but not here. For the most part, the hotel bars and restaurants are over-hyped and completely over-priced with much better alternatives just a few steps away (both quality and price). Smell of stale smoke hits you just as you enter the building - thanks to a smoking lounge conveniently located on the second level. Hotel wifi is a total joke and not to be relied upon. Hotel includes restricted wifi with your room rate and asks ridiculous payment for slight improvement. In my experience even budget accommodations provide this service infinitely better. Overall, this is a stuffy hotel situated for the stuffy traveler. Sounds of enjoyment or laughter are non-existent in common areas, which speaks volumes. Call yourself luxury, and pay for memberships in luxury hotel associations all you want - it doesn't make it so.
9.7 Excellent
Pros:
Cons: breakfast was limited vs. other LHW hotels

Pros: Great staff, luxury hotel
Cons: Breakfast was bedlam, not the hotels problem, too many people trying to get into the breakfast at once, the staff were very good, unlike some of the guests!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Attention to detail , staff amazing, rooms beautiful, food excellent
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: room cleaning was especially detailed. Hotel would take extra step to tidy my personal belongings.
Cons:
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bedroom was comfortable and the staff were extremely apologetic and helpful about the problems and there were problems.
Cons: On arriving we were shocked by the dreadful seasonal decorations, cheap christmas trees with awful LED lights, all different lights (this was not an intentional look - it was cobbling together old decorations) warm lights, blue white lights and pink lights with tacky purple velvet animals. Really you could do better. As a designer I would love the chance to speak to whoever thought this looked good. It looks like a cheap hotel/motel. Your group needs to get more help with decorations, we were shocked how awful and sad the entrance and surrounding areas look. I am happy to send you some photos as evidence to back up our complaints. They do not need to be very "christmassy" as I appreciate not all your customers celebrate but they could be topical for the city your hotel is in and how anyone thinks that animals from the tropics/Africa and purple at all appropriate I am not sure. And at least buy christmas trees with all the same lights, you can see from the photos some looked white and others didn't The door handle to bathroom fell off in our hand, we were told not to worry as there is a phone in the bathroom so that if we got lock in we could call but help but then we established the phone did not work. Both were repaired during our visit. The bedside lamp was broken, this was repaired during our visit The light control was not working and once the lights were off in order to turn them on we had to go to the door We had to queue for over 5 minutes to get into breakfast despite tables being free. Coffee took over 10 minutes. There was definitely shortage of staff in the breakfast room and as when we left the queues were much longer, over 12 people waiting Saturday morning and they must have waited for 10 minutes with young children too However I would say your staff are helpful and doing their best.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: ALL WAS EXCELLENT.
Cons: THE PRICE OF BREAKFAST.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, walking distance to the city's mais attarctions. Great breakfast with super service. Staff was great! Spa was great. Massage was one of the best I got in my life at a hotel!
Cons: The style of the hotel is not nice, kind of old style... Needs an update asap in the design of the room, lobby etc. Is not at the same level of other Ritzs that I know.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lobby and employees
Cons: Spa isn’t as expected to be , sauna temperature not as proper levels and there isn’t relaxing area at spa .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We found a fabulous price on Kayak. We would not have stayed at the Ritz at their normal rates. It was a terrific value for us.
Cons:

Pros: Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The price was quite reasonable.
Cons: The street noise late at night was very bothersome. I am a very sound sleeper and eventually I got to bed, but I could see it really being a problem for some people. My room was tiny. Again, this didn't bother me THAT much, b/c "cozy" is OK for me, but this was on the edge of that and I think some would be more bothered.

Pros: Fantastic location. Good sized room. Rooms were clean. The breakfast is good with a nice choice and good quality food. Some of the staff members were very helpful.
Cons: The decor is bland both in the common areas and the rooms. The rooms are large and functional but do not feel at all homely or romantic, they are functional but do not make for a romantic stay. The bathroom was large but again focused on just the basic functionality. The shower was over the bath and even with the shower curtain it was difficult not to get water all over the floor. Overall we felt the room was very bland and disappointing. While the lady at reception was helpful when asked she seemed to consider it a real effort to take the time to help. Our room was a non smoking room but it was clear that the person prior to us had been smoking and the smell was in the linen and fabric. It took three of four days for this to fade away. While the hotel is in a fantastic location there is a lot of street noise due to traffic and trams. The hotel was ok for us but I would not stay again. They did not replace the coffee in our room but there was a very helpful man at reception who helped us with this.

Celebrating tradition at the Grand Ferdinand is about moving forward, not looking back. Free of forced flashbacks. With an openness to continuing times past. We haven't set out to redefine the restaurant and hotel business. What interests us is tradition. We want to recapture eras in Vienna in which nothing was more meaningful than embodying what was good. Setting the stage: Lobmeyr chandeliers, Viennese silverware, the best French champagne, and at the centre of it all, grand Viennese cuisine.

Pros: Location was great for walking to city Center. Rooms were clean.
Cons: Staff were polite but not informed about their own hotel. We were send from the Lobby bar to the 8th floor bar. Which was also closed because of a privat party. It was not possible to get a drink at any of the 2 bars after 11.45PM. The rooms were too hot and air conditioning was not working to cool room. It is not possible to have small reading light on. You can only switch on or dimmer all lights at once or switch all off at once.

Cons: Nothing it was perfect
7.5 Good
Pros: The decoration is great, the rooftop is perfect to have a nice drink and the location of the hotel could not be better.
Cons: For a hotel of this standard we found the staff was not carefull for its customers. People got in our room when we were in it not once but FOUR times. not really intimate... When we told reception just a small "sorry" and no gesture. At this price , this is hardly acceptable An other thing : at breakfast we had to stand and go take our cutleries by ourselves...5stars hotel ?

Pros: The room was comfortable and beautiful. The concierge & FO staff were very helpful and kind. Small details will be remembered from a vacation such as: bringing orange juice to our breakfast table, cutting cigars for us and giving us blankets when we were cold outside at the terrace. Excellent service 5/5 Thank you.
Cons: Unfortunately our rooms shower did not work properly. I complained soon after the check-in and the staff promised that they would fix it. However, the shower never worked during our stay and I did approach the FO staff regarding it many times during my stay. Suggestions about moving room, discount to FB or complimentary breakfast etc. was never mentioned or suggested. This was a bit surprising as it is a 5* hotel. Additionally, the housekeeping forgot during the cleaning new toilet papers and towels. The bar opening hours were a bit confusing as it says it closes at 01:00 am but you cannot order any small snacks/foods after 22.00pm.
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice rooftop restaurant with a good view of the city, and the staff is polite and attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Cons: They do not have a dedicated concierge, and front desk staff was poorly trained and equipped to provide the customer service you would expect of a concierge. In the concierge capacity, they are neither proactive to support their guests, nor do they have the knowledge or experience to meet the needs of their guests Also, the window shutters in the rooms do not effectively block out light when you are trying to sleep.

Pros: Really Excellent location. Thats the reason I had chosen this hotel. The rooms and bath were big . Good helpful staff at the Reception.
Cons: Housekeeping was bad. One day..in a deluxe room ..I came back in the evening after being our the whole day to just the towels being changed and the bath cleaned . The room was not vacuumed nor were the bedsheets changed or cleared. There were debris still on the floor as i haf left it and some food crumbs on the bedsheets. When i complained to reception and asked them to send the housekeeper to check the next day..nobody from housekeeping came to check. This kind of housekeeping is totally not acceptable.

Pros: The staff was very nice and extremely helpful with restaurant/cafe suggestions, planning transportation and suggesting what yours to do. Everyone was extremely pleasant! The location is great, everything (minus Schonbrunn) was within a 20 min walk.
Cons: The layout of the room was a little odd to me, I had to walk around a free standing closet to get to my bed which was difficult to navigate if I had to use the facilities in the middle of the night. Also, one of my windows was broken. I kept closing it, but it would magically keep opening

Pros: Room was comfortable and clean. The quad with 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for family of 4. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Could use more selection of hot foods and fruits like hot cereal, such as oatmeal and fruits such as, cut pineapple or oranges. But we were happy and satisfied every day. We really enjoyed the variety of croissants, plain, cream filled, chive cheese, and also a ham/bacon one, Yum!!

Pros: Excellent location. Room was clean and well heated as we were travelling in the winter.
Cons: As there were 3 people staying, I would have liked 3 single beds, rather than a large double bed for two people to share.

Cons: For some reason, the hotel staff knocked on the door every morning (incl. week-end) about 9am or 10am to replenish the minibar and/or to clean the room. Maybe good to add a do not disturb sign I could not find and in general to start these operations later during the day.

Pros: The people at the reception and breakfast were always very kind. They made bookings for us for a fantastic concert and they were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The apartment we stayed in was huge! We felt very safe in that neighborhood. We had pre-booked taxi from and to the airport via booking.com, which apparently was reasonably priced (32 euro/way). Taxis from the city center to the hotel were about 6 euros.

Taxis from the city center to the hotel were about 6 euros.
Cons: For the price we paid, I wouldn't expect anything more! If I was staying in a much much more expensive place I would expect a newer bath tab and a more modern breakfast room. But really, everything was just right and value for money. I would only comment that once a taxi driver was called by the reception to drive us to the center and charged 12 euros (instead of the usual rate of 6), so I would recommend to get taxis from the street. That was of course not the reception's fault but the taxi driver who treated us as tourists and started driving us in circles. That was an one off event. In general the locals were amazingly kind and calm and were always happy to give us directions in English.

Pros: Very good breakfast with different type of traditional cheeses, hams, breads, cakes, jams, fruits, juices and also with free self-service coffee and tea. A proper Continental Breakfast!!! Beautiful building located in a excellent location a few steps from the City Centre. Excellent Cleaning and Comfort!!!
Cons: Tea selection box should be provided in the room. Didn’t like the concept of takeaway cups in the room to make the English Breakfast or Coffee, not at all environmental friendly, mugs are the ideal solution at least can be always reused after a good cleaning.
