Pros: Location was perfect, less than a minute from the subway. However Boston was so beautiful we walked a lot. The staff were incredibly helpful, helping us to find tickets for the Redsox baseball, which is a 15 minute walk. Shopping is just around the corner and seafront is probably 20 minutes walk or short subway. The hotel was beautiful. Very clean and had some nice extras like chocolates on your pillow and fruit and coffee to grab and go in the morning. Staff were really helpful on checking out with our boarding passes and directions. Would love to stay here again!

Cons: Service in dining room was poor. The manager told me I was reading the menu incorrectly, then once I pointed it out to her, she acknowledged I was correct. Later came back to tell me that I should remember for future reference that what was printed on the menu was actually wrong and what she told me was right!

Cons: Room 419 heater did not work. It was freezing and engineering told us the the temperature was 75 degrees when it felt like 35 degrees. Heater was fixed after two hours; however, the heater was so loud, like an airplane engine.

Cons: During 2 nights there was a dog barking in the room next to us, we couldn’t sleep well. The Manager reacted immediately but it was an unpleasant situation.

Cons: Our specific room had a constant and regular sound as if someone was moving stuff or walking heavy-footed above or next to us. Made it hard to sleep especially on the last night, severely affecting our energy levels. Staff was understanding but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. After a lot of deliberation, I believe it was the elevator nearby that room. But I assure you that except for the final night, this aspect did not detract from the rest of the experience at other times - which was awesome!

Cons: Room layout was odd, with the bathroom right next to the bed. Restaurant dining options were limited. After checking in, after traveling all day we were looking for a light meal and ended settling for a hamburger and a bowl of soup. We found the in-room dining had different options and wonder why these were not available in the restaurant. Food and beverage prices were high even by hotel dining standards. Lobby was sterile and not very comfortable.

Cons: We had the breakfast package included at Eastern Standard. Eastern Standard has a great atmosphere but the service and food was a major disappointment. We were seated and were informed by our server that she would be with us in a couple of minutes. After a 10 minute wait we were brought coffee by the hostess. We continued to wait but the server never returned. The hostess again returned and this time took our order. Our food arrived, eggs Benedict, and we both found that the eggs had been over cooked, hard in the middle as well as the English muffin to be like a hockey puck. The hostess never returned to check on our meal. Total disappointment!!!!

Cons: $25/night Resort fee for things that are included in EVERY other hotel. I didn't use any of the things I paid for (coffee, gym, car service etc.) I don't think this hotel had a resort feel to it at all ☹️ As a traveler at the end of a ten day trip, where I stayed in 4 other hotels, I thought this hotel was just OK. For the money I paid there are plenty of other hotels with more amenities. This is my second time in Boston and I wish we had stayed where we did the first time. No fault of the hotel but parents beware there is NOTHING for kids to do once you're done for the day (no pool or game room). I think this hotel would be great for couples or those on business trips.

My family booked a suite (two separate rooms with beds) but pillows were missing for the 2nd bed and only two drinking glasses were in the rooms. The rooms were also unnecessarily loud. In a hotel of this caliber, I should not be able to hear every word of the tv in the next room, even with the tv on a normal level, or every footstep of the guests in the room above ours. This kept my children awake. I will not stay here again.

Cons: We had a problem with the toilet, called front desk they said will call maintenance. Waited 30 min had to call again. Went for breakfast at Thornton’s which is a 5 min walk and very good. The toilet was taken care of when we came back to gather our belongings to head back home in NH.

Pros: Great place. There is near for metro stasion green line. 15 minutes you need that be at the city centre. Hostel stays near berklee college and there a lot of places where arts people spend time. Hostel is clean, hosts is friendly.

Pros: The double bedroom which we booked was spacious. The bathroom was shared, but there were enough bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms were mostly clean.

Pros: Re: romantic place to stay question, no if you mean intimacy. The room I was in accommodated 4 people, with 2 bunk beds. Understandably because this is a hostel. I believe there are other private rooms, and 2-bed/shared guests rooms. Location was central, heart of Berklee College of Music, couple of blocks to Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox), same with Back Bay. Short walking distance to Public Library and much more. Staff was responsive and accommodating.

Cons: I was un aware that there was no private room and this place is a youth hostel. I canceled on the spot and then was stuck with a $400 hotel room because Boston is over priced for no logical reason.

Cons: For a room with shared bathroom, I found the price too expensive. There was no elevator.

Cons: Terrible beds and mattresses in a double/ Twin bed room. No air-condition must be mentioned, we could not sleep at all. The window was broken and could not be fixed. It was extremely loud and hot. This hostel is way to expensive for what they can offer. After one night we had to check out and leave that place!

Cons: I was assigned a top bunk which was fine. However, there is a ceiling beam that protrudes and it was on the way of me getting up and through to my bed. That was a struggle.

The staff helped with restaurant advice & direction. They were so nice to hold my luggage after I had to check out. Flying is stressful for me so ease with that really helps me

Just a few steps away from back bay train station which was perfect as this is where the train picks you up to go to Gillette stadium (if interested in or going to watch a New England Patriots football game). Close by are a couple of great breakfast spots. Look at pictures before you book so you won't be in shock and know exactly what you're getting which is a clean room for a great price for that location.

Cons: Local restaraunt advice & friendliness of staff. They're a very green hotel too! They're so close to so many options. They were perfect for the conference I had to go to. Within walking distance of conference & near really stellar restaurants. All walking distance!!!

Cons: The hotel is old and outdated, and has clearly never been renovated. There’s no WiFi in the room, and the room was not up to my cleanliness preferences. Unfortunately, hotels in this area during the summer in Boston are wicked expensive—$400+ per night. I paid almost $200 per night for this hotel, and even that was far too much for the quality. The one benefit: great location.

Cons: However, it was very worn and the corners in the bathroom were dirty. The tub was disgusting. The carpet was torn and dirty. Although cheaper than other hotels, it was not cheap -- $262 for one night. I would not stay there again.

Cons: Since the building was old, the wifi didn't reach the rooms reliably. Wifi was available in the lobby, and there was a business center with two computers, printers, and a copier. Unfortunately, the printer for computers were not set-up. I had to use the FedEx around the corner to print.
