Los Angeles hotels in Downtown

Pros: The hotel and athletic club is perfect for quick business trips and relatively inexpensive last minute bookings. I'm considering joining the club after this stay.

Pros: Close to everything downtown and very Good Breakfast.

Cons: I felt the parking should have been included with price I spent on the room!

Pros: It was full of history and beautiful. Great location! The hotel and building itself was wonderful. Free breakfast. Parking is reasonably priced. Definitely going back again.

Cons: Bed was slightly uncomfortable. TV was awkwardly placed and small.

Pros: Restaurant great for breakfast; gym was GREAT! Room comfortable and decently appointed.

Cons: Bathroom a bit Spartan

Pros: Loved the comfortable bed, friendliness of staff, and especially the convenient courtesy car! While I normally use Lyft or Uber, I actually found the courtesy car faster and the drivers more knowledgable about the area. I tried both Lyft and Uber and both drivers took long and got lost. If you are here on business, the courtesy car is the way to go, especially as the drivers know the area well, especially the places you need to get to quickly for work.

Cons: Lack of spa facilities. I booked a facial with the Omni Spa expecting there to be actual spa facilities since the price of a facial was as high as any resort spa (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, waiting room with tea and snacks) but there was none of that. I went down early to the spa area and was told to just come a few minutes before my appointment (there is no where to really hang out for an extended period). The pool outside was uninviting as it was drizzling. And there was just the fitness room down there and a small waiting area for the spa treatment rooms. The facial was very good, but I was just surprised/disappointed with the "spa" area.

Cons: The customer service was amazing. We had an amazing time on our trip. We'll definitely be back.

Cons: the check in staff was rude

Pros: Clean facilities.

Cons: 1. Entrance loop is too narrow with too few valet workers. If they pull up your car, you will be at the back of the loop. You have to wait for half a dozen cars in front of you before you can exit! 2. Extremely uncomfortable beds that offer no support. 3. Staff manages tasks does not offer service level befitting the price of the hotel.

Pros: Location of hotel for what I wanted was good.

Cons: Disappointed to pay for a 4 star hotel and get a 3 star room. I was at the omni for a meeting and extended my stay over the weekend. I was moved to a lower quality room and paid current hotel rates. David

Pros: Loved my stay at the Omni, it is one of my favorite hotels. I really want to continue to see all the different locations!

Cons: It was a bit too expensive. There's not much to do near by. Valet was ridiculously priced. And yeah that's all..

Pros: Great place. I like the Ace. Cool rooftop bar. My only hang-up is that there was some serious construction outside. I would have liked to have known this ahead of time. I'll definitely go back after the construction is finished.

Pros: Hotel itself is beautiful, rooftop bar is pretty cool, attached to wonderful Theater.

Cons: Looks like a broke New York hipster's studio apartment. All unfinished concrete and the bed looks and feels like a futon. Parking is an extra $38. Only stayed here for convenience to theater. Absurd for the price.

Pros: The restaurant was great. The beds and linens comfy. City feel is exciting.

Cons: If you have an eastern facing room I hope you are a morning person.

Pros: Delivered stylish service and amenities without sacrificing the professionalism of a traditional hotel. Downstairs restaurant particularly good.

Cons: No closing door on bathroom is highly awkward. Not cute if someone joins you in your room.

Cons: The room was small for the price, and the hallways need new carpet already, also the common area walls could use some fresh paint. Not a deal breaker, but for $300 a night these items should be relatively perfect.

Pros: Hotel was beautiful and incredibly clean. The bed was great and the bathroom was clean but a little outdated. The staff was amazing, especially Andrew who checked us in. The most amazing part though was the pool and the location!

Cons: The only parking was valet and the pool closed early on weekdays. Bathroom could definitely stand to be updated but was incredibly clean.

Pros: The hotel was very cute and has a lot of really cool features, chandeliers, lobby, bars, pools etc. all very cool. Room keys are actual keys and in a way that is very cute and old fashioned, it didn't seem as safe, especially with just a chain lock on the inside of the room door, and no deadbolt. The room was cute, beds were comfortable, bedding was clean. Could hear people on the street and cars clearly. So could use some sound proofing. If you went to the hotel for a event or party and didn't stay overnight I think you would be better off.

Cons: Their is no coffee maker in the room and that little luxury would have been really nice since we were never able to use the breakfast during the time they provided. Their was no book talking about nearby restaurants and features of the hotel in the room by the phone, so that was odd. The parking lot was tiny and the spaces were extremely close and we were in a small sports car, so had to pay to park next door $30 one night and $24 the second. The bathroom in the room was tiny and very outdated, the shower curtain had a hole in it and was yellowed from wear. The main thing that I thought was gross was their was several black foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom. I didn't want to call and make a complaint, and I saw the maid was a few doors down before we left so I left her a note with a tip on the bed that said "The room looks great, but their is a few foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom, could you please take care of that? Thank you..." When we returned the note and tip were gone but the hairs on the ceiling remained. I thought it was rude to take a tip and not clean up the hairs on the ceiling. The bathroom was tiny. It wouldn't take long to see them if you looked up. That was my biggest turn off, but maybe the maid couldn't read english?

Pros: Great atmosphere from the moment you walk inside. Tall ceilings with exotic decor. Lots of character. Tall, beautiful cactus trees outside by a pool that opens at 7am and has a DJ at night. Room is decent -- old-school but memorable. Moroccan style design with lots of mystical colors. No coffee maker or any of that, but they get a pass for being interesting. I paid 250USD a night but that's a bit much. For 150-180USD this would be a good deal. Good location, though there are some sketchy characters / homeless hanging around at night (definitely did not feel dangerous though). Staff was great. Polite and helpful. Subway is just a few blocks away. Overall a good base if you're staying in DTLA, IF you can get the room for around 150USD.

Cons: The bad. They don't use keycards for the elevator or door. As mentioned, there are some sketchy characters outside, and there's lots of people coming inside for the pool parties at night. Anyone could just take the elevator upstairs and potentially kick a door down. Locks seemed kinda weak. No safe in the room, but they have 'em downstairs. Late checkout was 12.30pm and that's pretty BS. Stayed on the 8th floor so sound wasn't a problem, but if you're a light sleeper, don't stay on the lower floors. If you're looking for a sterile place to stay with grandma and the kids, this is not it -- better go with a chain like Hilton or Ritz. But if grandma used to be a hippie and you're fairly open, it's great.

Pros: Nothing, no parking, room smelled like smoke, it was so bad we left and get them to give me my money back.

Cons: For $256/night, my room badly needed an update. There were only 2 power outlets - One shared between the TV and the AC and the other was inaccessible behind the bed. This just doesn't cut it in today's day and age, esp for a hotel that at least partially caters to the convention crowd. In addition, the bathroom was tiny and the shower was so narrow that I had to bathe sideways (2.5 feet, I measured.) Plus, there was nowhere in the shower to put items aside from the floor, no soap tray, nothing. I won't be staying here again. I knew it wasn't going to be the Ritz, but this was a tad too far into the 60s for me.

Pros: The bed was incredibly comfortable.

Cons: The bathroom was small, felt old, and was dingy. There was a roll of toilet paper by the sink like it was meant to be a hand towel. The floors are concrete and feel unkempt because of their coldness. The decor is also themed but feels cold and dingy, the rugs on the walls were half hung. The worst was the A/C in the window and being hot all night. We ended up running to the ACE to salvage our vacation.

Pros: I enjoyed the exotic feel of the bar with the Indian decor. The pool area is gorgeous. Had I been able to arrive before 10pm I eould have enjoyed a dip. The water pressure in the shower was phenomenal. The hotel overall had old world charm and a nice bistro style dining area.

Cons: The room smelled like mildew and dust. The bed was horribly pitted from years of bodies on each side. The sheets and pillows smelled like they were stuffed damp into a closet for the day then dried and put on the bed. The carpet was red at one point. Its brown and very dingy now. I wouldn't walk around without socks.

Cons: They sold my reservation and wanted me to stay in a Sheraton in Universal city putting me about an hour out with traffic and my appointment was at 530pm in downtown LA and 7am at the LA hotel the next morning. They blamed Kayak and stated that "you" sell reservations when open reservations don't exist. They took no blame or responsibility. I had to stay in another hotel near LA hotel because my appointment was at 7am there at LA hotel! I want my money back

Pros: Room and bed were large and comfortable.

Cons: The in-room coffee left something to be desired. The small packets of powdered creamer were barely enough for a small cup of coffee, even using both of them. And there were no glasses in the room . . just plastic cups.

Cons: Have to pay for parking and wifi. They would allow guests to check in before me (my reservation). Have to check out at front desk.

Pros: Ample room and nice layout, comfy bed, but pillows were a bit runned-down.

Cons: Room smelled old upon arrival (put my lavender oil to work quickly)... mold stain on shower wall, shower floor needed replacement, main bathroom light was out, coffee available for two people in the room, but only one creamer packet and stirrer was available, sofa was visibly stained. Furniture looked like it hadn't been polished ever - just lightly dusted bn guests. No free wi-fi. If I didn't experience any of this, I would've given a much better rating but it's hard to get past first impressions. I'm big in attention to details and unfortunately it just wasn't there, and certainly not for $300 per night.

Pros: This hotel is in transition and making an very honest effort to make it into a destination for all travelers. They are doing a good job. change takes time and with that. Elevators are not up to par and there is a feeling of being in a "remodel" but the staff is great and I would return without pause

Cons: ATM was a real pain. Have to follow up with my bank because it did the entire transaction but for giving me my money. Parking being a separate charge is a miss too

Pros: The bar and pool are were very nice to enjoy. The rooms were clean and bathrooms recently updated.
