The cost of drinks was rather high and it would have been relaxing to have a larger bar area. If the weather permitted, the rooftop would have been very delightful. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping exceptional. Although the restaurant was not yet open, we found plenty of good ones close by.

I've been to wonderful hotels in the past but I've never enjoyed any of them as much as I enjoyed Donna Camilla Savelli. The hotel crew members were so friendly courteous and kind. Location is great, not too crowdy but still close enough to all the attractions. I will definitely come again.

There are many good restaurants nearby.The room was perfect - elegant, comfortable, with every need catered for and was kept immaculately clean. Pros: The staff were very polite, and helpful. They also speak English and Spanish so communication wasn't a problem. The breakfast buffet was great. It has a nice variety of food items, all delicious! The location is great since it is a few meters from the Merto Station. The cleanliness is fair. Over all, it was a great value for the price. I visited with two kids and the room was large enough to accomodate us. The whole family had a good experience at the this hotel.

Cons: Terrible location far from the city center or even the Vatican as advertised. The neighborhood is completely littered with trash, just as the hotel had food laying around on the floors for our entire stay. You would be better off sleeping on the floor instead of the aweful mattress and you will be up to your ankles w/ water in the shower. Breakfast was almost ok...except for if you are not Italian you have to drink the "dirty water" vending machine caffe/coffee that tastes like you got it in an American hospital (Italian speakers were offered better caffes from the back by the staff upon arrival). The walls are paper thin and if you weren't completely distracted by the strange noises from within the room there were plenty of noises to here from outside of the room. Be advised also that the city tax is listed incorrectly and is now 6 euros per person per day.

I had a 19" TV, no tub, just a shower, the bathroom was so small two people could not be in there at one time. I was not able to get extra blankets, there was no clock in the room. I was not pleased with this hotel.

The front desk staff was very nice and the people living in the neighborhood were great, It was very quiet and about a 20 minute walk to Vatican City which was nice! The breakfast was amazing and great way to start the day! Cons: They said their pool was small but it was extremely small. That was a key feature for the kids and due to the heat in August/Sept, and it was a bit disappointing.

Cons: The description of the hotel states that it is 10 minutes away from Vatican City and the St. Peter´s Cathedral. By "10 minutes away" we erroneously believed it to be 10 minutes on foot/by walking distance, but upon walking towards Vatican City we quickly learned otherwise. The hotel indeed is 10 minutes away from the above mentioned sights, but by car/taxi and the taxi fee was approx. 10 Euros. From Termini train station (city center) the taxi fee amounts to approx. 26 Euros. The closest underground station is about 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and the taxi fee from there to the hotel amounts to approx. 5 Euros.

If like us all you want is a 'base' then Aurelius is good. If you want lots of facilities and high quality look elsewhere. However the staff were friendly to us (it may be where we at least tried to speak some Italian?) and not sure what other reviewers mean by "rude" staff. The reviews ive read here could reflect the hotel but yet again everyone sees things differently!

Cons: We did have an accident getting out of our bathroom where my partner caught (and cut) her foot on a exposed jagged edge of tiling on the floor where it had either been unrepaired/ left unattended or poorly constructed. So better care with the decor of the rooms is in order!

Cons: there was an obvious smell of smoke, despite being a non-smoking hotel and you coudl see it in the carpets. After sooo much difficulty finding a hotel with a pool, we were shocked to see that it closed at 7:3pm. Generally hotel pools are open until at least 10pm. Very dissappointing considering we were there to spend the day visiting Rome and looking forward to an evening swim to cool down only to find they closed it up early every night.

Cons: Pool - ladder to try to get down to pool was metal along side of pool was very hard to try to climb down - should have had a step down area with large steps plus indicate depth of pool at various spots.
Also the round pool had no steps to get down into it either - hard to get out of it with no steps!

I waited 30 minutes outside Michael Angelo Hotel with my 80 year old Gran who has cancer (not amused). Also did not get to use the free service at all as only 1 bus which was full and disappointed that hotel did not put on another bus as I had previously read on Trip Advisor!!!!!

It is not very near the centre of the city (also not exhaustingly far as we feared before arriving) but the connections by bus and subway were very good. The bus station is exactly across the street and except week-end (when you have to wait longer) the bus comes every 5-10 minutes and it can take you to a subway station. The breakfast was ok: they served sliced cheese, ham and italian salami, cereals, yoghurt, milk, jam, different tipes of bread, a variety of croissants, canned stewed fruits, coffee, tea, juice. Nearby there are good, not expensive restaurants.

Cons: The furniture in the room was a little damaged (a broken drawer), but this didn't affect us at all. They did some renovations in the next room one day and, in another, the elevator did not work but also because of renovations. The window frames are of wood and not very tight and if it is a cold weather it will blow a little current in the room but you can draw the big curtains.

Cons: I asked for taxi to the airport since I had to leave very early in the morning. They offered me a "private service" for 60 Euros. They told me that the price was equivalent to that of a normal taxi since it was a night service to the airport. At the airport the driver told me that I was not able to give me an invoice since he was not the owner of the cab, they borrowed him the cab. He promised me to send the invoice via mail.

Cons: It was a bit far away from the action. (To say that it's close to Vatican City is a bit of a stretch.) However, it was also nice to be away from it all, and in a neighborhood with "real Romans." We went to a snack bar nearby, and it was amusing how we were treated since they didn't see many tourists. I would stay in this place again in a heartbeat.
