Construction noise. From 9 to 7pm I wouldnt chose if i knew
It’s 5 years that I regularly come to Vienna so I’m quite expert on prices and quality of the hotels in general. It’s the first time that I stay at The Hilton, the Hotel is under renovation and they advertise the fact that they are still fully operational as good; Well, it’s not. At the moment there are two Hotels in one, the renovated part, which is good, and the bad, old, smelly, dirty part, not yet renovated. They assigned me a room at 1st floor; The entire floor smell like garlic, I’m Italian, and if I complain about garlic smell, it means that is very strong. I enter the room and the bed is undone, the shower gel is open and there’s a couple of long hair in the sink / towels. I immediately go to complain at the reception and they are very kind and sorry, they offer me an upgrade. 11th Floor. 11th floor looks like a different hotel, everything is new and clean. The phone in the room it’s the only medieval piece, and in fact it doesn’t work. Said that: I paid 200€ per night, breakfast included. The price is “ok” if you get a renovated room, but you can find better place for cheap, in a more central area; Like Steigenberger for example. The old rooms are 30 years old, they should have renovated them 10 years ago already,
Check what I liked
comfortable room although quite small, walking distance to the sights and sounds of the town.
Whilst i think this place had much more potential it is unfortuantely undergoing serious refurbishment, and by that i mean you'll be woken up by power tools which sound like they're in your room at 08:30 every morning which was not made clear at all beyond "there might be a little disruption" during our check-in... by our 2nd day it was unbearable, and by our 3rd we were going nuts, and buy our 4th (and fortunately our final) i was ready to just walk away.... such a shame as the staff were lovely, despite the circumstances, but you really cannot allow a hotel to be open and for guests to stay in these circumstances. We had friends staying on many of the other floors and all experienced significant disruption from noise and dust in the room as a result of the building work.
Very good location - just few minutes walk to all main attractions of Vienna. Teasty breakfast, friendly personel.
The hotel is being renovated in some of its parts, what results in ongoing construction noice during the day.
Location is perfect, 10 mins walk to the city center, 15 mins walk to the Wiener Staatsoper, very convenient. The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was awesome with various choices you can pick.
The hotel has been under construction for quite a long time. Fortunately I was not in hotel during the daytime when it was being renovated.
