Pros: The accommodations were great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is terrific as the Roma Termini is about 10 minutes away and that includes the Metro and bus lines. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon are within 15 - 20 minutes away. The Cellini is expanding from 6 rooms to 12 rooms on two floors with a larger dining facility and balcony area for relaxing in October. We would definitely recommend staying there to our friends and family.

Bathroom was missing toilet paper. There was trash on the floor by the bathtub. Suspect that the pillows and mattress were old. Allergies went into overdrive during the night. Had to take allergy meds to be able to breath.

We booked this place last minute because we weren't satisfied with our initial hotel in Rome and so this was a lovely alternative. Made our stay in this city very memorable.

The front desk staff reminded us that check-in was at 2 p.m., but proceeded to allow 11 other couples/families to register and go to their rooms before 2 p.m.. We sat in the lobby for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The front desk did not check with the cleaning staff until we had been sitting there for an hour and a half, and I went to the desk a second time. Not a great way to start a vacation.

Cons: Quite soon into my 3 night stay I noticed the staff did not have their hearts on their job....across all roles. Lack of smiles and enthusiasm all round. This was apparent at first breakfast where service was patchy... Some waiters attentive others less so. They didn't seem a content bunch....The pre cooked fried eggs were awful, cold and greasy and little else on display was tempting. Day two I asked the waitress for eggs Benedict and was promptly told they do not serve this. When I said this was the first 5 star hotel I've ever stayed in to refuse me this request she returned few minutes later to say chef would take 20 minutes to prepare... Fine... They eventually arrived, were average. Noise in rooms was too much from corridor and adjacent room... Poor sound insulation. When I attempted to check out before midnight as I had an early morning flight to catch I was disappointed by the receptionist saying this would not be possible... Again a first for me in a 5 star hotel... So had to be down even earlier for process with same receptionist which took longer than normal check outs. This is not a hotel I would recommend for a business traveller.

Cons: I did not like the difficulty on getting an iron and ironing board. The service department told me that there was none in the building anymore. I called the next day again requested an iron and board and one was delivered but I was given a 10minute time limit to use it.

Cons: This used to be the place to be - via Veneto, Harry's Bar, a beautiful tree-lined windy boulevard in the heart of Rome. A recent overnight at the Excelsior which is in the Westin group was very disappointing. Sadly, our "upgraded" room facing via Veneto was in disrepair, the carpet was soiled and stained, doorknobs loose or broken, paint chipping and wallpaper peeling. Staff were fairly friendly but as I have stayed in many hotels in Rome, this group did not compare. Hefty nightly charge not worth the money. We only enjoyed the high ceilings and 18th-century architecture.

Internet used to be cut and it is slow. We were 3 people but got only the services for 2 (water, towels…). A staff member at the door asked us to call uber instead of calling a taxi for us. We regret staying at this hotel as we have stayed previously in farther better hotels in the same location.

Cons: The hotel is in bad shape. Carpet is shabby, paint chipping off walls, etc. I'd stayed at a Eurostar hotel in Munich that was modern, clean and very comfortable and thought the Rome location would be similar since it's a chain...but they seemed like two different companies.
That said, it's fine for the budget traveler. Clean room and decent shower, but the whole place from the lobby to the rooms are just much shabbier than they appear online.

I was baffled by their shamelessness. Regardless of whether your a person of color or not, if you have a sense of justice and live by principles such as equality and mutual respect, this hotel may not be the right choice to spend your money on.

Cons: This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in more than 25 cities in my latest trip to Italy. When you consider this is somehow rated a 5 star star hotel (???) it is the worst value for money in the history of hotels. It is literally a 2 star hotel and a bad one - it's a hell hole and a huge tourist trap.
They gave me a room with no AC and no hot water! I repeat, NO HOT WATER. On top of it all, even if I had gotten a proper room with hot water, hotel is old anyways and facilities extremely old and dirty, filthy rooms. Wifi does not work nor does 4g/3g signal. Internet access is only possible outside of the hotel. Breakfast is one of the worst I've seen in Italy (or anywhere).
They did not deliver what a two star hotel would have. That's all late in the evening after a tiring trip for me and my girlfriend. After hours of discussion and no solution offered whatsoever, I was finally able to talk to the hotel manager. The manager is this French guy who barely speaks some broken English and couldn't care less. All he could say is that things didn't go as planned with maintenance and that it wasn't his fault. Out of the few things he mumbled, he may have offered a drink at the bar or something along those lines, to make up for NO HOT WATER, NO AC, NO WIFI, dirty room, lousy breakfast, and the worst service I've ever seen in a hotel or hostel or any type of housing establishment in the world.
The discussion went on for 3 days and no solution was offered at all. This is by far the worst experience I've had in Italy and the worst I've ever had in any hotel anywhere (I've traveled 50+ countries).
The cherry on top was the itchy feeling in the end of my stay due to what could have been bed bugs.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Avoid yourself A LOT of stress and a living nightmare and stay as far away from this place as possible.

We were placed in a smaller room than we had booked. Note the difference, we made the observation about the room at the reception, and instead of putting us in the correct room, put us in another. We were already stressed about this lack of organization. We did not stay where we had booked. Bathroom needs a refurbishment. The bed is a bit small to be a double bed. the breakfast was excellent. the terrace had a very nice view, but does not match the advertising of the hotel. The price is quite expensive. The maids when cleaning the room in the morning, could already leave the water too. and don't leave at 6:00 pm, rest time. By the way ... the room was only entitled to one small bottle of water a day, no matter how many people were there. I find that absurd. any 3 star has a 1 liter bottle of water, teas and coffees. for a 5 star this hotel needs to improve a lot. the hotel hall was very beautiful, baroque style. the hofel was situated in a great place, but we will not stay there anymore.

Cons: I selected the property for my single night in Rome as it was so close to a metro so I was dismayed when I discovered it was closed till further notice . I only found this when the resin went straight throgh6 . I tried in the other direction in case I had taken a limited stop train. . So I had to walk over a kilometre . Not fault of hotel and reception explained how to catch a bus . It would have been most helpful if I knew in advance . A simple message to guests . And for those seeking g Hotel close to metro this isnt suitable currently

Pros: The personnel was outstanding - very helpful, all spoke great English and were extremely professional and welcoming. The room was stunning with a great view over the city and the breakfast buffet had a great selection. Not to mention the central location! Shame I didn’t have time to use the spa.

Cons: The bath in the room didn’t work(couldn’t be filled up). Which is fine I guess since there was a shower anyway and I’m pretty sure my room was supposed to only have one or the other, but it would be nice to have been told is all.

Cons: The overall experience was not satisfying at all. Our room had no daylight, no possibility to let fresh air in (as directly over all air con air waste air blasting out in front of the only window), super loud. Shower constantly changed between extremes cold/hot.

Cons: The elevator situation left a lot to be desired, held 4 on one and six on the other. To get to our room required two elevators for room 235 on the first floor. From outside our room the stairs could not be used, alarmed. The restraunt was on the 7 th floor did not open until 7 am, we had to leave at 7:30. There were 4 tour groups in at the same time next to impossible to get to the restaurant by elevator , required walking up 7 floors.the large number of people had to wait in the landing, very small . Only one key, inconvenient

It is a little difficult to find but when you spend sometime in Rome you appreciate the lacation. 10 minutes walking from Termini. 15 to Fontana de tRevi. Better to have the red bus for a day or two to do the touristic attractions. Be careful with taxi drives. They are a pain in the A — s trying to steal money all the time.

Cons: There should be a minibar and tea/coffee maker according to booking.com listed facilities but there was no such. WiFi was terrible. Too much noise from the streets at night (we couldn’t close the window not to suffocate as it was too hot) Breakfast is not cancellable :(

Cons: The only negative thing that I can say is that I was not aware that the reception is only manned up to 8pm at night although apparently it is mentioned, and there is a thirty euro charge for late check-in. Because of bad mobile connection in the area my texts did not get through to Franco and we waited nearly an hour for him to come and let us in at 11pm.
