Pros: The location close to Gran Via and Sol metro were great. I walked practically everywhere from the hotel. Once I finally figured out that Google maps was a little confused about the where the hotel entrance was, I navigated easily to and from the hotel. I ate at the restaurant on premises twice and would recommend it. The buffet breakfast was also great, with a lot of options and plenty of fresh fruit. My original plan was to stay here only when I first arrived and still suffered from jet lag. Then, after two weeks traveling, I was returning to Madrid and staying in a more modest hotel. But, I had a problem with the hotel I chose for my final nights in Spain - broken pipes - and that hotel moved me to a place I didn't like the location of. After a quick assessment of my options, I moved back to Las Letras.

Staff were friendly and attentive and the breakfast spread was delicious. Location couldn’t be beaten either with all museums within walking distance. I’d highly recommend this hotel and we hope we will be able to come and stay again in the near future.

Pros: We had a fantastic stay at NH Museo Del Prado- excellent service from start to finish and a birthday cake for my Mum on our first night. We also were given a 2pm check out for free! Cons: The rooms were extremely claustrophobic. It was very difficult to sleep here. Wall as are very thin. You can clearly here the conversation of other guests in their rooms and in the hallways. Complained several times- nothing done.

Cons: The cleanliness factor not matched the 5 star requirements. The rug in the room show tears and not made rendez-vous with the vacuum cleaner for a while. Common practice to tidy up room right after a guest check out, whenever they leave. So if you are unlucky (as we were) you can enjoy the housekeeper’s noise at dawn from neighboring rooms. The air conditioner doesn’t bring fresh air. You have two choices: keep open the window and let the downtown noise keep you awake all night or you set the temperature down on the aircon getting some fake fresh air feeling.

My husband washed 4 pairs of boxers and three pairs of socks and it was $60. Shame on us for not planning better, but shame on them for price gouging.

Pros: The room was very spacious. I got a very quiet room inside the building, with a window with natural light. It has an entrance hall that isolates the bathroom and the main room, with doors so it is very quiet if somebody is having a shower in the bathroom without disturbing the sleep of the person in bed. The staff was very helpful. We got our room early in the morning before the official check in. We noticed a few flight crew departing from different airlines, so if this is a preferred hotel for them it means is one of the best hotels to stay around the area. We also noticed a few events on the lobby but no noise was in the morning. Very quiet! We stayed only one night.

The rooms are ample and clean, but my favorite feature of hotel was a handheld city guide (converted Google phone) that was programmed with suggestions for activities, and info about tourist attractions in city. I live in the USA so my phone would have been roaming and expensive to use. The city guide allowed me to navigate the city, and look up information as I walked around. It was extremely helpful.

Arrived with a child and 4 pieces of luggage not one person greeted or helped us down the steps into the foyer although there were at least 6 bell boys standing there. They seem to assume their customer want to steal from them. It's very strange. The pool is tiny and sunbeds are scarce. Apart from the one you can pay 100 euros to have all day. On the last day we decovered an infestation of red ants. Generally spent as little time in the hotel as possible.

- Location wasn't great as its far from city center - if you wish to walk daily to the centre or attraction this is not the place. you will have to rely taxi or metro. All in all a Good Location for those not wanting to stay in the City Centre but easily accessible to the same. Travelling from the Airport to the Hotel on The Metro you needed to use 3 Lines making 2 changes and took approximately 1 hour at a cost of 6 Euro per person and meant walking up and down numerous stairs. On returning to the Airport one of the taxi's from the Hotel cost 30 Euro and took 20 minutes easily a better option.

Pros: The location is convenient and we had a view of the courtyard / fountain.
Cons: There was no fitness facility. Before (according to other internet reviews), the hotel would give you a day pass to a nearby gym. During my stay in late December, even that facility was closed. It would have been fine if they had told me at check-in, but I was really looking forward to exercising and was disappointed when they told me that there was none. I think it's a reasonable expectation that if a hotel advertises that they have fitness facilities, that they have it all days of the year.

Cons: the breakfast was okay- a lot of sweet food on offer which is unusual for breakfast however they had a lovely theme for valentines day which was a nice touch. It was also very clean and the staff were on hand to help.

Cons: Let me start with the worse. THE ROOM was STEAMING HOT and it is impossible to control the room temperature. I was told that the heating will be eventually turned off but I was at the hotel mid April when it was warm in Madrid; the room temperature was unbearable. I opened the windows and left the door open to generate a breeze but it was still too hot for an afternoon nap. The evening was better as nights cool off and I was able to open the window to let in cooler air. The hotel’s solution was to turn off the heat but that didn’t solve the problem during the days and afternoons. This needs to be fixed or I could not recommend this hotel. If you are a tourist, stay closer to Sol, Gran Via, Alcalá, Chueca or Centro where you find most places of interest to tourists. This hotel is on the edge of Salamanca far from Salamanca's chic shopping street Serrano. None of the places you will visit are walking distance. The hotel also need refurshining. It has an odd moth ball smell and the floor in my room was not clean and the floor laminate was torn. Stay elsewhere.

Pros: Only stayed for 1 night when go to watch football at Athletico Madrid stadium. Didn't get to explore the hotel much as we wasn't in it very long. The staff were very helpful and there is a taxi rank right outside which was ideal. The taxis are stationed there all night also so if you are catching an early flight, the taxi is there waiting.

Pros: The location was excellent, directly opposite the Santo Domingo metro. There are numerous stations within a two/three minute walk, however there’s no need, as you are so central you can walk to practically anywhere. Hotel was well presented and clean and great value for money.
Cons: The breakfast was average and ridiculously expensive for what it was. I would definitely recommend going out for breakfast as there are lots of cafeterias local that can accommodate. There was a fair amount of late night noise, dustcarts Etc, which I had read in other reviews. But that’s expected as it is so central. Maybe a room not on the outside of the hotel would be a better choice.

Cons: We had a three beds room which had light from just a window in a narrow free space, almost like being in prison. It's not a room for 150 € per night. I think that there are two referent types of rooms in two referent hotels those run like one.

Cons: The room Air conditioning was almost non existent. It was very warm in Madrid when we stayed. I need to be under the covers when I sleep. The pillows were the worst I have ever encountered! They were long and thin so they offered no head support. If you folded them in half it was worse because it became very firm and uncomfortable like sleeping on a bath towel that was rolled up and then folded in half. I need absolute darkness to sleep. The light illuminating from the TV literally lit the room up. It wasn't until our last night that I figured to cover the TV with blankets. The walls and ceilings seem thin because I heard banging and conversations going on in other rooms, both above and on the side of me. You could even hear the people across the hall. The complimentary breakfast buffet also was not worth even going to. Everything was not only substandard and cheap, but while we were there the hotel was at capacity, so the buffet area was extremely loud, and everyone was grabbing food as fast as they could. We ate breakfast outside each day after that. Bottom line...Spend a few extra bucks for a more comfortable hotel, with a better breakfast!

Cons: Bad! They literally kick you out their hostel in checkout time at 11am I did my checkout and 11:10am I asked to keep my bags there, despite they charge for it. I would like to walk around the city and go back there at 6pm to take my bags and go to the airport But then employee Felix was very rude and saying that I couldn't because it was more than 11am and now I should pay the day-rate because was 11:10am or go out He was screaming and out of control, I don't now if he was drunk or what happened, but to avoid troubles I went out I did not complain about it but they say in description that they have kitchen, but there is only a microwave to use and they almost don't have toilet (saw only 1 toilet and 3 places only to take a shower without toilet for all the hostel) And they also are more expansive than other hostels around, bad choice! I just didn't change to other hostel since the beginning because I was with too much bags

Cons: The place is dirty, sheets have stains even when they seem clean, sockets are ripped from the walls, most of the things are broken, there's not a slightest possibility for privacy since beds don't even have the curtains and if you want to take a shower after the cleaning lady cleans the shower rooms, watch out she doesn't see you because she will be rude to you. Because all of that, I didn't even try to have a breakfast at that place hence I cannot say anything about the food.

Cons: It's not clean. Especially the sheets they give is not able to cover blanket so I didn't feel comfortable. I recommend the hotel to change the sheets with new ones which can easily can cover the blanket. Also you have to buy lock in there for your possessions. They could provide that for free
