Cons: Continental breakfast was part of the deal but all we got was two cups of coffee and that to not even 12oz! Pretty pathetic! There was no "gift shop" or "emergency supplies" offered at the hotel (you do tend to forget a toothbrush). For the price, I would have rather paid $10 more and stayed at a nicer hotel & I will do so the next time around.

Pros: It was a very pleasant experience. The staff very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded upon arrival to a lovely king suite which was a lovely bonus. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen. We stay in Victoria a few times a year and will now be staying at the Royal Scott. Also this hotel is very quiet. Something you don't always find staying downtown Victoria.

The curteousy car was a pleasant surprise and nice to have available both to pick you up and also to take you places. It is very close to the harbor and the ferry coming from Port Angles.

Pros: Extremely attractive hotel with perfect location by the waterfront. Easy walking distance all over town. We enjoyed our room overlooking the harbor. Gracious, helpful staff. We were happy with the Courtyard Cafe, which provided good sandwiches, coffee, and dessert for low-key suppers. Island Time Tours, booking right there in the Grand Pacific, took us to Butchart Gardens and picked us up again at our requested time. What a very nice arrangement. When it was time to leave Victoria, we chose the Victoria Airport YYJ Shuttle as more economical than a taxi. The Shuttle arrived at the front door and delivered us to the airport comfortably and in good time. We were happy in every way with our four nights at the Grand Pacific and would gladly stay there again.

Pros: We booked a Fairmont Gold room based on another recommendation and boy was it worth it. The private lounge is spectacular, the concierges were all extraordinary (and made a big difference helping us maximize our 2 nights in Victoria) and the food and drink (including a fully-stocked honor bar) were fabulous. We felt like royalty.

Cons: We got a knock on our door after 9pm for turn down service which normally wouldn't be a problem but our children were sleeping at the time.

Cons: Not up to the standards of other Fairmont Hotels we've stayed in. They messed up our meal reservations and even messed up the correction, so we never did eat there. Some staff really didn't seem to know what they were doing or could even answer or questions properly and never offered to find anything our or get back to us.

Pros: This hotel is remarkable. I am at the Four Seasons in Vancouver right now but the Delta beats it hands-down. The contemporary look is completely attractive and I've never had a hotel room so organized with a place for everything. Great food in the restaurant. The location is perfect on the water, and just a few minutes walk into the heart of Victoria. Also they have a free shuttle that get you to places you want to go.

The Westbay walkway along the harbour is great for a walk, jog, taking in the scenery. Our room was quiet, very clean and comfortable. The workout area is well set up, and the sauna was perfect for a mid-winter warm-up.

Pros: I loved being able to walk over a bridge into downtown Victoria to shop and see the sights and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and the sight of the parliament buildings all lit up. I loved that the hotel upgraded me to a view room (for only a small cost) and didn't make me feel like a complainer because I was disappointed initially to not have a window to the ocean. The pool was wonderful and I would love to bring my daughters and their babies to enjoy the luxury and friendliness of this hotel.

Pros: The ocean view, the friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk, the proximity to the Fisherman's Wharf (we discovered it during this stay and found it fascinating and fun...), the proximity to the harbor pathway behind the hotel, the secure underground parking for a reasonable fee, the many brochures and travel information availbale at our fingertip and a map of the city and nearby tourist attractions avaliable for us in our room's guest information book. The aromatherapy soaps and lotions as well as the provided housecoat were a nice touch and added to our feeling of being pampered.

Cons: The front desk staff was not rude, but just felt a little dismissive. The concierge is absolutely the wrong guy for the job. Again, not rude, but never smiled in our two interactions with him. He had trouble finding a city map for us. When we asked if the free shuttle could take us to a location, he just said no, but failed to help us try to find out how to get there. Just not the right guy for a job like that.

Cons: Worst: nearly all the pillows smelled of old sweat. We finally requested and received new, unused pillows. Avoiding dry cleaning pillows is not a good cost-cutting measure! Also, waited one hour for breakfast, after two complaints, received it with the explanation that here were "problems in the kitchen." To their credit, the restaurant wait staff seemed embarrassed and comped the breakfast. Another morning we decided to skip the menu and do the $17 buffet, which was MUCH worse that the free buffets you get at budget hotels.

Pros:

Cons: Reserved a room with a king bed. We were traveling from Seattle via the clipper that couldn't sail due to the marine forecast. Once we realized our trip was going to take 7 hours via buss to reach the hotel, I called to notify that we would be arriving late and was assured my room would be ready and that we would have a king bed, not 2 doubles. We arrived at the hotel and no king beds were available. But then the representative said I could upgrade for $40 more per night and beaten down by the 7 hour trip I agreed to pay the fee. Then we get the bill and it was $60 + $4.85 PST + $1.21 MRDT + $3.03 GST. I understand that the taxes are what the are but should have been quoted them and the hotel should have honored the quote made on arrival. I was offered $10 per night discount by the manager but still feel mislead. As a Marriott rewards customer for years and one who has stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, I will not be returning to this property. The maid service was also poor. The room was not vacuumed nor were the sheets ever changed on our 3 night stay. Additionally when we arrived there was left over spoiled food in the fridge. Lastly they did not replace plates and silverware in the kitchenette and when we came back to the room with takeout, we had to eat out of plastic containers. I do not recommend this property. If you are accustom to Marriott service and hospitality, you will not find it here.

Pros: The restaurant was wonderful. The food was so innovative and delicious. The staff was very friendly and offered every opportunity to help. I would definitely stay at this place the next time I'm in Victoria. I really appreciated the fact that it was actually further away from all of the other hotels because it was quiet and peaceful.

Very disappointed the front desk lady keep emphasized that is a ocean view room!!

Cons: When booking a room I received a very difficult person on the phone. I expected the same upon arrival but received a very warm reception. The room next to the elevator was not ideal, however I wouldn't expect that at any hotel. Next time I stay I will request. The furthest rom for the elevator.

The Hotel is within walking distance of the Royal BC Museum, Convention Centre, Parliament Buildings, and IMAX Theater. The world famous Butchart Gardens is only a tour bus or short drive away. Cons: View blocked by windows that were damaged and cloudy. So much for 'Harbor view' and bathroom tile was filthy. Floor under sink was really dirty. There was too much extra furniture in our tiny room making it hard to move around or even get to window.

Cons: I thought there might be enough of a breeze to cool down in the evening, but the noise from the pub below was too loud to leave the window open. It was a day below 25 degrees Celsius and still MUCH too warm in the hotel room (even with the fan provided in the room, which was definitely a very welcomed item!!) The elevator is also an issue ... only 1 elevator and it is extremely small. Unfortunately, I won't be staying again, I will pay a little more and stay elsewhere.

Cons: I'm going to organize this into a list for the sake of readability: - The walls were paper thin. I heard children screaming, neighbors talking, and footsteps. - The bed and pillows just weren't very comfortable. I recommend bringing your own pillow if you like to sleep on your back. - There was no air conditioning, which is not mentioned anywhere in the description. - The doors barely worked. We had to try our keys multiple times and when we expressed our frustration we were told to just try it again with different keys (which also didn't work, because the door sensors weren't good). - We had to attend a particular function and asked if we could change in advance of our check out; and instead of being offered a room (which we had booked!) they told us to change in the rest rooms which were tremendously cramped and filthy (it's shared with two restaurants). Simply put; it's a budget hotel and if they were charging budget prices; I'd understand. But 300 dollars for one night (after tax) seemed a ludicrous price just for the waterfront location (something which other locations seem to have agreed to charge despite substandard offerings). I'm not opposed to being charged 300 dollars for a waterfront room in the core, but I expected better for it.

Pros: A comfortable suite is much better value for the money than a single room. Very clean and well decorated with neutral colours, granite counter... way better than a stark white wall. Bed was comfortable. Location is great, centrally located but not a crazy busy/noisy street. Great walking around James Bay and Fisherman's Wharf. I really, REALLY like that they take dogs too. The suite was super clean, no sign of dogs from other people which I liked (even though I have a dog)!

Pros: On the edge of the James Bay neighborhood, the Oswego is in walking distance to the Parliament, downtown, Chinatown and all the ferry and seaplane services in the inner harbor. Our family of four were very comfortable in the 1BR premium suite. The bistro is great for a cocktail with locals or a morning coffee. The concierge will hold your bags while you walk and shop if you’ve got a late clipper departure. We’ll be back!

Cleaning staff need to work harder as I moved the TV to the dresser to see it better then the low stand it was on and the tv stand was flithy as has not been cleaned in yrs. The coffee maker wasn't clean either as it still had the last guest's filter in the maker rendering it useless to me.

Cons: Room needed an update desperately. Was not too clean either. The double bed became a taco with 2 people in it and was not comfortable at all. The air conditioner was so loud it was super obnoxious, and the heater had a bunch of gunk in it. Really small TV too. Got a deal for $58 a night down from $137 but it wasn't even worth the $58. We stayed at the Econolodge up the road for 3 days prior for less money and the room was much nicer, larger, larger tv, cleaner, and included a continental breakfast. Skip this place and stay at the Econolodge.

Pros: The hotel is not downtown but close. About 5 minutes away by car. My room was clean, spacious, and well stocked with every thing you would want from a hotel room. It was a good price as well.

Pros: I was tired and looking for a quiet rest. When I asked the woman at check-in for a quiet room so I could get some much needed sleep, she said she'd do her best, and she did. My room was quiet and I had 2 nights with good sleep.
