Cons: "The seat I reserved paying additional dollars to have no one in front of me is bad. The table has little stability and the space that one acquires to stretch the legs is dangerously occupied by food carts that pass very close. The seats are tight. And the great kindness of the crew succumbs to the bad Argentine behavior of occupying the empty seats. On the flight back to Bs.As. many overweight people were overcrowded by the bad luck they had when buying their tickets, however, thin people, who did not pay for better places, were located in an empty seat where, usually, they go familiar with babies and traveled peacefully in a place that did NOT correspond. We all understand that the spaces are small but they should take better care of the passengers and, by common sense, if there are free seats, offer them to those who for physical reasons and their full rows are uncomfortable throughout the trip which, in itself, is very long . I suggest that you put options of Latin Spanish doblabas movies on the flights you make from Buenos Aires to Auckland. FLY NZ30 on February 28 th"

Cons: "Ground personnel could have been way more helpful. We came back from Europe and needed to take a domestic flight to Palmerston North.We had a lot of handluggage that was allowed in our international flight, we had purchased an extra suitcase ticket to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. The lady that helped us was not willing to include any more items than 1 small suitcase that weighed only 11 kg, but we had paid for 23 kg. When we wanted to board the airplane we were told we could only take 7 kg each. Which caused problems and stress that we couldn't use after a 40-hour flight from Europe. We discussed this with the lady at the counter which wasn't really helpful to start with, but eventually, she let us board the plane anyway after we had to explain our situation a few times, and after she asked us to weigh our extra items, which of course we're more than 7 kg. We were pleased that at least she let us board our plane in the end. Hopefully next time we won't encounter the same problems."

Pros: "Seats rows seemed to be more distance apart than other airlines. Flight was actually done by Air New Zealand rather than Cathay Pacific. Check in at Auckland airport was very quick and highly automated, however, our gate was not posted till one hour before the flight, so we did not know where was the best place to sit and wait."

Cons: "We booked our tickets and chose our seats and nowhere did it warn or tell us that we were located in a ‘safety row’ where the arm rest would not fold up. So we could not stretch out during our 12 hr flight. This was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had on the multiple trips I have done between USA and Australia or New Zealand. The seat ordering from the kitchen was rarely available, even after the flight attendants had finished food service and pick up. The flight attendants weren’t very friendly."
Cons: "Not clear that I wouldn't be able to check a bag for my return flight. I flew to New Zealand with a large bag and then when I went to check in for my return flight they told me I couldn't check it to bring it back and my only option was to cargo it, which was not helpful being that the cargo was out of the airport and I needed to catch my flight. I was luckily able to check it on a separate flight my boyfriend was going on. But I would have either have had to leave my bag or miss my flight if he hadn't been there. It should have been more apparent that I wouldn't have been able to check it on the way back. It makes no sense to be able to bring a bag to New Zealand and not bring it back. That was very frustrating and overall I was very disappointed with this experience."

There,was no option during booking to make a,seat selection. This was also true for the LA to Auckland outbound leg. This is an area needing improvenent."
Cons: "We were late arriving, the cabin crew although they were pleasant, didn’t do enough to allow the passengers to get off first, for the connecting flight. Malaysian airlines stayed in the runway, fixing an engine and the pilot said they were delaying the plane, driving in for passengers to disembark. After being told by cabin crew that a number of us were late for connecting flight, that they were going to wait for us, they didn’t and we were told we had missed the flight. We were kindly put on the next flight which wasn’t until five hours later. Unrealistic scheduling causes is to miss our flight and had us sitting at the airport for four hours, making it an unnecessarily long day. Not impressed."

The air New Zealand part was all great plane boarding etc, the horrible part is that we bought baggage allowances with virgin and they never transferred the information to air New Zealand. So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

After 10 minutes of maneuver, I decided to ask a flight attendant to help me figure out what happened to my seat. I pressed the button asking for attendant and waited for 5 minutes, no response. So I pressed the button again. IT showed that I had already pressed the button. So I kept waiting. But then no one ever came for me the 9 hours until it was time for the meal before getting off. Sitting straight sleeping was a really terrible experience!"

I had the same meal twice it was very sad meal for 17.5 hrs with no snacks offered either. My partner and another man were forgotten as the meal rounds were being done. The crew seemed a little disorganised. The adverts on the entertainment were annoying."

Cons: "I was not allowed onto this flight (Dubai to Hong Kong) because my previous flight (London to Dubai) was a little late, but I made it to the gate before it was closed. My fellow passengers from my flight were also not allowed onto the plane, and while we were arguing (including being told that the plane was full) other passengers from an even later flight were allowed on board! Instead I had to wait many hours in the terminal (because apparently there were no hotel rooms available!?) to get a flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (!!!?) where I could get a Cathay flight to Hong Kong. This meant I arrived 14 hours later than scheduled. Absolutely abysmal service, with no sympathy and no responsibility from any employees."

The attendants seemed to come around more often and there was a much better food selection for everyone involved. Overall, I found the flight to be safe, mostly comfortable, and the food was excellent."
Cons: "I had a family sitting next to me (I was in the aisle) and I felt that while the attendants were courteous and prompt in accommodating me, they all but ignored the people in the middle seats. I had to keep asking them on the attendant's behalf if they needed anything before they rushed on by. At one point the father told me that he was getting better service from me than the attendants. Also, one of the TV screens didn't work in one of the middle seats so the family had to do a switcharoo with their little one after they got settled so their son could have the working screen. I personally found that it was very difficult to recline my seat - I really had to quite literally put my back into it to get it to click into the reclining position."

Cons: "i had a surfboard bag that weighed 11lbs and my daughter had a surfboard bag that weighed 21 lbs and we are being charged $200 each both ways for a total charge of $800 round trip. This is an outragous fee for surfboard and other airlines specificly Alaskian Air, Quanties, and Virgin Australia have been letting us travel with surfboard bags for free that weight 3 times that much. I will never take Cathay Pacific again as we paid more for these flights because we had heard they do not charge for surfboard and they have great service. I had a total of $1200 fspending money for food and transportation for my trip to Bali. That leaves me with $400. Never again will I travel with Cathay Pacific and I will be spreading the word through social Media! Not a Happy Customer!!!"
Pros: "The service from start to finish was superb. The flight to Hong Kong had the on board attendants at full service the whole journey. Blankets and pillows were supplied as standard and plenty of complimentary food. There was a genuine sense that the on board attendants wanted you to be as comfortable as possible."

Cons: "What other snack options available other than Ramen Noodles. Maybe a low carb option is needed. There are some noodles made from soy products and these will be low carbohydrate. Seats in economy are ok for short people. All airlines should designate an infant seating area close to toilets. This way all infants will be restricted to these seats and the noise pollution in the aircraft is restricted to a small section of the ship.these seats can be specially configured to either seat a no rmal adult or a fast attachments for a baby carrier."

I am a pure vegetarian & in all my flight the crew made sure that I got the correct food tray & it was not mixed with wrong mean (non veg.) by mistake. Unlike other flight where meal is just an obligation, Cathay made sure that the taste was very nice too. Full points to them. The quality of seats was good & nice leg space as well. Overall the experiance was very pleasant & I highly recommend Cathay Pacific."

You were so obsessed with your own self interests that the general safety of your fellow passengers was not important. That must have been some email that you had to keep typing even as the plane was pulling away from the gate. So important in fact that you didn't touch your laptop for another two+ hours. But you did get it out again and proceeded to pull the same stunt as we descended. Stunning behaviour. I enjoyed how you convinced the crew to put your laptop in the overhead bin both times. I believe the clincher was the four carry on bags you had with you. Priceless. Guess you should be grateful you weren't on a US domestic flight. But I'm sure you would have turned the story away from you and on to the crew."

Cons: "The plane was extremely outdated - I felt like I stepped into a time capsule and somehow made it back to the late 80's. The seats were hard plastic, 21st century headphones didn't properly work because their inputs required two jacks instead of the now standard one, half of the seat belt had what can only be described as a fun noodle attached around it, and instead of the seat back reclining the actual seat just slid outwards, making you slouch instead of recline. While the staff was lovely, I honestly can't believe airplanes like this are still in commission. All it was missing was an ash tray in the arm rest."

The flight attendants were also really conscientious but also discrete about making sure that things were comfortable to passengers, for example making sure that windows were closed most of the time and lights were down so that people could sleep in between meals, and moving someone that was sick to a more comfortable and private seat, both for the sake of the sick individual and for the comfort of the people that had initially been sitting around them. -The complementary movie options were great and really helped pass the time on the 24+hr flight from NYC to Western Australia. -1 free large checked bag, which was very nice. -I think the complementary food and snacks were really yummy and generous, for airline food. I very much enjoyed the meals and snacks. Also, the complementary wine was a nice treat and tasted surprisingly good. -The complementary pillows and blankets were nice, warm, and soft. -The flights were on time, much better than American airlines that I've flown on. -The bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the flight and were much cleaner and nicer smelling than other airlines that I've been on."
Cons: "The only thing thing that could really be improved upon (which is not as much the airline's fault as the plane manufacturer's fault) is that the economy seats and cabin layout could be more comfortable for long flights. I understand how hard it must be to design a plane that fits that many people and that's comfortable for 24+hrs of flying, but a few improvements could relatively easily be made I think, which would improve the experience dramatically: -If the seats were softer (and perhaps more ergonomically designed with an average person's shape in mind) it would make a world of difference, I think. -Being able to put the arm up on the wall side of the window seat would make it much more comfortable. -Padding on the arms would also help. -Of course more leg space and wider seats would make a world of difference, but I know that is tough to do since space is limited."

The transfer station at E2 was hard to find - more signs or better directions from personnel would have helped. This was in contrast to the exceptional treatment I received from CP when I was making my close connection in Hong Kong on the way from Bangkok to Fukuoka. The lady helped escort me through the airport to make sure I caught my flight and had been waiting there as I exited the plane -- that was fantastic but in sharp contrast to my experience on the return segments."
Pros: "The crew did what they could to keep their moral up. Chinese airports are famous for always being late, and now I've experienced it. I don't think it was Cathay's fault. The layover arrangements in Hong Kong were handled brilliantly by the airport crew. Transportation was provided to the hotel, the hotel was the nicest I've stayed at in China and they weren't confused by everyone showing up (as often happens on layovers). The new boarding passes and cab voucher were provided cheerfully and everything was clearly explained by attentive people."
Cons: "There was a horrendous delay getting out of BJ. The captain was clearly distraught and very apologetic, bu what can you do when, after two 1-hr delay periods, traffic control says it may be as much as three hours more? The cabin crew were already clearly tired at the beginning of the event, and I'm sure it was all they could do to keep us all together."
Pros: "I have never flown in a plane before due to an acute fear of flying. Upon boarding I felt sick, worried and confused and I had no idea of where I was going. I was cordially greeted by a smiling flight attendant who I am quite sure seen the discomfort and stress I was feeling. She warmly greeted me and I am sorry to say that my responds was only to show her my ticket hoping for some direction as to where I should go. I truly expected her to just point me in the general direction of my seat and send me on my way to fair on my own. She read my ticket and politely asked me to follow her. She brought me right to my seat and opened the overhead cargo space and carefully placed my carry on in the space above. Once seated I felt a little more comfortable and much less stressed. Prior to our take off the staff gave all the passengers general safety directions and shown us very clearly the exits. My flight was a scheduled fifteen hour flight during which I had a few general questions such as where is the bathroom and if it would be ok if I stretched my legs, etc. I had no problem getting the attention of the flight crew as one or more were always available and each of my questions were answered very professional by a very well trained staff. As I said, this was a fifteen hour flight and each time I looked up I seen a flight attendant busy with other passengers or preparing something such as drinks or food for the passengers. Not once did I see one of them just loitering or gathered in a corner talking to one another. I can not say that one flight attendant was more attentive then another because I did speak to a few of them on different occasions and found each of them professional and attentive to my needs. I was so relaxed by mid flight that I did manage to sleep and any anxiety I felt upon boarding left me entirely. My return flight was greeted by the same professionalism except this time I felt no anxiety about boarding and flying. Everyone to whom I met treated me as if I was traveling first class and really helped me overcome a very serious fear. I truly have nothing but praise and highly recommend your airline to my friends. Next year a very good friend of mine who experiences the same fear I had will be flying your airline to Hong Kong upon my recommendation and experience. I truly would like to thank everyone for a most pleasant experience and I am happy to say I will be seeing you all in the very near future. Thank you,"

I couldn't understand why they served us a hot meal when we got on the plane. Anyone boarding at 11:30 pm should have already eaten, at that point you just want to sleep, not wait another two hours for food to be served and the trays cleaned up."
