Cons: "Even though I supplied my frequent flyer number when booking, it was not linked to my booking. That means a whole lot of time chasing up getting my flight added to my frequent flyer account. The Virgin website is at times frustrating and non-functional especially in regards to the link between it and the Velocity frequent flyer programme."

Cons: "Stewards missed serving me twice. I pressed call button and was ignored. Kids meal and vegetarian preferences were ignored. Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with etihad again."

Cons: "Automatic ticketing for the baggage drop was not working and signed as such by the airport staff (i.e. so they were aware of the malfunction). I had to wait around to for an hour before the counter opened and one could check bags the old way which meant I (& everyone else on the flight) had to stand around with luggage. If the auto machines are not working surely one desk could have been provided for luggage drop-off."
Cons: "We had to pay $200 for luggage for over 23kg but under 32kg, usually other airlines let us travel with sports gear for free under 32kg."

Pros: "My Mum has mild dementia and was going to Sydney from Maroochydore to visit family. From check in at MCY to arrival back at MCY the staff looked after her very well. She needed assistance boarding and disembarking and they were very helpful and courteous and that's why I choose Virgin over the other airline that flies the same route."
Cons: "Terrible take off and landing. No screen on seat back. Crew handling of problems not good. Ground crew not ready. No advice of 25 min late arrival. Worst flight by Virgin ever."
Pros: "It was an efficient 1.25 hour flight. No frills. Quick refreshments were served. It was expected and I was perfectly happy with the service."

Cons: "This flight was full with many families with small children. The parents exercised almost no control over their rambunctious children. A gentlemen in my row turned around to request that the children seated behind him not bang and bump the back of his seat. After 3 such requests a fight almost broke out between adults. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this on a flight. I myself got no rest on the 3 hr flight to Cairns."

Cons: "Food, especially for vegetarian is not good. All meals come with a bag with hard bread and apple! No Salad or decent desert with meal... AVML food is horrible, tried VML and that too was bad! No snacks like pretzels, chips or peanuts, so for vegetarian only choice is to stay hungry! Crew was not that friendly."

Cons: "Lack of signposting/ difficulty of obtaining information about location of terminal for departure. Our ticket had us flying Las Vegas to Los Angeles/Los Angeles to Sydney. Information about appropriate terminal/gate in LA was difficult to find and conflicting resulting in long walks and retracing steps. Would probably make me pay extra & fly Qantas again next time where the change of planes is usually streamlined."

The flight attendant told me they don't usually give out headphones on my particular flight, however 15 minutes into the flight she walked past and had a pair for me to use. I was really impressed by the level of service and the fact she remembered where I was sitting. Great customer experience!"
Pros: "second time flying with Virgin. Had a great experience the first time so i choose specifically to fly with Virgin Australia knowing that it was going to be a long flight. I wanted the comfort and i knew i would have it with Virgin. they delivered, thank you Virgin."

Cons: "My new baggage arrived damaged, a zipper was torn open and items missing. The staff both at the Coffs Habour airport, and the co-ordinator of customer complaints all talk about non liability, but refuse to show me a document that shows they are not liable. I have looked through all documents that I signed before I took the flight, and there is nothing in them to suggest that the airline does not need to compensate me in this case. The airline staff has been deceptive, in that the ground staff tried to get rid of me with giving me the travel conditions document with something highlighted that had no relevance to the incident. When she gave me the document she folded it, thinking I would not look at it til later. I did look at it straight away, confronted her with the irrelevance of the highlighted paragraph. She just shrug her shoulders and advised I should write to customer care. She then gave me the wrong email address. Virgin has consistently shown me no respect by not showing me their non coverage clause in any written material."

Cons: "Flight was late leaving and then over an hour late into destination so was late for work and an important meeting missed. The flight was full of very smelly passengers. I understand this is not something the airline can manage but here should be standards for boarding passengers. It is difficult situation I realise, but I was across the isle from a person with incredibly poor personal hygiene and the smell was almost unbearable."
Pros: "Have a pinched nerve that is causing loss of fine motor skills in my left hand a great pain. I am 6'5" and can't make myself any smaller. Despite informing a crew member of my medical condition, they made no effort to be careful when they came through the cabin. I thought sitting in the bulkhead right behind first class it would limit the traffic but the aisle was used heavily and with the first class aisle being more inline with my seat than the aisle for the rest of the plane, the attendants literally ran into me constantly causing me much pain."
Cons: "The only vegetarian food option contained gelatine, and when I asked for something different, I was told that they 'don't do that'. However, when a couple asked for something different for religious reasons, they were given another meal. I have been a vegetarian for 16 years, but apparently ethics means nothing when compared to religion. Staff were not sympathetic at all, and we went without a meal, after paying a lot of money for the flight, and checking in advance that there would be vegetarian food. Gelatine is not vegetarian."
