The property location was excellent very central easy to locate obviously during COVID-19 staff followed guidelines according to the government at the time of booking I thought I would struggle being a frontline worker but I managed to book easily, even when I emailed staff the reply was fast and attentive. The room was lovely roomy and clean. staff were very pleasant polite and nothing was a bother to them 10/10 definitely would stay again thank you again for a lovely stay during the crazy pandemic.
I liked everything about the property
considering the virus, everyone did great
It was hard to make a full assessment as we visited during "lockdown" and EVERYWHERE was operating different. But the the staff and the hotel was very nice and the best as made of a awful situation. Instead of a dining room there was breakfast to go which we take back to our rooms.
Being in a lock down situation throughout the UK so this was not holiday Inns fault.
First time staying at a pet friendly hotel. Brought my little miniature Dachshund with me and he really enjoyed it. Great sized communal area, with lots of space to have a drink from the little bar and relax, also enjoyed the comfortable sofa in my room with a little table to eat and use my laptop whilst sitting comfortably.
The food from the "restaurant" was absolutely disgusting. I ordered the "Dirty Burger" which is a bacon cheese burger with at around 6:30pm so prime evening time for a meal. The burger was a microwave burger that was clearly cooked a long time ago then reheated as it was hard and chewy around the edges and bad texture. The chips and onion rings were clearly frozen and tasted like they come from a Tesco or Iceland bag, the bun was rock hard and the cheese was also hard. It was without exaggeration the worst meal I've ever had in a hotel and I can honesty say I could have made better myself at home. They really need to address this as it was bland, hard, stale, clearly reheated with frozen chips and onion rings. For £16 it was absolutely pathetic, considering I could get a fresh steak or fish at a restaurant nearby for that price. The floor was a little dirty in my room but perhaps this was to be expected as I was in one of the allocated pet friendly rooms, that's fine.
Stayed here several times and find it a perfect location for getting into Edinburgh.
Property is being extended and therefore there was no parking spaces left so had to park and leave the car in the multi storey car park opposite.
