Absolutely appalling customer service. Understaffed, 40 minutes to get to counter/agent, and once there, very rude, aggressive and not welcome attempts to upselll everything from unneeded insurance to vehicle type and when not accepted, the agent became surely and clearly 'punished' me with a very small car after I rented a midsize. I will never rent again with Avis.Reviewed 9 Nov 2025

There was a huge line to get the car already reserved that took near 1-hour. After the car return I was charged for some services I didn't agree, even after being explicit with the company not to add services besides the one already included in the original reservation. Got in contact with the company afterwards to complain and was told that they had some small letters on the contract that allow them to proceed this way. Very bad experience and would not recoment the company.Reviewed 15 May 2025

Would not allow me to cancel prior to my trip and as a result made it a huge problem while renting the car I actually wanted. Would not recommend Kayak ever.Reviewed 8 May 2025

First car had issues with phone connectability so I asked to change (before leaving pickup area) and that was begrudgingly done. Asked to add pre-pay fuel at exit which is where we have always been told to and was told they couldn't and that I had to call to arrange. Call cost me a lot due to international chargers on my phone. When I called they refused to do so because I had already collected which meant I had to mess around filling up at near an airport with hard to find fuel options. Wasn't advised of the change, if there is one or it may just have been an employee that couldn't be bothered. Very unhelpful on phone.Reviewed 12 Feb 2025

The price I was quoted when I reserved the car was much less than I ended up paying. Also I was told that extending the rental another day would be $30 and I turned out to be $71. When I called to question this, I was told it was a “miscommunication.” This is untrue. The car was nice but it had low air in one tire and I had to stop and top it up, even though I only had the car for two days. I won’t be renting with Avis again.Reviewed 8 Jan 2025

It took 30 minutes to pick up the car as there was only one person at that location. Also the car was dirty from inside and very wet from outside due to a recent wash which left lot of water marks on windshield and window glasses.Reviewed 8 Jan 2025

I ordered to Tesla and they gave me a Mercedes eqb 350. This EV is a joke. It's navigation system doesn't work, it's autopilot Source back and forth in the lane, it's voice system doesn't work. It's recommendation for Chargers 80% of the time we're behind locked Gates. I could go on and on but if anybody got this as their first TV they would go back to gas cars. The Avis rep of the airport lied about how many tolls I would be going through and upcharge me. They also lied about the cost of electricity charging and that I should pay to be able to drop the vehicle off and not worry about it. Mercedes come with free charging. I called into Avis just went off the car and it wasn't possible without me driving back into the airport a two-hour one-way trip. Customer service wasn't able to tell me if they had a car to swap over the phone. How in 2024 is it possible a customer service agent can't look at their database and see how many cars are at a location? I imagine it was yet another lie. Very poor experience overall.Reviewed 29 Dec 2024

Even with 2 weeks notice they couldn't arrange a regular sized suv for Orlando airport. I booked and paid for it, then got a call the next day saying 'sorry, we don't have that vehicle'. Well your website let me book it. It was a Ford Explorer or equivalent, not something unusual. They hung on to the payment for a week though. I booked with Alamo instead and had a seamless experience.Reviewed 18 Aug 2024
