Cons: When I booked the Hertz car through Ka*ak, I just searched San Diego car rental and choose the first that came up. Little did I know that I was booking on the San Diego side of the Tijuana airport.
I had 3 children with me and I wasn’t keen on getting an Uber and going to Tijuana to pick up the vehicle. Hertz said they were not able to transfer the rental and I would need to call Ka*ak. After quite a while on the phone trying to get a hold of an actual human at Ka*ak, I gave up and got back in the long line at Hertz. They said they had “good news”, they could rent me a mini-van and an exorbitant price. I decided to pass and just rented another car from one of their competitors.
This whole ordeal was my fault to begin with, as I should have double checked that when I put in SD and a SD address came up, that it was the actual one I was looking for - not the SD side of the Tijuana airport. However my experience with Ka*ak was awful. The people at Hertz said this happened often. While it is not their fault, the survey asked how my experience was - it was most definitely POOR. :-(
Pros: It was a very smooth transaction.
Cons: Check out cost overview.
Pros: The gal at the front desk was one of only two employees and she was there for us both pick up and drop off. I know her job was stressful right now and I hope she knows that she gave us the most excellent customer service I’ve seen in a while.
Cons: It was on the border of Mexico and California...we got a foreign car that was in KM not MPH so I didn’t know how fast I was going. It wasn’t that big of a deal but I do wish it was disclosed to me when I rented it.
Cons: Passenger side seatbelt was broken. Soda or coffee on the ceiling
Pros: The staff were friendly and efficient
Cons: everything was satisfactory
Cons: I didn’t even get to drive the car or pick up my reservation. I haven’t been able to contact anyone about how to cancel it. I sat in the rental car place at hertz for two hours just to get to the counter and then them tell me I was at the wrong location for San Diego and they couldn’t transfer my reservation over. I had been traveling all day. Left losing 60 bucks and in tears had to rent from another company.
Pros: Staff was pleasant.
Cons: Got a completely different van from the reservation.
Cons: First - I’m outraged and will be filing a complaint with the BBB San Diego and the Federal Transportation Commission about Kayak. I searched for airport port rental cars on Kayak and selected what I thought was a good deal. When I arrived at the San Diego Rental Car Center, imagine my surprise when the rude young woman told me my rental was at a location near the Mexican border and not at the airport. She said Kayak does that when you look for rental cars at an airport location. I’ll never use Kayak again and will be certain to tell as many people as possible about the deceptive way Kayak operates.
Pros: I didn’t like personnel
Cons: Great service..fast and easy..
Pros: Did not have the car I reserved. Reserved a full size car and only had compact cars and they wanted to charge me three times the amount.
Cons: Actually have the car I reserved.
Pros: My agent was fantastic, quick and helpful. She also met me in the parking lot as soon as I parked. I was in and out in 5 minutes. She deserves a raise.
