Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with etihad again."

If the auto machines are not working surely one desk could have been provided for luggage drop-off."

She needed assistance boarding and disembarking and they were very helpful and courteous and that's why I choose Virgin over the other airline that flies the same route."

A gentlemen in my row turned around to request that the children seated behind him not bang and bump the back of his seat. After 3 such requests a fight almost broke out between adults. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this on a flight. I myself got no rest on the 3 hr flight to Cairns."

The staff both at the Coffs Habour airport, and the co-ordinator of customer complaints all talk about non liability, but refuse to show me a document that shows they are not liable. I have looked through all documents that I signed before I took the flight, and there is nothing in them to suggest that the airline does not need to compensate me in this case. The airline staff has been deceptive, in that the ground staff tried to get rid of me with giving me the travel conditions document with something highlighted that had no relevance to the incident. When she gave me the document she folded it, thinking I would not look at it til later. I did look at it straight away, confronted her with the irrelevance of the highlighted paragraph. She just shrug her shoulders and advised I should write to customer care. She then gave me the wrong email address. Virgin has consistently shown me no respect by not showing me their non coverage clause in any written material."

I understand this is not something the airline can manage but here should be standards for boarding passengers. It is difficult situation I realise, but I was across the isle from a person with incredibly poor personal hygiene and the smell was almost unbearable."
Pros: "Have a pinched nerve that is causing loss of fine motor skills in my left hand a great pain. I am 6'5" and can't make myself any smaller. Despite informing a crew member of my medical condition, they made no effort to be careful when they came through the cabin. I thought sitting in the bulkhead right behind first class it would limit the traffic but the aisle was used heavily and with the first class aisle being more inline with my seat than the aisle for the rest of the plane, the attendants literally ran into me constantly causing me much pain."

However, when a couple asked for something different for religious reasons, they were given another meal. I have been a vegetarian for 16 years, but apparently ethics means nothing when compared to religion. Staff were not sympathetic at all, and we went without a meal, after paying a lot of money for the flight, and checking in advance that there would be vegetarian food. Gelatine is not vegetarian."

I tried to do it online, but wouldn't accept my payment. Got to airport, long line, tried to use kiosk to complete check in, wouldn't allow me to. Waited in line, only to be told I had a payment due and had to go to service desk. My friend was checking in with me, and did not have to pay for luggage. Meanwhile the gate agent changed her mind, said she could accept my payment there, then we had to go through the exercise of lightening our carry ons (which we had made heavier to avoid excess baggage fee). So I ended up paying for bags, friend did not, yet we had the same bags/weights. Flight was delayed 15 minutes per the kiosk, when asked gate agent, she said it was not, but in reality it was. not a pleasant experience, policies not clear and not uniformly enforced. Flight itself was ok. I probably will not fly Jetstar again."

While that seems nice, it's clear it's a bogus charge if rules don't need to be followed. One flight the baggage fee was $50, another was $160 - with these costs included they are actually more expensive than other airlines. Took an international flight and all food and drinks on the flight had to be purchased, pretty ridiculous that the airline does not include water over a three hour travel time."

The airline worker at the counter said mentioned "yeah this happens to foreigners all the time"...which makes it pretty blatantly a targeting scheme on foreigners who have no choice but to pay the inflated bag fees."

Cons: "where to begin... 1) $455 in baggage charges. yes, you read that right. 2 tickets cost $150. bags cost $450. absurd. enough said. we were connecting from an international flight, 2 adults and a toddler. it's not like we had an obscene amount of luggage. 2) so i tried to buy an extra seat (we were traveling with our 23-month old son)... buying an extra ticket and baggage allowance with it would have cost $100 less than the baggage charge with 2 tickets. But they would not allow this. 3) they would, however, block the seat next to us for free, so it would remain empty for my son. So we were not allowed to buy it, but they would keep it free for us. 4) we get on the plane, and the seat next to us is not blocked... someone else sits in it. if the plane is full, that makes perfect sense... but the plane wasn't full.. there were 20 empty seats. 5) so my son is unhappy because he wants his own seat, we're crammed into a full row... and there's a completely empty row behind us. So I ask the flight attendant if we can move. She says no, not until after take-off... first person to get there wins. Really? So, thank you but no thank you to jet star. at every opportunity they might have had to make our trip easier... they failed. miserably."
