Hotel great, staff OK.
The hotel is a bit out of the downtown area, but still pretty accessible. The location is beautiful looking over the inner bay. An upper floor is suggested. The room was clean and very comfortable.
The front desk staff was not rude, but just felt a little dismissive. The concierge is absolutely the wrong guy for the job. Again, not rude, but never smiled in our two interactions with him. He had trouble finding a city map for us. When we asked if the free shuttle could take us to a location, he just said no, but failed to help us try to find out how to get there. Just not the right guy for a job like that.
Cleanliness and beautiful view. The staff at the front desk were great!!!
Parking was scarce due to an event. Thank goodness for staff to park my care after event.
Nice Stay
I liked that the hotel was close to the water and Fisherman's Wharf. It was clean and the staff was friendly.
It was far from the main downtown core. They do provide a free downtown shuttle on a first come basis until 2300. I believe this hotel would do much better if they had a FREE airport shuttle AND a free continental breakfast. I know I will look for both in a hotel if I return to the area.
Where a great staff is trying to compensate for a
Great location overlooking the entrance to Victoria inner harbor. Very nice and helpful staff. Nicely designed rooms.
Worst: nearly all the pillows smelled of old sweat. We finally requested and received new, unused pillows. Avoiding dry cleaning pillows is not a good cost-cutting measure! Also, waited one hour for breakfast, after two complaints, received it with the explanation that here were "problems in the kitchen." To their credit, the restaurant wait staff seemed embarrassed and comped the breakfast. Another morning we decided to skip the menu and do the $17 buffet, which was MUCH worse that the free buffets you get at budget hotels.
Great place, great food and great taxi service!
The taxi service was fantastic, the room was nice and the staff friendly. I will come back!
Service, location, value, ambiance, shuttle service
Nice hotel, especially for the price
Pretty good location - 10-15 minute walk to empress and downtown. Right next to fisherman's wharf. Good Restaurant.
Nothing.
Waterfront views were wonderful. We especially enjoyed seeing the occassional harbour seal at breakfast. About a 20 minute stroll to the main harbour area.
No real negatives.
Very nice hotel. Breakfast was good too.
Location- could easily walk to harbour or fisherman's warf
lots! dirty - can't see through the windows, no balcony! no view of the harbour, restaurant is a rip off can't even fill your cup with proper coffee in the morning, not child friendly- felt that a child was disturbing .
Construction noise next door

Great location, quiet rooms, modern style, helpful staff.
Quality of equipment and bathrooms
Very friendly and imformative staff. Our room was large with a king bed, good bathroom and small balcony overlooking the inner harbour. The hotel has a great location with a regular water taxi service to the city centre. The Orca Sprit whale watching experience, office and boats are also based at the hotel wharf.
The ocean view, the friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk, the proximity to the Fisherman's Wharf (we discovered it during this stay and found it fascinating and fun...), the proximity to the harbor pathway behind the hotel, the secure underground parking for a reasonable fee, the many brochures and travel information availbale at our fingertip and a map of the city and nearby tourist attractions avaliable for us in our room's guest information book. The aromatherapy soaps and lotions as well as the provided housecoat were a nice touch and added to our feeling of being pampered.
Our room did not get done on the second day of our stay. The very expensive dining-room menu prevented us from using this facility despite a 20% guest rebate on a dinner entree... we found other places to eat within walking distance that provided excellent cuisine, had a menu available for our perusal... something unavailable at this hotel....and where we could eat at a much more reasonable price.
good service and location. nice view.
they need to upgrade their beds.
