I was pleasantly surprised with the amenities in the room - bath robe, slippers, fridge. Everything was sparkling clean, staff was helpful and friendly. The ONLY thing that was questionable was the fact that the windows are single pane... which means that the street car donut spinning competition in the parking lot outside my window at 2am was incrediblely loud, and this went on for 20 minutes. Cons (-) Not able to check in until 3PM. 'No rooms available at 2:40PM' ... so not a single room ready 20 minutes prior to check in time. No one mentioned very very loud band playing just under my window until 11PM. Hotel old and not impressive. My upgraded room did not seem any better than a standard room. Bed on a platform that is bigger than the mattress so be prepared to kick you toe in the dark.

Cons (-) Misinformed about parking. Was told it was free upon check-in and ended up getting a bill for $44 upon check-out. Manager said there was nothing they could do.
Cons (-) One day parking for $44 is just insanely expensive as you can get all day parking for $10 with 5 mins walk.
Pros (+) Friendly staff and spacious rooms. Asked for early check-in and they were able to accommodate the request. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the downtown LA area.
