Pros: Beatrice, the hotel receptionist is the friendliest and most helpful i have ever met in my entire experience of staying in hotels (and I've stayed in a lot!). She was incredibly friendly and helped us plan much of our weekend (i was over to visit my daughter who now lives in Rome). The shared space and the rooms are beautiful and the location is very central. We will always check availablity of this hotel when booking weekends in Rome in future.

Cons: Only 2 issues. My mini bar was not restocked daily and I would call and not done in timely fashion. My last morning there I had the privacy light in but the maid came in twice waking me up. The gentleman at the front desk made up for it by paying for my bar tab.

Rooms in the new addition are beautiful, especially the bathroom. Our daughter stayed in a nearby hotel, paid much more and was disappointed.

Cons: 1 staff member was undergoing training with actual clients, which seems weird for a 4 star in a major city. Another staff member was on his personal cell phone while with clients and claimed it was a personal emergency not knowing we live in Italy and fully understand/speak Italian...and he was lying. Another staff member yelled at us because we tried to push an automatic door, which was literally installed that same day so we didn't know it was operational yet. Our room was in a separate building a few meters down the sidewalk from the reception/breakfast bldg, and it requires reception to buzz you inside.

Cons: Our room was not very clean when we checked in. We stayed in a suite, and our daughter found some dirty tissues behind the sofa bed. We had breakfast in a restaurant, and I was served cappuccino in a dirty cup, smudged with a lipstick. But as soon as I mentioned to the waiter, he apologized and brought me a new cup. The area is a little bit sketchy at night.

Cons: Hotel is located near the trainstation, a lot of homeless people staying by the hotel fence. They close the gate to the hotel territory late in the evening, when we came from a walk a bit late than midnight, we were just stuck and did not understand how to get it - there is no sign or personell there, no bell and rather dark there. We had to go around the hotel and succeded to get in through the backdoor, which was by chance open (it was locked but sash was not closed). Only in the morning I found something like card reader, perhaps I had to use the room key, but this was not obvious in the evening at all. Rooftop bar also did not impress. Almost empty, no view and overpriced cocktails (15 euros for typical longdrink). No free bottles of water in the room, quite strange for 30+ weather.

Pros: The accommodations were great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is terrific as the Roma Termini is about 10 minutes away and that includes the Metro and bus lines. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon are within 15 - 20 minutes away. The Cellini is expanding from 6 rooms to 12 rooms on two floors with a larger dining facility and balcony area for relaxing in October. We would definitely recommend staying there to our friends and family.

Pros: The accommodations were great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is terrific as the Roma Termini is about 10 minutes away and that includes the Metro and bus lines. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon are within 15 - 20 minutes away. The Cellini is expanding from 6 rooms to 12 rooms on two floors with a larger dining facility and balcony area for relaxing in October. We would definitely recommend staying there to our friends and family.

Bathroom was missing toilet paper. There was trash on the floor by the bathtub. Suspect that the pillows and mattress were old. Allergies went into overdrive during the night. Had to take allergy meds to be able to breath.

The area is amazing - opposite the American Embassy - very safe and nice to walk around. Less than 10 mins walk from The Spanish Steps and the fashion high street if you feel like dropping some serious cash. We booked this place last minute because we weren't satisfied with our initial hotel in Rome and so this was a lovely alternative. Made our stay in this city very memorable.

Cons: Gym closed at 8 pm, I tend to work out later at night. A bit of a hike to the areas we wanted to walk to so we had to take a taxi. One of the elevators was broken and the other was TINY. Honestly that didn't bother me as I tend to walk the stairs, but others may not be too happy.

Pros: We stayed at Augusta Lucilla Palace for five nights on the fifth floor. The room was small but clean and inviting with fabulously comfortable beds and soft linen. You can raise or lower the head of the bed with the remote control and we used this frequently. Double doors opened onto a small balcony providing a lovely breeze. The bathroom was well stocked and the shower pressure was just right. The sixth level has a roof top terrace with lounge chairs. The staff are wonderful. Always helpful and friendly. Jayson attended to our needs at buffet breakfast and he was so friendly and considerate. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a wide variety of foods. Well worth the 10 euros. The location is spot on. The train terminal is just up the road with the bus terminal and the Hop on Hop off buses also readily accessible. We highly recommend Augusta Lucilla Palace.

Cons: We arrived at the hotel at noon, after almost 24 hours of travel. We were exhausted. The front desk staff reminded us that check-in was at 2 p.m., but proceeded to allow 11 other couples/families to register and go to their rooms before 2 p.m.. We sat in the lobby for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The front desk did not check with the cleaning staff until we had been sitting there for an hour and a half, and I went to the desk a second time. Not a great way to start a vacation.

All receptionists were extremely rude and not welcoming at all (Veronica Petrocci as she is so nice and always smile in front of people) for example when we were entering the hotel with baby stroller and too many bags and luggage’s simply the receptionist called “Veronica Balestrieri” was staring at us and did not provide for any support nor try to open the door that’s close to her to pass quickly as well as she was rude and shouting us to close the main door when we get out of the hotel!! So for this point in specific I encourage the hotel’s management to provide a training course for her “Basics knowledge in hospitality” to be nice, kind and not rude to guests. On the other side the waiters in the breakfast “Biance & Patricia” area were so welcoming, friendly and nice. Baring in mind that the room was not much clean and it’s so tight to move. Also I would like to add one point regarding reaching the hotel: Actually the hotel located in the 4th floor with very very tight elevator which made us suffer to reach to the hotel as we had a baby stroller.

Pros: First off all, it’s a joyful mysterious puzzle to get to the room, it was an awesome surprise as a welcome to the hotel, a different experience. It’s truly an amazing game, you’ll get the instructions how to open the plenty of doors to get to the room. I don’t want to write it, you should live that game. If you happen to be there, and I strongly recommend it, then you’ll enjoy the puzzle solving game and you’ll understand what I mean. It was a nice adventure. The location is wonderful, very close to Pantheon and to everything. It was very easy to reach the facility by the public bus from the train station, you’ll not need a taxi to travel to anywhere. A bus stop very close and plenty of bus lines stop at that station. There’s a little restaurant at the next door! A few minutes of walk in the narrow alleys or Rome will take you to many restaurants and cafes and to many nearby by attractions. A supermarket is also almost adjacent, so you can buy all what you need to survive without spending a hell of money in the expensive Rome :-) The room is so clean, the shower area is very good, wide and comfortable. Toilets are also usable without any difficulties, pretty enough space in the bathroom in general and it’s useful for any activities ;-) very good quality towels and bedding sheets, Luxury quality. A word to say about the bed, amazing, unbelievably comfortable. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels as I always travel due to my work. I can bet this might be the best ever bed I’ve slept in. It’s not less than the best Hilton or Sheraton beds. It’s very important for me, at my home I’ve paid more than 5000 dollars for a very good bed, this bed is much more comfortable. If you’re planning to travel as a couple, don’t walk too much outside, save your power to the activities in this amazing bed. You’ll see, you won’t want to go out of bed.

Cons: I have stayed in hotels across the globe and this is honestly THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. First, when I book hotels I filter for a 24 hour front desk, which this BB claimed. They contacted me asking for a general check in time so I provided one. I contacted the BB to let them know I was arriving a bit late (which shouldn't even matter with a 24 hr front desk). I showed up 20 min late to an unlabeled busted up door with about 30 apartment style labels written in pen, one of which was "sweety". I rang it for 10 minutes and noone answered. I came back and rang it for 5 more min and then left. Some dude told me it was run by the owner of the chinese restaurant next door but they seemed clueless. I requested a refund for the cancellation since they misleaded me into thinking it had a 24 hour front desk and did not show up but they refused. My question is who rated this place a 7.9 on kayak???? If you did you are a bad person.
On another note: it's in a terrible neighborhood. If you don't believe me, I chatted with a police officer who told me no traveler should be staying in this area.

Cons: When I booked I wanted a hotel close to the train station, which this certainly was (it's pretty much opposite). The photos of the room looked nice, and whilst they were accurate I didn't realise just how bad the neighbourhood was going to be. It was pretty sketchy, and we didn't feel safe there. The B&B was in an apartment building, which we didn't realise, and some of the other apartments appeared to be abandoned/ derelict. We definitely didn't get a good feeling from the place. We only stayed one night, and woke to find the air conditioning unit had leaked badly, and my luggage was completely soaked through. We tried to report it but the staff didn't speak English, and even when I pointed it out, didn't apologise or seem to care. We had planned on leaving our luggage at the B&B while we spent the day in Rome, but in the end didn't have confidence it would be safe there, so payed to leave it at the Left Luggage at the train station instead, at an additional expense. Certainly wouldn't stay again.

Cons: The hotel is in bad shape. Carpet is shabby, paint chipping off walls, etc. I'd stayed at a Eurostar hotel in Munich that was modern, clean and very comfortable and thought the Rome location would be similar since it's a chain...but they seemed like two different companies.
That said, it's fine for the budget traveler. Clean room and decent shower, but the whole place from the lobby to the rooms are just much shabbier than they appear online.

Cons: Considering this is a 4 stars hotel, I expected better conditions. The doors are old and had to be slammed to be closed and because there is no soundproofing, you could hear them being slammed from anywhere in the hotel. The key card didn't work properly, you have to try 4-5 times before you could open the door and I saw other guests having the same problem. The bathtub looked old and chipped.

Cons: There was a problem when putting the card to open the door. After making the reservation through booking.com they took 79 euros to confirm my booking, but after one month of my stay they have not returned the reserved money.

Cons: To be honest, designating this property as Three Star is unfair to the other three star hotels in the vecinity. Very narrow entrance lobby and sitting area. Limited WiFi. Restaurant is only open for cold breakfast. One of our rooms has a really bad smell coming from sewer system which could not be fixed despite repeated complaints.

Everything felt old and far from “4 stars”. Wifi signal was dismal, half the machines in the gym were broken, the rooftop spa was green and slimy.

Cons: Main problem ... no hot water and staff seems to think that it is normal. Also, the towels do not seems to be clean. Actually, I was originally quite happy with the hotel ... its excellent location (walking distance from Roma Train Station). The staff appeared to be very friendly and we were able to get a kettle despite none is originally available at the room. We stayed five nights, but then small problems started to creep up. First, the kettle we first got did not really work, and the staff was friendly and changed a working one for us eventually. Then, most of the power sockets in the room are type L, instead of the tighter C or F, and the adapters we have often got disconnected or fall out. Loose socket connection is actually a safety hazard! Also, the refrigerator in room was not really that cold, the staff tried to help but it didn't really get it fixed. Then on the last night, there was no hot water, which was really bad considering it was August and we spent the whole day out in the sun. When we call the front desk, the reply was water pressure was low and not much they can do. That was a first for me, and checking the web, I found that this is a well complained problem, making it even worse (from my perspective). System does not seem to respect (and hence be able to respond to) customer complaints ! It is really a dent for me, after having a great 24 day tour in Italy and Greece.
