We had to pay an unexpected $320 on the day of flight. It was ridiculous and while we were boarding the flight attendants held us up again bc we had not paid the fee. But we tried to pay the fee at the front desk the first time and then we paid it at the gate and then boarded last on the plane. It was awful. The staff did not know anything and we were not treated great. Super unprofessional and disappointed at Kayak for not laying out all the costs ahead of me."

We photographed and sent through passport details. We phoned the booing site, we phoned Virgin, we were put on hold for 25 mins while the booking site phoned Virgin - but Virgin refused to help us out! My husband was not able to board the flight - no refund, no help - and the sad part was, it wasn't for a holiday - it was to visit and help his 87yr old father-in-law who had fallen and cracked his spine. No sympathy from Virgin, VERY DISAPPOINTED!"

So late had to walk to the domestic terimal, in a hurry. Finally found the check-in, checked all 3 bags, arrived in Queenstown, only two came in."

The time flew because by the time the movie had finished, we were starting to descend. I will always look for this flight with Emirates. There is no other flight in comparison, in what you get for your Buck. I believe that other Airlines, ie., Qantas, Virgin Aust, both give you a flight and service, for nearly the same fare but you only get 7kg luggage, no meal just the basic entitlement, tea/coffe/water with a biscuit or something like that and NO ENTERTAINMENT, NO COMPARISON!!!!"

Cons: "There was an incident prior to take off where a passenger in first class had to be removed from the plane. Though it’s certainly not the airlines fault that there was an issue with a passenger, they should’ve been a lot more transparent and gave us a lot more information on what exactly was going on other then “we need to go back to a special area to get this passenger off.” Couple that with the security checks to “make sure there is nothing on the plane that shouldn’t be” and very little explanation of what actually occurred, it made for a very stressful flight. Not knowing if this passenger had made any kind of threat against the plane, or safety of other passengers... etc, it was very hard to feel safe for the remainder of my trip being left in the dark as the incident occurred in first class."

Two of the meal voucher choices Cozi & Burger King had gone out of business!"

Cons: "This is my fourth time booking Emirates for my route through kayak. The route is longer but I choose it for on-board Internet for work emails. Generally, they have on-board WiFi Internet, however for my return route of 21 hours both flights had no wifi which was disappointing. This is unprofessional because if you are planning on having WiFi to respond to work emails and it is not available once you are already in the air there is nothing you could do but get stuck. Never does this happen with Lufthansa, Turkish, Etihad. Disappointing."

We had all of the documentation that we were told to have by our friends and by travel agents... Emirates did not accept this and did not let us travel and refused to refund or change our tickets. Had they told the Indian woman to drive or swim to Dubai, the ratings would've have been excellent. I did not pay good money to have to sit in a NURSERY!!!!!"

Flight attendants needed to offer pens for customs forms."

Cons: "I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales.In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly."

Cons: "You have to pay extra for everything. Even though it’s an eight hour flight there is no food, drink or entertainment included. They do have screens at the back of each seat but it’s $10 to watch a limited selection. The food and drink are expensive. It gets cold in the plane but you guessed it if you ask for a blanket you have to buy a $20 “comfort pack”. So be prepared!"

The flight, well, as always, the flight was delayed for no reason, no explanations, no apologies, nothing 3. Comfort.... the Airbus A321 is a good airframe, other airlines engage seat manufactures with comfort in mind... nope.. not jetstar 4. Food. What food??? Was there any food?? nope.. there was a bag of nuts and some chips... 5. Entertainment. Well, I had fun listening to the cabin crew moan about passengers, so that was entertaining.. NEVER AGAIN"

Cons: "First and last time I will ever fly with Jetstar. Flight delayed 2 hours. Flight 30 minutes late taking off. Cramped as H.E double L. Circled around the southern alps with a warning that we may not be able to land in Queenstown due to the hot conditions. Eventually announced they definitely couldn't land in Queenstown and would divert. Spent an hour on the tarmac in Christchurch and finally announced it was cool enough to land in Queenstown. Arrived 7 hours after the booked arrival time, along with a further 2.5 hours drive home. Missed a planned social function. Never, ever again. Even if they offered free flights. NEVER."

Cons: "After nearly one hour in line then we are charged $75 prr baggage and to pay for it we had to go yet in another line. All this cost us a lot of delays and we almost missed our flight. Even though we were at the airport almost 2 hours before flight time. Check in process was extremely old fashion. Been on the plane we won’t even asked for food so I am not sure what with the system there either we have to pre-buy the food or something else that we weren’t made aware of. And we had to pay for our own water."

Cons: "Seats were very uncomfortable, felt very straight and no real headrest; even though it was a new plane. Quite a lot of families with young children flying, it was the last domestic flight out so expected it to be less children. It was a bit noisy at times."

Cons: "Buy luggage online! When we bought our tickets, the price per bag online was $15-25 pending the weight and size of the bags for checked luggage. Most airlines give you one checked bag for free, but whatever. $50 for two bags is not a huge deal. What I didn't know, and they didn't specify, is that was the online only price. When I got to the airport, they quoted me $225 for 2 bags! 225!! Both bags were around 40lbs each. Then they told us that if each bag weighed 6lbs less, the price would be $120. Let's just say our carryons ended up getting packed to the brim... And they still charged us $120. Ridiculous."

Nevertheless, when I tried to purchase the checked bag, I was misdirected twice and separate scales were 7kilos apart! Thus my “budget airfare” from Sydney to Coolangatta was $94, my checked bag in the other direction cost $124! This was the only hiccup, but the bag check process was unnecessarily expensive, unwieldy, and confusing."

We were told by the Jetstar employee on the flight from from Auckland that there was no checked baggsge requested Not likely from our end because we had 8 flights in a 3 week period. We had our bags weighed at special services and was told we were limited to 15 kg for a checked bag. One bag supposedly weighed on that scale 17.6 kg but the same bag showed it weighed 13.9 kg when we checked it in. We were forced to pay $70 per bag for a total of $140. We need a refundnd immediately. Funny, on the return trip to Auckland our tickets showed 1 checked bag per passenger and we'were limited to 20 kg per bag on Jetstar. How can an airline operate this way. Your survey is ridiculous because you ask for ratings on nonapplicable items. ."
Cons: "Just because we bought the luggage at the airport instead of online they charged us MORE THAN FOUR TIMES THE PRICE for our luggage. It ended up being more than the cost of two return flights combined!!!! Avoid Jetstar like the plague that they are."

Cons: "Food options aren't great or cheap, but it's a budget airline so what do you really expect? Same goes for baggage. 7kg carry-on isn't a lot but prepare for it properly and you'll have no problems - you can't complain when you're charged for being a few kilos over."
Cons: "The staff were quite rude I asked for 3 hours for my screen to be fixed so I could sleep. A hostess stepped on my foot an swore and did not apologise or acknowledge anything. The seats were cramped. I will not be flying with Jetstar on an international flight again or local if I can avoid it."

Cons: "Had to pay a surcharge for bags that was not clear at the time of booking, was supposed to be "per bag" but the airline did us a favor and only charged us for one bag. While that seems nice, it's clear it's a bogus charge if rules don't need to be followed. One flight the baggage fee was $50, another was $160 - with these costs included they are actually more expensive than other airlines. Took an international flight and all food and drinks on the flight had to be purchased, pretty ridiculous that the airline does not include water over a three hour travel time."

Cons: "Payed $90 online to choose my seat, but was denied it at boarding, no refund. the cabin is freezing cold and they make you pay $10 for the little blanket, but actually they deny it to you on board if you didn't pay online (I laughed out loud because that is total nonsense). they charge $4 for the coffee... No big deal. But besides those little details, it's an overall unpleasant experience and even a bit sinister they way they cut corners. They seem to be cutting corners on safety with their taxiway and parking procedures much like Ryanair. I was swiftly reprimanded for taking some perfectly innocent photos of the plane (like every holiday goer does), because the pilot didn't want any 'trouble'. Whatever the reason for that immediately defensive reaction, it's not a good sign. jetstar has a bad record of safety as we all know."

Cons: "The Jetstar checkin staff. They are not very friendly. I was a few kilos overweight and I had nothing but grief from them - as well as my purse put on the scales - which added to the weight. I have never had my purse put on the scales before. I ended up having to pay $160.00 Australian for a few kilos. My fare did not even cost that much. As far as I am concerned Jetstar need a watchdog to take this up on travellers behalf. How can a few filos cost that much - when you can book your luggage through for $25.00."
