Pros: The location was perfect with food and attractions just steps away and a short drive to the park, all the while remaining a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. All of the staff were very friendly, genuine and helpful. The rooms are so spacious and have an amazing (and large) dual head shower and separate soaking tub. There are also so many spots to chill away from your room including the large pool and covered patio area with an outdoor fireplace and fire pit. We could have spent all of our time at the resort and still enjoyed ourselves.

Cons: You may need to be sure and communicate with housekeeping what you specifically need for the day, i.e. soap, tissues, etc., but not really a negative, just something to keep in mind.

Also, A friendly suggestion: consider removing floor buzzers from the elevator. They aren’t necessary and the tones are annoying. During my stay, I heard two other guests comment about them. Otherwise, great hotel!

Breakfast was fantastic – include it in your stay if you can get deal on it. Made to order omelets, eggs, and waffles, fine buffet style food like grits, sausage gravy, biscuits, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and cold items like cereal and bagels, among other things. Plus juice, coffee, etc. Really great. Nathan – the very understated gentleman wizard behind the main food station was not only preparing up to 6 items on the grill (mainly complex omelets), but also restocking items, keeping food fresh, and even holding the silver buffet tops for guests while they took food, among other things all at the same time. Servers were great, too. Rooms were good, and most importantly, the beds were great – clean and comfortable. The bedroom and bath were clean. Other amenities were nice, too. The workout facilities were more than adequate – free weights and nautilus machines. The pool was above average – an upper pool with big slide and hot tub which overflowed to a lower pool with smaller slide, zero-entry, and smaller baby pool. There were many other meeting rooms and 4 huge banquet halls (which we didn't use) – a massive place. The grounds were really nice too – very scenic in general, with nice walk-around paths, sitting areas, and landscaping. Note: We were told, upon arrival, not to leave food in our cars as bears do roam the area. The hotel had significant turnover every night (and seemingly full), so there was a kinetic energy to the place – which we like – but at the same time, it was still pretty quiet (couldn't hear other rooms, etc.).

Cons: Age (minor): While it's nice, this is an older hotel, and you can tell through the overall age and minor imperfections everywhere (flaking wood veneer everywhere, somewhat dated furniture and stylings, older bath tile, weathered seals and grout, older pool, etc.). This is a high-traffic property, so it's somewhat expected – just don't expect a newly-renovated interior. Billing (major): Every person on the staff that we encountered was nice – though, there were a few billing issues that they would not correct. We booked early and payed for an upper level room (with view) but received a 1st floor room with view of the maintenance area (employee parking lot, dumpsters, AC unit – which was loud!!) and they would not compensate us for the downgrade or even move us up to another room (which we requested on each of the three nights that we stayed there). Either one would've been fine with us, but they did neither. This is noted because – as shown on their website – you pay more (or less) depending on where the room is located. Additionally, we booked our stay with breakfast included and we were overcharged for each meal (by two adult meals), and even after learning about this, they were unwilling to correct or compensate us for the error – which is pretty amazing. We're not super-finicky travelers, so the age of the hotel is not a big deal, but getting overcharged is something we don't overlook – the billing issues (and room placement) led to a less than satisfying stay.

Cons: You are high on a mountain over looking the city. Unless you want to drive and park in town you are at the mercy of the trolly schedule. There is no option to walk from the hotel into town. Also, the hotel is not bad but everything just had an older feel to it. I just expected a little more from a Hilton chain hotel.

Pros: We’ve stayed twice now and it’s our daughters favorite because of the pool.
Cons: There is no supervision of the pool whatsoever. This visit was annoying because of a traveling soccer team of about 15 completely out of control and unmonitored teenage boys running around the pool area. They kept running my daughter over in the slide line and literally pushing her out of the way to cut in line and dive down the slide 5 at a time. I went to the top of the slide to monitor this and the boys pushed her aside right in front of me. I had to scold other people’s kids twice, which is something I would never do. But the parents weren’t around as far as I could tell. At some point the management came to monitor the kids, but realistically this soccer team should never be allowed back at this property. Another ladies daughter was getting run over as well and I saw her complain to the management. When the capacity of the pool gets to a point, the management needs to step up and keep track of the slide at the pool because it gets way out of hand and it’s going to cause arguments to people’s parents and my daughter doesn’t want to stay here anymore. I was annoyed too that I had to police other people’s kids for two nights at the pool instead of relax and enjoy our vacation while at the hotel. I’m considering not staying here again because of it. The management needs to disallow sports teams of 15-20 kids with 1 or 2 coaches who are at the bar drinking beer instead of watching the kids.

Cons: The pool was closed for construction and one selling point was an indoor pool. The elevator was old and small and took a long time to navigate between just 4 floors. The location was right off the road so there's road noise and the parking is a tight fit. The remote had to be really close to the tv to change channels. The complimentary breakfast was the same as most hotels so nothing too special there.

All the staff was pleasant and smiley. The coffee machine was missing a piece, the whole place just seemed old, a little out of date and dingy, paint scrapes and just poorly maintained. The WiFi was non-existent (the network was there but didn't work at all), the lack of elevator was a surprise, the hills were exhausting to climb...as well as the lack of hottub/whirlpool and no breakfast was frustrating.

Pros: The location was great, walked to everything and short drive to Pigeon Ford. The trolley stops right in front of the hotel. My 4 year old son loved the indoor pool. Had to mention this: My husband left a box of cigars in the room, he never smoked them because the hotel is non smoking which is a great thing. On the way home, maybe an hour away, he realized he forgot them. He was sure they were gone. We called the hotel and they said they would send someone up stairs to retrieve them and call us back. A couple hours later, the front desk called us and let us know they had our property and that the person who handles shipping would give us a call. My husband was happy but felt the Cuban cigars would be missing. 2 days later we received a call from the shipping guy and then 3 days later we received the cigars with all of his cigars in there. It’s so refreshing and a blessing to know that there are honest people out there. Thank you Glenstone Lodge! We’ll see you guys next time we’re in Gatlinburg.

We arrived early and they allowed us to go ahead and park our vehicle and they called us as soon as our room was ready which was a very nice touch! Would definitely recommend this facility!

People below our room were smoking out under our balcony with no view and could not sit out there the rooms next to us had parties going on on both sides of us people running in and out all night and day but room was ok for the price just next time I want to make sure i have a view like was booked could not see any thing for over grown trees and would have liked for it to be non smoking on the flior below us

Cons: The staff was very rude. It planly stated that i would charged upon arrival on the booking.com ad for tis particular place. When i arrived the lady informed me that i didnt have reservations and then come to find out, they tried to charge the entire stay to my card and it was declined. She tried to refuse me a room. I was told that I should have been there at 3pm check in time and there would have been no issue. When I said I would call their corporate office, she changed her tune.

Good coffee but while you were getting your breakfast the cook stared at everyone through the door window. Alot of people were saying it creeped them out. Employee's seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. Sign not visible from the road the direction we came in and alot of black hairs were all over the bed sheets.

Pros: Celebrated my 6th anniversary with my husband. And we had a great experience staying here. The staff were nice and all smiles. Our room had a very clean smell to it when we first opened the door. The room itself and the bathroom was clean. The pillows and beds were so soft. The t.v. was huge. Breakfast was good. The pool was nice. And you can't beat the price. We highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again.

Cons: I stayed 4 nights and NO HOT water in sink and only tepid water in the shower. The bath tub was in bad shape. I notified Front Desk staff (Akeehla) but nothing was done.....she was rude and told me it wasn't her fault that maintenance didn't fix when I followed up.

Cons: The place is a nightmare. Very dirty and piled with trash. I was locked out of my room with my son until 1am because the door was broken and they would not help me. There was a man beating his girlfriend in the parking lot, and getting high.

Cons: I would give this hotel 0 rating. Our room was not the room pictured at all. It was dirty and smelled bad. The air conditioner did not work and it was very hot, in the 90's outside. There is only one light that worked. There was not a hairdryer, ironing board, the tub was unusable because there was no way to stop it up to hold water, shower walls were dirty. Breakfast was nasty. The staff that attended the breakfast was extremely rude and non-responsive to questions. The food was also bad. They had everyone sharing an open gallon of milk for breakfast. We paid over $444.00 for 3 nights but left after the second night because it was so bad.I wanted to leave after the first. We chose this hotel because it was a Best Western and had always been pleased with others we stayed at ,not this time! Ruined our entire trip! The only positive note was one employee that worked the check in desk that was very nice and appeared to be the only one that knew anything or cared if customers were taken care of, her name was Mona.

Cons: Just about everything. Everything is OLD and rundown. The bedsheets were clean but you can tell the mattresses are really, really old. Not comfortable at all. The room has a very, very funky odor to it like stale feet that lingered the whole night. I wanted to go swimming but the size of the indoor pool was tiny. The doors are hard to open and shut. The mini fridge doesn’t even get cold, so what’s the point? The way the tv and cable is setup is really odd which could make it difficult to operate for some people. The free breakfast was decent.

Cons: The hotel is sitting on its laurels because of their location. Very dated although they are renovating (we think our room may have been somewhat) the renovations are sporadic and poor workmanship. Room was musky, tub drained slowly, toilet was poorly installed and rocked side to side, furniture in room was old and very marked up and the mattress was not very comfortable. We said we would never stay there again even if we need to pay more at one of the other locations. Buyer beware :(
