Our traveling party of four are avid walkers. So, the Bedford Regency Hotel was not only close to main attractions and dining near Victoria Harbour, but was also within a twenty to thirty minute walk of many other attractions such as Craigdarroch Castle and many good restaurants. The superior queen rooms were not much more expensive than the standard queen and are quite a bit larger. All three of our rooms had comfortable beds and modern bathroom fixtures. Our two superior queen rooms had views of the harbor where the seaplanes come in and out. The hotel staff was efficient, helpful and friendly. All in all, this is a good place to stay, particularly for the wonderful location.
One downside to a superior queen rooms—assuming they all have the same features—is that there is a large, long sliding door that closes the bathroom sink and tub/shower from the main room which doesn’t move easily and makes noise. Most problematic, however, is that the light for this bathroom area also lights the separate toilet area. So using the toilet at night requires lighting the entire area of the bathroom and the bed. Of course, a person could decide to use the cumbersome and noisy sliding door or to leave the bathroom light off and perhaps use a flashlight to minimize the disturbance to the other sleeper when there are two.
Great location - lots of character! Staff were very helpful.
No vending machine, no microwave in the room, very warm in the room.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The beds were the worst I’ve experienced in a hotel. They felt like old mattresses from pull out couches. The room was very noisy from the bar four floor down. Would not recommend this hotel.
Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is ideally located to be able to walk to all areas.
Slightly dated and needs modernising. The restaurant/bar connected to the hotel that is advertised throughout doesn’t allow minors which was difficult to try and get food with a 7 month old but lots of great places nearby.
Excellent location and staff. Moderately priced.
Bed was moderately comfortable.
