Cons: Be very careful if you book this hotel through a third party booking service. They did not honor my booking and the entire check in was long and delayed. The Hotel Boscolo charged my credit card that I gave them for incidentals even after I showed and emailed them the copy of the booking. Very frustrating and I am still dealing with it weeks later.

Had to take allergy meds to be able to breath.

(All beds in Italy are rock hard, so not slept for a week.) The service from the free Mercedes shuttle to the Spanish steps is a nice touch. The Michelin * restaurant lived up to expectation and the young man who served us cheese and tea was exceptional. We never used the gym, pool or spa but it all looked and smelled fantastic. Breakfast was great. We loved our stay.

Cons: For such a high-end hotel, we thought breakfast was very sparse, poor selections, nothing you wouldn't see at a hotel half the price. We were also not happy with the concierge service; they could not offer any advice on tours other than a single company, and were no help at all in arranging transportation to Civitavecchia, which I finally arranged on my own.

The restaurant where they served breakfast is underground almost no daylight, dark furniture, dark wall ... dark everything and the waiters are not very polite. Rooms also very old. Spa needs a maintenance as well. We also had problems with housekeeping.

Pros: I do believe that just about any superaltive once can come up with can be used to describe our stay at the Lord Byron in Rome. Although very professional in their overall demeanor, the staff also proved to be quite friendly and very willing to assist us with everything from directions, renting a car and even spending time calling for us to find an open tattoo studio during what is the holiday season for the locals. I don't think there was a time that we could leave our room only tto return and find everything had been picked up or straightened and this would happen a couple of times a day. The restaurant and lounge were fantastic from the waiting staff to the chef. Incredible food, impeccable service and the genuine feeling that we were truly welcomed guests made this one of our most memorable vacations.

The hotel is perfect for couples, friends , young adults - Pacifico Restaraunt ( Michelin recommended) is downstairs , located in the beautiful garden, the place is also great for Pre-party drinks, Raspoutine club is around the corner. The room was not very big but had high celilings, a nice and big shower, Aqua di Parma toiletries and bathrobes. I was a bit concerned it could be noisy but we had a quiet room. For breakfast I loved that they cooked scrambled eggs or omelette and it was tasty. We also asked for check -out at 1 pm and it was nice it was provided

Cons: The breakfast was quite limited due to the small space - I could eat yougurts and scrambled eggs - so that was perfect for me. Wi-fi was not working in the lobby on the weekend probably because of the amount of people using it. The hair drier was not very effective and the room lacked the full-length mirror ( there were mirrored parts of the closet - so I could use it , but would love a full-length mirror inside

The front desk staff reminded us that check-in was at 2 p.m., but proceeded to allow 11 other couples/families to register and go to their rooms before 2 p.m.. We sat in the lobby for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The front desk did not check with the cleaning staff until we had been sitting there for an hour and a half, and I went to the desk a second time. Not a great way to start a vacation.

Pros: We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and have loved it. The building is beautiful and the lobby/main area are spectacular.
Cons: The hotel was full with a conference of some sort. The gentleman that checked us in couldn’t care about us. We’ve loved this hotel in the past but I think this was our last visit there. The room was mediocre, the staff was mediocre, I was very disappointed.

Cons: IT was in need of updating. The room looked tired and dated. The room was a great size and very comfortable but the TV was inadequate and had no channels. For a Westin you expect more! The breakfast was not good. we went A la carte and it cost us £70 for not much . An eggs benedict a croissant each and 2 coffees! A RIP OFF. We were incensed but had no time to complain because of the horrendous queues to check in and out.VERY UNSATISFACTORY. I asked to have ham instead of prawns for my benedict The menu said it was supposed to be on english muffins but it came on tiny winy pastry cases!!! Was is that??? Just a few of the issues.

Pros: Did not eat breakfast there- the location was great for the Borghese galleria. Lots of places to visit and restaurants within easy walking distance. Our room was spacious and comfortable - old European style -perfect.
Cons: The concierges did not help us at all. Very disappointing as we wanted opera tickets and they were of no help to us. Also did not help us with travel options around Rome.

Cons: Very outdated rooms. Hotel needs a huge revamp. Staff don't pick up the phone - I had to go down to reception twice because they wouldn't answer the phone (inadmissible in a hotle like this). I had requested a King size bed and got two twins instead.

Cons: This used to be the place to be - via Veneto, Harry's Bar, a beautiful tree-lined windy boulevard in the heart of Rome. A recent overnight at the Excelsior which is in the Westin group was very disappointing. Sadly, our "upgraded" room facing via Veneto was in disrepair, the carpet was soiled and stained, doorknobs loose or broken, paint chipping and wallpaper peeling. Staff were fairly friendly but as I have stayed in many hotels in Rome, this group did not compare. Hefty nightly charge not worth the money. We only enjoyed the high ceilings and 18th-century architecture.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent with good choice of hot and cold food; very good selection of fruit. The restaurant on the delightful roof terrace was extremely good and reasonably priced. The bedroom and public areas were spotlessly clean. The location is superb: just inside the Aurelian Wall (and therefore quiet) but around the corner from the via Veneto, with upmarket cafes, shops and excellent transport. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough.

The bathroom was quite large and exceptionally well lit. The staff at the front desk as well as at the roof terrace were very friendly and helpful. The terrace is a wonderful place to escape from the city hustle and bustle. We had two absolutely delicious dinners up there! Was a great place to spend 5 nights at the end of a long trip.

It offers a modest but fresh continental breakfast in a small but cozy breakfast room. The staff are very friendly and helpful and do their utmost to make you feel comfortable. During our stay we were celebrating my wife's birthday and the staff were so sweet as to surprise her with a box of chocolates in the room. Very thoughtful of them and highly appreciated. Cons: If you are after a 5* accommodation, this is not the place for you. The hotel is cozy, clean and safe. And most of all, it is value for money. Internet is relatively good. Perhaps a wider choice of TV stations would be appreciated.

Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no good blanket to use. The AC temp could not be adjusted despite that the staff telling me that it was. I stayed for 4 nights and the last two nights someone was smoking in the room next to mine and the smell invaded my room and I couldn't sleep well. This was supposed to be a non-smoking property! I mentioned this after the first night and the staff brushed it off as if the smell was coming from the outside. It wasn't, it clearly came from the room next to mine and the entire stairwell reeked of smoke when I came up into my room in the evening.

Cons: The elevator situation left a lot to be desired, held 4 on one and six on the other. To get to our room required two elevators for room 235 on the first floor. From outside our room the stairs could not be used, alarmed. The restraunt was on the 7 th floor did not open until 7 am, we had to leave at 7:30. There were 4 tour groups in at the same time next to impossible to get to the restaurant by elevator , required walking up 7 floors.the large number of people had to wait in the landing, very small . Cons: There should be a minibar and tea/coffee maker according to booking.com listed facilities but there was no such. WiFi was terrible. Too much noise from the streets at night (we couldn’t close the window not to suffocate as it was too hot) Breakfast is not cancellable :(

Cons: For management: We were very disappointed by our stay. Six weeks ago, we were offered someone to come get us at the airport and they did not come. They told us to take a taxi. We were scammed by a unlicensed “fake” taxi driver because they did not show up or properly communicate with us on time. We were not offered any compensation for this issue. The hostel person who checked us in basically shrugged it off. The room: The room you will stay in resembles the pictures on the website, but aged 10 years. There were bugs in the bathroom. Staff was hardly present. The pictures on the website did not match the true description of what was offered on the website. I would not recommend this hostel, even for the price. Spend a few extra euros for a nicer place, or find an airbnb. The pictures we most likely taken years ago. The place is dingy and dark, not bright like the photos. There is no breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a family member or friend. The city: Please be aware of scammers left and right. Read up on pick pockets, scam artists, beggars, and taxi drivers. Do not accept any “free help”, as they will ask you for compensation. Anyone will say anything to get some money from you, including a nice storyline of whatever you want to hear. Please read up on a Rick Steeves book, or Reddit forum before you travel. Other than the historical sites, the city is in disrepair, unorganized, loud, and dirty. The only good thing we experienced from this city was the food.

Cons: The only negative thing that I can say is that I was not aware that the reception is only manned up to 8pm at night although apparently it is mentioned, and there is a thirty euro charge for late check-in. Because of bad mobile connection in the area my texts did not get through to Franco and we waited nearly an hour for him to come and let us in at 11pm.
