I really love this place! I've stayed on my own a couple of times, but brought my husband with me this time, so we got a larger room. It was much larger than most hotel rooms! I love the style of the place - I always feel like I'm in a Poirot movie! On a practical note, everything is clean and the plumbing all works fine. I love the location, right beside Murchie's Tea and Munro's Books. I've only stayed here during off-season - it might be quite noisy in summer, since it's also right beside pubs with live music. If you like music, then that's a plus!
I wish the pub/restaurant was open for breakfast, but there are lots of other breakfast places nearby, so not a really big issue! The coffee/tea maker worked in the evening, but not the next morning.... We were on our way out, so not a big problem. I'm sure if we stayed longer, it would have been fixed or replaced.
The old hotel character is wonderful. What!? A city hotel with a real wood burning fireplace and water view. Fabulous!
Great Location, friendly staff, clean rooms, close to parking. Love having a fireplace.
Refrigerator didn't work. I booked a supreme queen room with a fireplace and view. The room I was booked into didn't have a working fireplace because of renovations. I preferred the fireplace to a view so was moved which was nice but some monetary compensation would have been appreciated. We did, however, enjoy our stay.
Carpets and decor too dated
The location was simply unbeatable. Travelling with a toddler, we like to be close by things so we can walk around and enjoy a place without exhausting her. The Bedford Regency is as central as it gets and right where you want to be.
